Zipper puzzle is binary. 32 = 2^5 combinations. Since the puzzle was for christmas 2018, we write 18 in binary = 10010, which is the combination in the end.

There used to be A, B, C and D cells. When a smaller battery was introduced, it was consequently called AA. And AAA is even smaller. These days, only AAA, AA and D cells are common, but the other sizes still exist.

Yep, all of the examples you gave put out around 1.5V but have different current capacities. 9V batteries are actually made of 6 smaller cells put into series (series circuit adds voltages while parallel circuits increase potential current and generally extend the life of the batteries).

Hey chris, the last puzzle's hint was not the way you thought. It says that you have 32 different ways .Every step has 2 ways, so 2^5 equals 32.
Anyone else notice he set the clock to 9:50?! Too funny. Love the videos tho! Keep em coming!

i would honestly listen to you talk all day, your voice is amazing! i wish you would do audiobooks or something like that lol! much love from Argentina!
Always love the puzzle solving vids. You’re a genius at it. Just one term correction. You referred to the lack of space between the “stash box” and the clock body as “variances”. Being an engineer, we refer to this as “tolerances.” Something built to extreme tolerances means there’s absolutely no “wiggle room” between the moving parts. That box was beautifully made and probably within 20,000 thousandths of an inch of tolerance. Very hard to achieve and maintain with wood. Watch different humidity levels change the tolerance on that stash box. Great video as always and sorry for the nomenclature correction. Peace and aloha to you and yours. 🤙🏼
Hi Chris, love your channel. The drawer puzzle, I think you missed something as it was too easy. Perhaps the drawers do come out and reveal a hidden compartment. Please recheck. Love the zipper. First time I have ever seen something like that. Great solves.
Killer puzzles! I loved the mechanism in the zipper box. Its amazing to see the wide variety of puzzles that people create. Practical use like the clock puzzles are among my favorite styles of puzzles and puzzle boxes.

It tickled me that Chris referred to the box in the clock puzzle as a stash box! Every time he does these puzzle boxes I think every time that they would be great stash boxes!
Awesome! Great way to start the weekend, thanks Chris.
5:08 because in paper formats (..., A3, A4, A5, ...) the size also gets smaller with upping the number. And *that* is because all paper A-sizes are derived from the A1, which is exactly 1 square meter in size.
@RavenGlenn
2 жыл бұрын
What does that have to do with batteries? I could also say that wire diameter is smaller the higher then number. But that is just as much nonsense. The truth is that batteries were initially labeled with a single letter based on size. A was the smallest and worked their way up in size with each letter. Then as technology improved they needed smaller batteries and those letters became general sizes that are divided up by how many letters there are.
Came for the puzzles, stayed for the ultra-mega-super HD film production quality
I'm always excited to see what puzzles you have for us every week. Love watching everything you do. ❤
Considering the hint for the puzzle was "32", I thought it was the number of possible combinations. 5 slots each having 2 options. 2 to the power of 5 equals 32.

I thought it was like a digital clock where the first 3 would be to the left so that the space in between would look like a 3 and the last 2 would be left and then right so the space in between would look like a 2
For the ⏰ puzzle I was thinking, by 4:08, that part of the solution was that you had to smack it. Just like a lot of folks do when their alarm goes off 1st . . . heh, thing in the morning. Hitting mine wouldn't do anything, as I use my phone. 🙃
A puzzle and bonus tamper-proof clock.
"That's gotta be it" is probably the most frequently said thing just before "I guess that wasn't it"...🤣😶
Would love to see you solve a Ryan Hughbanks puzzle! He's my cousin's husband who I just recently met for the first time and has made some beautiful puzzles made in western Nebraska.

I feel you set the time upside down. Beautiful puzzles. Great video.
32 probably stands for 2^5 which the total amount of possible combinations.
These are so awesome, I love the first puzzle and how you could just put this somewhere in your house and no one would know it’s a puzzle
I love your videos. I did my first manic trick on stage. Flowers up the sleeve! I was cast as Drosselmeier in the ballet. I needed a trick for the period. I did my first performance for you. THank you! P
The best thing to stash in the clock are batteries. So when the battery needs changed, you will have some ready to put in.
I made a pair of overalls out of that holo fabric for haloween. Such a epic look and now cards to go with :-)

like the way chris expresses the puzzle in the intro.. dope intro..😎
The cards and jacket are SICK!!!! Nice job!
I really love that drawer puzzle!!!
Just LOVE your new deck! The holo design is so dope. Loved today's solve. The first two were elegant in their simplicity. The third puzzle was the real treat. The solution was simple once you figure out the system. My husband and I love watching you solve puzzles and as fellow Canadians we are so happy for your success. The way you have your buddies helping you is awesome. You deserve every single success because of your hard work. You are the real deal Chris! 👍💯✌🇨🇦😎🧩🃏♟

Beautiful puzzles
Can't wait to see you take on that Quintus! I think Mr puzzle took like 6 hours over 2 days! I can't imagine the skull!
The word you’re looking for is tolerance. Very tight tolerance’s in that puzzle.
Pretty sure that clock is upside down. The hour-hand doesn't line up with the time you set it to. 😉
thank you for the amazing content as always
After seeing Chris’s hands so often I just realized his tats have been on many tat pages I followed growing up!
Omg That zipper puzzle had me so confused lol
I thought it might be a 1rt , 2lt, 3rt, 4lf, 5rt pegs in a zipper fashion. Almost was. Great solves. I have a puzzle collection & a clock 🕒 collection. Gonna try getting the clock box puzzle. That file drawer puzzle was too easy... But, it would fit into my wooden box collection nicely.
No penguins were harmed in the making of this video.
That clock puzzle box hits me in my horological heart. Now to search for one haha

Super dope postcards ✌💯
battery names were originally given standardised technical names to identify the dimensions of the cell, running from A to J in 1924. As batteries had only gotten larger previously to produce more juice for larger or hungrier portable devices, there was nothing 'smaller' than A. Thus, AA was designated. By 1959, AAA was added to the list of specifications. 😂👍
Fairy introduction yee good job cool i should buy the carts. This video make me happy to buy this puzzle And resolved
I just wanna say that Chris looks a lot like Eddie brock from venom but with a beard 😂😂
Just ordered a pack and cannot wait to use them
Great solve 👌
Answering your question, AAA and AA batteries come later than A batteries. In past times we ha A (for small) B for mediun, C vor Large and D for Extra large batteries. Since AA and AAA come later and are smallest than A, people simple uses the A as a multiple of how small a battery is.
Nothing better to do on a Friday night than watch some puzzles get solved
