Fun fact: Tangled Colony is based on the real life "rat king" phenomenon (don't look it up if you're squeamish), so this deck actually has *three* rat kings!

Don't comment often but I hope you know your videos help to just take my mind off of things, started uni this year and it's tough to just relax with everything being so unfamiliar. So having videos like this to remind me of something familiar is really calming

That's why ninjas are some of my favourite archetypes. Even pro players sometimes missplay against them and you can do so many combat tricks with ninjustsu.

Funny you should say this about getting sick. A ton of my coworkers are getting sick/have been sick the last week. And I've been sick as well! Feeling much better than I did yesterday, so that's good.

Im just getting over strep throat. I haven’t been that sick in a very long time. Absolutely miserable. Funnily enough it went from 85 during the day to 40 at night recently so I’m wondering if that contributed to my woes. ❤

I still think Twisted Sewer Witch is a very overlooked, powerful card. The mana cost is the only thing keeping that from being in more decks imo. Also, has there ever been a flying rat/flying rat ninja before? This deck seems like it'd run into a flyer problem if it's not careful.

Doubt it, would need a lot more interaction at which point we dilute the rat synergies too much. The archetype isn't fast enough to be able to only focus on Rat synergies and forego the typical removal and discard.

So i play that rat king as well, with poppet stitcher. so i get a bunch of 3/3's that go ham. i also got the 7/6 convoke flyer/ search card monster. i forget its name

Do you think Mukotai Ambusher might be better than Twisted Sewer Witch? Sewer witch might be better in terms of raw value, but the ambusher is played more easily and allows for more synergy in your deck

I like having a few cards to go over the top in case the board stalls out and Ambusher (while nice) would be more of the same.

I thought you could use ninjutsu to play around a wandering emperor, because you can play the ninjutsu ability returning the targeted creature and then wandering emperor's ability fizzles. Is that not the case?

Not if Emperor comes down during block step. That way, the creatures haven't been declared unblocked yet

I really want to run Rats and Ninjutsu mechanic, do you think this would be competitive in ranked ladder?

There's a decent Ninjutsu deck in Historic, but don't think it's good enough in Standard at the moment.

Cool deck! Why go for cut down instead of fatal push when the ninjutsu theme triggers fatal push's extra effect? I could also see Kaito Dancing Shadow in this deck working well with the ETB theme

Yeah, Ninjutsu returning to owner’s hand is sort of implied. You can’t put a card you don’t own into your hand under any circumstances.

KZread chooses how many ads to serve you, I don't have control over that. I personally use KZread premium to avoid seeing them altogether.
