Hi guys, I just want to say that you saved me from Anorexia. I was eating about 300-500 calories a day for six weeks from a previous 1500 low calorie diet losing weight rapidly as I believed it would give me the body I wanted. It eventually crashed my metabolism and led me down to a BMI of 17.9. For important reference I had lost an overall 130 pounds and had a fear of fat. Following which my diet also began to crash due to stress from Uni which led to a vicious cycle of binge eating and fasting. After watching your video however on why women should bulk, I realised the damage I did to my body but also mentally. I still continue to binge, but, now I’ve stopped fasting as I believe that it leads to a cycle. I’m currently doing a reverse diet and bulking at the same time. I know I will gain weight. I know it will make me look fat. I could go to maintenance instead but I rather not waste time. Am I afraid to gain it all again? No. Because who I am now is different to who I was two years ago when I started my weight loss journey. I know I can lose it. I know that even if I do gain it all back, not all of it will be as fat. I know I can do it and I will. I’m not afraid. And it’s thanks to you guys!

This episode hits close to home for me. Up until this month I been taking pain killers for my lower back and hips every day after work. I’m on phase 3 of maps performance and since the beginning of this month I have not taken a pain killer. I feel strong, when I pick up 50lbs boxes at work now I use the cues given in the deadlift workout examples from the maps programs. Mobility has become my new pain relief. I thought I’d always be stuck with chronic pain. Thank you Mind Pump.

My 1 year anniversary of weight training consistently is coming up next month. I can attest to being a newbie, going crazy hard and getting strong quickly. But ever since I started following your approach to fitness, I am addressing or have already addressed mobility issues, lagging body parts and metabolic adaptation. I wasn’t taught any of that. And I know my 41 yo body will thank me in the long run. Thanks guys!

I have never given myself an honest try to getting the body I’m supposed to be in. I’ve tried working out for a week, then stopped. Tried fasting, that sucked. In the end I realize I enjoy being lazy too much. Now I have kids. 2 of them that look up to me, and see something that I am now ashamed of. My 4 year old for the first time asked me why I don’t like playing outside, and it fucking crushed me. I will never say no again. My kids deserve a father who has the energy to play outside with them and build their confidence rather than learning to be reclusive and pretend you’re happy. My wife deserves a husband that gives a shit about his health and wants to be around in a couple of decades to see the world. A buddy of mine told me about you guys. Every video I watch changes my aspect and helps me realize it’s not just about the physicality of changing, but mentality is just as much, if not more, important when you are serious. Thank you for the content. Your videos will be my workout buddy for the next chapter of life. 💪🏻

I will say this. For YEARS I was always focused on performance, progressive overload, and PR's. But now at 41, it just isn't a priority for me after 25 years of training. There's actually a weird sense of freedom in being happy where you're at and simply training to be healthy and maintain. 💯

This holds so true, I've been working out for quite a few years and just not seen great progress. Until I started upping my protein intake and started Maps anabolic what's brought my volume way down now I'm absolutely loving it I'm actually doing less and getting more progress. I've got 3 weeks left in adabolic and cannot wait to start another one of your programs. And by using strength as my indicators of progress rather than how I look has absolutely revolutionized my training and how it overall feel about myself. Very awesome thank you for all you do

I've caught myself watching on KZread instead of listening on Spotify because I noticed the special program giveaway on KZread that wasn't on audio only, and I'm not proud of that. I don't want to be someone who just takes advantage of that kind of generosity. Due to a physical problem I quit everything last November, gained weight, resting heart rate still 49. We started walking 5-6 days a week 3-4 weeks ago. I am ready to get back at it. I discovered you guys when I started walking & your shows have helped maintain motivation & are very informative. I am not sure where to start and if your plans are appropriate for my age group.

Sal always says to put distance between yourself and a craving to help maintain control. I view him stepping back from a Twitter argument for 24 hours the exact same way. Smart! Create a little bit of distance between you and the emotional reaction. Doesn’t mean you’re not gonna go back and fight it out, but at least you’re not operating purely on reaction.

By coincidence, the day I'm listening to this (around 2 weeks after being uploaded), I heard someone else rattle off the homeless statistics. I live in The Valley in LA and a lot of areas are totally insane. The sister of a friend of mine was a chiropractor. I injured my neck and it bothered me for a couple months until I finally saw her. I was able to only get one free session with her before she moved away, but after the session I was pretty much all better. :) I'm skeptical about most chiropractors, but my only experience was a positive one.

My buddy Steve Guerra here in Rhode Island was a trainer first and then became a chiropractor as well and he got a great position with a private practice and they were overloading him and he told them straight up that he needed more time with each client and time in between for notes and what not and they actually listened to him. I was shocked.

I love how candidly you guys speak with each other, especially when there's clearly differing views: that's what free speech looks like! Question for you guys: I have mild scoliosis on my upper vertebrae due to a combination of hard landings (Army static line jumps), very bad lifting techniques when I was in my early 20's, and sleeping in bad mattresses. This has caused me chronic neck / shoulder / upper back pain for over a decade. I keep it under control with an inversion table, a yoga wheel, deep tissue foam roller, monthly visits to the chiropractor, and monthly dry-needling. Do you guys have any other recommendations for treatment, or specific exercises I should do / not do?

I do calorie cycling around the weekend where I’m in a surplus all week to be ready for when I’m busier with kids and I don’t eat as much. I also naturally don’t eat a lot, so I’m very regimented in my surplus Monday through Friday. I forgo breakfast Fridays and focus on my protein but allow the extra calories to enjoy Friday evening dinners with my family when we do take out or eat something a little unhealthier. It’s really just about paying attention to your habits and exercising self awareness.

When I had to see a chiropractor it was a great experience. I had tendinitis in my rotator cup and turns out I had a bulging disk in my neck. It was so bad I couldn't even raise my arm shoulder level. He did this electrode massage thing, made adjustments, and gave me corrective exercises. Over a few months everything got worked out, got full range of back in my shoulder, and got my strength back. Definitely changed my view on chiropractors after all that.

It makes life alot easier when your trying to stick to a certain diet. Diet fatigue sets in for me after six months or more of the exact same food everyday so I make minor adjustments here and there

50:03 - issue mind pump has w/ ppl. Taking things out of context… This reminds me of the book I’m currently reading by Dale Carnegie “How To Win Friends & Influence Ppl.” Principle #8 trying to genuinely see things from the other persons pt. Of view. Every time I read this book I think of this show. Enjoyed this episode as always

I have been doing your maps powerlift and have been wanting to try maps strong as I've been nearing the end of powerlift! I do have a question, I couldn't figure out how to call in your show🤣 I have seen some really good gains in my deadlift, shoulder press and squat, but my bench seems like it's crawling up. Was wondering if there was any common mistakes that happen to drag bench behind

I had been able to get stronger (progressive overload) for some time while training to failure. I was very motivated, it was HARD but the weights and gains kept going up! Until not long ago, I think fatigue caught uo to me. I took a deload week, didn't help. I'm guessing training to failure is not going to be the answer for strenght anynore. I love deadlifts, and it would be great to keep adding pounds to it without injuring myself (good form is always a priority).
