I’m doing video editing, but my friend that films what I’m editing bought the Athena Set, and I have to say that I really like the result. He will also get the 135mm that will be available soon. What a great time to be alive to have access to such high quality products at reasonable price, making filmmaking accessible to more people!

But these lenses are great! Insanely good build quality for the price. I thought I would hate how clinical they are but I quickly learned to love them. Lots of room for experimentation with filters and in post.

I used to think you were able to speak so fast because you had it all preplanned, but after hearing you answer questions at NAB or in Cam’s videos, you can TALK lol. Clear and efficient

I just picked up the 50mm after owning the 25mm and 85mm. Looking forward to the 14mm. Good review !

Thought about getting these for some upcoming projects and just to have. I only really want the 14 25 and 50. But they are harder to get than buying the whole set. I guess I could always sell the lenses separately. Thanks for constantly pushing out these informative vids my man!

Nice lenses. Would get these if it had autofocus. I am tired of the garage auto focus on my Fujifilm X-S20 look at the Sony ZV-E I with Irix 21mm lens

Any thoughts before I go ahead and buy lenses? Has to have auto and manual focus Irix or something for that sort of price point at most. Can't really go higher price due to lack of funds Does not have to be a cine lens. But I want to use it for the full frame with good low light performance with minimal focus breathing with 20% outside video work. Prime lenses are okay with me. Sharp or smooth popping images are fine with me. The DZO looks great as well 27mm - 40mm range preferred as a starting point with Sony. My fave APS-C lens primes are 23mm (preferred for close quarters video recording without fish eye look) and 30mm as secondary. Kind of lost which cine lenses have auto focus or if you know a good standard lens

​@@sparketechNo cine lenses have autofocus, like at all. "Cine" implies manual and you won't see autofocus on any professional film stuff. You could always get a lidar system but that'll get pricey. Photo lenses are the only option if you want autofocus, but almost all photo lenses will have breathing because photography doesn't require this to be corrected when only shooting stills. I'd recommend doing a lot more research before spending money on a set of lenses to figure out exactly what you're priorities are because all budget gear comes with tradeoffs. You just have to decide which tradeoffs matter more to you. Cheers!

Quick note about the PL version of these lenses. NiSi has designed a set of screw on filters for the **rear element** due out at some point over the summer. Except in highly variable conditions they should come in handy. Overall I like these lenses a lot, though there are times when the image is “too” crisp and needs some de-focus either through filters or in post. The new set doesn’t start shipping till July, so if interested, go ahead and get the five lens set and build up from there.

I'm personally confused with the idea of rear screw on filters. Takes more hassle than front screw on filters at this point. On the other hand, drop in filters on mirrorless versions do sound nice.

Any chance you compared them to GM lenses? I haven’t seen any side by sides to compare.

I’m looking at these or the DZO’s as I currently have the old school Samyang/Rokinon VDSLR and I’m wondering if the image is really much of a step up? Yes the build will be better but is it really worth going for a budget Cine lens?
