This got me super excited and I had the credit card in hand, but man... I saw subscription and immediately got sad. Great video and great explanation as usual though! Get these guys to offer this to own outright in its current state and pay for future updates or something😁

For those of us that own mTracker 3D, are we not going to see anymore expansion packs unless we subscribe? Oh hell no

Subscription is discouraging. This is further convincing me to move towards Resolve :(

Apple has all these features they use in Facetime, but they won't include it in FCP. What a shame!

I was in love with this whole video until the subscription part... :( Its robbery to not add a buy in full option

@@david243121 It can do these things and a lot more. Most of those tools in Resolve are much more complex and at the same time, they offer more control, which means that you can get better results.

Motion VFX shot themselves in the foot right out the door... FCP is being abysmally supported by Apple and their response as an independent plug-in developer is to nickel and dime the user base? Not interested in this business proposition.

I'm afraid I won't be paying monthly fees for these products. Too many companies have jumped on the subscription bandwagon. I and others can't support them all. Monthly fees for plugins? I don't think so.

As always Dylan, an excellent comprehensive video. This looks like really well finished and highly advanced software, truly unlocking a lot of what FCP is capable of, but MVFX have completely misfired with a subscription model considering the landscape that FCP thrives in. It seems they’ve misread the demographic completely. Still, it’s a great step in the right direction for more powerful compositing solely within fcp. How is the performance? Any buggy frames while using?

So what happens if you've already bought the mTracker 3d essential bundle package? Do they expect me to now switch to a subscription when I've already paid?

I agree..I am a music producer/engineer/filmmaking school student..when Waves did that, they lost a lot of clients. Now I mostly deal exclusively with Fabfilter plugins along with Valhalla and Izotope... Logic Pro has some solid plugins as well . I have about 50 Waves plugins, but haven't bought any since the Subscription Gate.

Now I understand why fcpx doesn't bring nice updates. It's so that others can sell their plugins.

I have no idea if I'd ever use these plugins for my KZread fishing channel, but they are very impressive. I've enjoyed watching your content, learned a lot, and it's because of you that I've invested in plugins (mostly MVFX). I've spent about $600 in the past month on their plugins but the subscription model is concerning. You're probably tired of hearing that but it seems that most folks arent too thrilled with it. I hope they reconsider that model and don't push that same model with other key plugins. Great job with the video as always.

Really like your videos Dillan but I've stopped it at 7 seconds and won't be watching it. A LOT of us paying clients are pretty pissed off with MVFX - the hype they were building for the new plugins which turned out to be a subscription model hasn't gone down well with us thats paid thousands over the years.

So stupid move of them to let users pay per month / year. I am done.

Capcut's built-in magic mask is still way better and faster 😆

I left FCPx and went Davinci ,the magic mask inside Davinci is dope and no subscription!

This video once again shows how far behind FCP is in terms of providing such features natively. Seriously, if this continues, I might consider outsourcing such tasks to Resolve, at least partially. What are your thoughts? Why is Apple so out of touch in this regard? It feels like you can't reach any of FCPX's developers with pressing questions or desired features. It's wild.

Help needed, i have watched tutorial on how a compound one clip with titles, or what ever, and you want to copy it and change some parameters, but leave first one intact. I can find where i watched it or if someone knows and share or write here, will appreciate, because i loooose so much time on this thing. Thank you and warm regards.

Ok. I thought the much more effective masking tool would be great when working with for example skintones. But I listen😉 However, speaking of which, I would really love if you did a video of your top 10 (ish) walkthrough over best grading plugins right now. Without a doubt Color Finale 2 Pro. The masking for skin tones is far more superior and efficient. I'm only going to be using mRotoAI in situations where I need to relight the subject. I like the Topaz Video AI subscription model better. I paid for 1 year of updates, and now I can't get any more unless I buy another year. BUT the software is still working completely fine, and to be honest, the newer releases haven't brought anything spectacular to the table.

The subscription is decent given how expensive all of these plugins are, especially m02 (or the coming m03). However, I already own most of the 3D plugins. At first glance, that's somewhat discouraging, but will probably balance out anyway.

Give it a 14-day free trial, there's no harm in that :) If you already own mTracker 3D and/ or mTracker 3D Area and/ or mO2, then 2D plan might be a great choice for you.

@@motionvfx The exclusion from buying the mTracker 3D packs will be a bit of a hit, if only taking the 2D subscription, but are prevented from getting them as perpetual licenses. Overall, it seems to be great value. It'd be an immediate 3D subscription for me, if I didn't have a large swath of perpetual licenses. This is a rare case where the subscription is better value than a lifetime license.

@@dwrex100I compare to how much I've spent on the plugins that are included, and I'm sure I'd have at least a few years of subscriptions covered, while also having access to more plugins (and extension packs). But, I'll probably wait for m03 before seriously considering it. I have a rival surface tracker, and I'm not doing anything with rotoscoping to *need* it yet (although I want it). Ha ha. :)

I turned on my Mac when he started talking about rotoscoping, then turned off my Mac when I went to see the exorbitant price he's asking. They killed the product with Subscription. You pay for something but in the end it doesn't belong to you

Apple doesnt believe in FCP. Why should I? In the latest M3 MBP event, whenever editing was talked about or shown, they referred to Davinci. With FCP on Ipad as a sub, I feel they are just testing the waters for the Mac version. I'll stick with Davinci thank you, Apple seems to approve.

Sucks is only offered as a subscription. I own 3 out of the 5 from their base pricing model and almost all except the new ones from their second tier!
