2:38 Putting one point into Summon Resist would go a long way... you got +17 to Summoning on your gear. A single point in Summon Resist will net your skellies 65% to all res.

Summon nec was my first ever character back from classic days. Always been my favourite! Not the fastest build untwinked, but he just ploughs through everything.

It was an especially good starter character back then. No level requirements on uniques meant this mofo had 5-8 skeletons at level 1

I Typically opt for a +6 bone spear white wand for bone necro which can even come with an added bonus skill if you're lucky or don't mind spending some runes getting it. I suppose it's more 9f a preference along with the added bonus of being able to flex your skill tree a bit.

Is my favourite character. Amazingly fast 8 player murderer in many areas (particularly terrorised first 3 acts ie lower hp totals). When you are doing places like the Flayer Forest or the Pit you can kill hundreds a minute. Very tanky too with the right set up, the gear gives excellent block (max this) defiance aura on merc lots of vitality and bone shield. There is almos never any risk and you wont need bone walls or whatever.

I'd always recommend putting 1 point into every curse skill when you get to Hell difficulty. With the amount of +to all skill bonuses they all get a considerable buff with just 1 point. Amplify Damage removes enemies "Immune to Physical" traits, Lower Resist removes their "Immune to Poison/etc" traits. Even niche curses like Attract can be helpful if you ever find your summons get overwhelmed, it's like causing monsters to flee, only they flee & attack your target instead. 1 point in Iron Maiden is OP against melee bosses too, coupled with Summons or Bone Prison most bosses beat themselves while you kick back & chill. Definitely my favorite class.

Dim vision god tier too. Stops many bulky melee ones from ganging up to you, stops dolls from following you, stops charging skeletons and even souls from shooting lits if you can catch them :p Minions still gets agroed tho if they get close.

Iron Maiden is only godly in Normal difficulty. It's pretty weak in Nightmare and it's totally useless in Hell. Even high level Thorns is useless and Thorns is *much* stronger than Iron Maiden. :(

The White runeword for the bone necro is a must have in a +3 bone spear base wand. Gives +8 to bone spear along with other nice mods. And it's relatively cheap to trade for or make yourself if you can find the +3 base, only costing a Dol and Io.

You can actually shop a +3 bone spear base at Act 2! May take a while but is defenitely worth it!

@@RushAnthem69 He picked good gear but not the best. I think his armor choices are good, but I'd also use a Beast or Faith runeword for the summoner to give minions fanaticism.

my necromancer made 2 years. Mercenary Act 5 2x Last Wish. golem made from pride. necromancer with beast. if you want to do uber max number of cows around 40.

agree again that necro is in my top 3 or so favs to run. although - poison was kinda "meh" to me. Love having those minions though.

I know amp damage is a one point wonder, but I definitely like putting a few points in it to be sure one cast covers the entire screen

I bet the differ. With CE all you need is for that one corpse to be available. Cover the whole map with amp DMG would make the mob pop dead any faster

i run poison necro a little dif. run bone wall instead of golem. But haven't ran a poison necro before the patch that let you keep iron golem.

Am I wrong to think that if we respect, to adjust attribute points for example, the golem dies and therefore the weapon used to create it, insight or even infinity, is lost?

You should try Bramble on the Thorns merc from act 2. It's fun when you Amp up Diablo and when he slaps one of your skeletons he 3-4 shots himself from the Thorns damage.

if you want a COWS farm specific necro, blood golem / max our blood golem with life tap - then he can tank forever while you speed run cows and group as many onto your golem pile as possible then boom CE em and done cleared. entire cows level in 1 pop lol or as many as you feel like rounding up onto your blood golem insure life tap is up and good to go. use any spell bone spear or teeth whatever to get 1 cow dead so u can CE the room in just a couple ce clicks

Since all Cows just do melee attacks; max out your Skeletons + Mastery, get a decent level on Revive and Amplify Damage, Max out Corpse Explosion then couple that with an Act 2 merc with Thorns Aura... Those Cows will slaughter themselves from the Thorns damage and CE cleas up whole screens for you!

Why no summon resist? I always thought that’s a one point wonder, especially with the IG

It seems somewhere down the line all necro builds are CE builds with sprinkles of poison/bone on top.

For the summon necro I would use bramble on merc instead.

Obviously the poison nova was the funnest one so prolly switch from bone spear in nightmare. Ty

I'm probably pretty late on this but clay golem is totally fine to use. You only really want to use an iron golem if you have the expensive items to use for it, which you won't typically have in SP. Clay golem with a decent amount of +skills will have a ton of life and %slowed when hit, so pair that with the decrepify curse and any mob will be moving and attacking like 80% slower, hit weaker, and 50% more weak to physical damage ✌️

You can easily run poison Nova with hoto spirit and skillers. It's slightly less poison % but you can also add +1 to summons, CTA , obedience Merc, and boom you're Hybrid dmg makes up for the poison %. Also lower resist and poison Nova slaps. I got up to about 10k poison dmg no deaths web

A great budget poison nova build weapon is a White runeword with a +3 to poison nova weapon base, which gets you +6 to poison nova.

There's plenty of builds for each character :D. hell, there's even a throw sorceress that wrecks. not as insanely tough as any caster sorc, but it works just fine and can rip through bosses in seconds.

Great budget weapon for a summon necro has to be the hustle runeword. Bumps up dps for summons and merc. Thorns merc is also a great option with the summon necro.

The problem for me, is that every build that has Corpse Explosion essentially becomes a CE build, centered around it. I find it boring, and egregious, because your actual thoughtful build doesn't matter, only CE matters. For necro and for Assassin. Same thing. I avoid CE for these reasons, as I like to make interesting builds. Nice little showcase though, I've wanted to make the Poison Nova Necro for some time, but since i just mained a Plague Javazon this season, I'm not so hyped about more poison so soon. hehe

You left out the best one!! The Full Trangs(& HOTO) Fire Summoner!!! Infinity Merc with Bramble & you melt everything 💀🔥 Sometimes its fun to use Beast & throw out a bear with your revives🐻👹

For the necro, you can use homunculus with moderate dex (200 or so) to hit max block. You can make up the fcr on other gear pieces but it does start getting pricy for high end fcr rings. Having max block and access to magic damage can make the necro a menace. That's my preference.

@unicyclepeon it's an exceptional level unique. I've never target farmed it, but it should be pretty farmable from NM meph, chaos, pindle, or baal. Hell andariel might be a little high level, NM andariel may be a bit low for target farming purposes. It's only like a lvl 42 unique but with massive block rate good skills and resists, it is my favorite all arounder. I'm a sucker for hitting max block any time a 72% shield is a gear option.

Amp is for corpse explosion. Lower resistance used to affect magic damage but not anymore. For 1 point you double your phys damage with amp

No. Sundered brings immunes down to 95% (i.e. they're no longer immune), and the Cantor Trophy (trang oul's wing) brings poison resistance down to 70% from there. Lower resist works at percentage divided by 5 for poison immune monsters.

Doesn't the Iron Golem die a lot? And what if you accidentally cast clay golem? Wouldn't the insight golem be lost, and you would have to craft another?

With max golem mastery and CTA buff this guy is pretty tough. I play with controller and just summon the golem and unbind all golem skills, so this won't happen...again.

@@Kwioresma cool. I';m solo self found in single player, so I have only found a Vex and a Lo, but never the Ohm I would need, so I've never made it. I still have both of those. I occasionally do LK runs and thats how I got those. I guess I should obsess about it and grind until I get an Ohm or another Vex so I can make CTA. Appreciate the response.

You dont need cta on a summon necro. My Trangs Necro's iron golem only dies doing ubers & I dont use it. I have 1 point into Iron Golem, 4 into summon resist & both golem mastery & blood golem maxed for extra life.

Why not 1 point in golem resist?

We just differ in preference, safety I always feel fine behind wall of minions, Poppin bodies faster and moving faster (teleport) I feel help the clear speed more than res.

I'm reviving at least 20 cows any time I'm doing Ubers, and then amp damage and everything just dies

I think there is a lot poison immunity by undead and deamons in d2r.

The poison nova necro has corpse explosion too however with the right gear you wont even need a sunder charm. My one has about -140 poison resist.

Honestly, and I've been saying this for years, they need to nerf the crap out of CE out of existence. Then, they can use that as an excuse to actually make the other necro skills shine. They could buff mages and skellies for reals, they could buff bone spear/spirit/Teeth, they could buff the fire golem damage. I've always loved the necromancer but I've always hated it's absolute reliance on CE for everything. Because at the end of the day all necro builds rely on CE.
