At my primary school there were lots of dumb rules. We were not allowed to wear sandals because we might fall and hurt our toes, no logos other than the schools, in y5 this one teacher banned yawning around her and my y6 teacher banned us from holding pencils when he was talking and we would get a detention if we were holding a pencil, whiteboard pen e.t.c he also banned “smiling to broadly” because it meant we were talking about someone else or being rude. Y6 was so strict in my class, my friends in other classes were aloud to draw in books and on there books and talk during lessons! Oh, and we were not allowed our polos unbuttoned past two buttons, they didn’t really enforce that too much because my primary was pretty big with 750 kids.

In my school, we weren’t allowed to use phones to play Kahoot! because some people didn’t have phones even though prior to this rule we shared with the person who didn’t have phones. Teacher: Remember kids, sharing isn’t caring.

in my school you get 2 days isolation for being late, but they banned going to the toilet AT ALL and tell us to go in the 2 mins changeover. but more people going in the 2 mins changeover means more late marks ☠️ MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

My primary school also did that water thing 6:39 It was legit a thing, and we got in trouble

They made a rule at my school that you can’t wear adidas/nike clothing unless it was a tiny logo because it would make poor people jealous

I remember in year 6, my teacher made us keep our water bottles outside the classroom because ONE PERSON was drinking so much?! She even made us keep them outside in the summer heatwave and one person FAINTED. The teacher got fired from not respecting the rights of a child 😅

My school banned writing in colours that weren’t black or blue. No-one really enforced it though, so sometimes I would write in red when I forgot to bring my black or blue pens. Eventually, I started using pencil instead. They also banned using iPads outside of lessons because the Year 7’s were having a worse posture than mine, and that’s saying something. They also banned this one gate because it was a ‘safety hazard’. They changed the code, but people figured out you can use your finger to open it so they added a guard. Eventually, we figured out the code and some people just used it when in a rush. They got in serious trouble.

In my school we were told to bring in bottles to drink in lessons rather than go to the fountain but we now can’t drink in lesson because it disrupts the lesson

In my school we can’t have gum and our water bottles are out of our classroom so we need to ask our teacher to go out and have a drink of water

A stupid rule in my school is if you throw up or are sick etc you can’t go home because they think your faking but the only teacher who was smart was mine he said,”We should be able to use common sense and how can you not go home for throwing up,” we were all thinking the same thing as him though

about 12:00 at my school we had a non-uniform day where you were not allowed to wear a hoodie with logos, so one of the students was asked to put it inside out.

There’s a school bye me (secondary) and they come at 8:00 and leave at 5:00, can’t talk in the halls or at lunch, teachers are at every table at lunch.

There are loads of stupid rules at my school 1: We have to wear our blazers all the time, but we had to wear them with our PE kit too, for some reason?? When we were all walking to school, some people had their blazers on their fingers, holding it out in front of them like it was a bomb or something, and they only put it on when they got into school 2: A full ban on coats being worn inside the school, but people still worn them, INCLUDING THE TEACHERS??? 3: This one was pretty recent, but whenever you ask the teacher to go to the toilet, they would have to call “patrol” and they would take you to the toilet, and you had to finish in 2 minutes too, what if you wanted a shit? Mind you, the toilets were so gross that nobody ever did a shit, but they did rub it on the walls though (these were all in the boys toilets) and one of them had a broken window too, but it wasn’t in the girls toilets, no broken windows no shit on the walls, NOTHING!

We have to ask the teacher if we could take up our drinks and we can only go to the toilet before and after breaks ‘we had 3 breaks in a school day which is 6 hours’ and we can’t have anything that’s on our heads like hoodies, hats or anything else. And we can’t have anything that can distract us in class but there is a boy in our class that can literally do anything he wants 😅 and the teachers don’t even care 😂😂

Right I've a really stupid one 😂 basically in a math class and someone took a drink of an oasis (which the canteen sold) and the teacher him and said`STOP DRINKING WHILE IM SPEAKING!!! STOP GULG GULGING!! ESPECIALLY THAT STINKING JUICE!'. I swear the whole class was dying of laughter. Now all of us die of dehydration I maths 😂

In my school we ARENT allowed to have any drink apart from water, we aren’t allowed to chew Gum, we aren’t allowed to have subtle makeup, we aren’t allowed to have long nails, we aren’t allowed to wear any shoes with Bubbles (whatever they’re called) and most importantly we have to have PERFECT uniform.

in my primary school, we had to fold our arms and put one finger on our lips to ensure that we were listening. Girls also couldn't wear their cardigans around their waist at break time even if it was too hot outside and we didn't know where to put them. A rule in my secondary school is that we can only have one set of ear piercings. Not seconds or thirds. We have to wear blazers no matter what. My friend speaks to herself, she can't help it and she got a detention for it. She began crying and got an isolation for it plus a week's detention.

8:08 in my primary school there was something called a principal award and whoever got it was rewarded with 5 minutes extra playtime. Until one day there was a new headteacher who changed so if you get the award you get to have lunch with her. When I told my mum about this she said “what do you get of your naughty 10minutes extra lunch” I’m still pissed to this day as I was a good student so I would spend about one lunchtime a month there!

in my school if you are late to school you get a lunch time detention and if you say you arent going to the detention then you get excluded for one day

In my science class we have to go to the corner of the room just to drink water

Totally unrelated but when I was in elementary school, if you went down to the nurse for anything she would say and I quote "put an ice pack on it you'll be fine"

As someone who has lived in the UK for years, and gone to 5 or 6 schools, the "Banning best friends" rule is literally not a thing.. Oh, and my 3 siblings went to the literal worst school here, it doesn't even exist there from what I know.

In my primary school, if someone pushed you and almost makes you trip onto a curb into concrete (our school was weird, it had curbs and pavement stuff around the AstroTurf playground) and you pushed them back that was wrong. Also in high school, if someone tries bullying you and throw calculators at your head and try recording it, and you say that you want to strangle them, you get a 45 minute detention. For 'intent of violence'. But when they gang up on you for the next week it's completely fine, and get their friends to scream at you and get up in your face and follow you it's fine. I threatened the bag. Didn't strangle them. I threatened to put their stupid bags in the bin. Because I was sick of them throwing stuff at me for 5 minutes.

I remember when I got a lunch detention and I wasn't allowed to eat, but I did get hungry and so did every one else. So we ate our lunch and the teachers got PISSED. They said why are you eating and I just looked at them dead in the eye and said... why nor. She thought I had autism for around a month.

2:00 in my school red ink is used as a grading ink for teachers and sometimes the students mark in red While green is used to fix errors after marking and is the grading ink for students

i’m first year my year was banned from buying chocolate milk at the canteen because people would buy them and open them and jump on them and pour it all over everyone one day like 12 chocolate milks exploded in one of the rooms and till this day 3 years later they can’t get the milk stains of the walls

We got a new teacher this year and she’s made a rule that we can’t look out of the window during lessons🤣🤣
