You know.. it's alright to decorate with lights... Decorating the house or the environment around the house if it is intended to reflect the cheerful atmosphere in the special Holy month of Ramadhan, then the law is permissible. However, if the act of decorating a house is made part of the worship of Ramadhan, then it is not allowed.. and this girl just wanted to share happiness atmosphere with everyone in the Holy Month of Ramadhan.. You want to see another example.. well you can search Indonesia Festival Ramadhan...so many lights dan decoration.. the purpose also to share happiness, helping others and many things.. not just get closer to Allah SWT, but also to get closer with family and the community...

Don't discourage people. There's nothing wrong in decorating. Indeed, it's purpose is to get closer to Allah, but it doesn't mean we can't decorate. Decoration is expression of happiness.
