One of the coolest takeaways from this video is that Nicks offers paternity leave to their employees. Says a lot about companies nowadays that do that, not enough do.

That's called a roofing hatchet. The blade part is still used but years ago it was used to split cedar shakes (shingles). Can also use the blade if you don't have some kinda saw with you to cut out vent holes for roof turbines. Not a pretty hole but works in a pinch and that waffle head will really skin a finger up if you hit it on the hard stroke

This was awesome! I really love these videos you’ve been doing that showcase both US manufacturers and the craftsman who work there. The “pocket check” is an excellent way to open up the dialogue with the folks your talking to and most of the time I forget I’m even watching a pocket check video because these are so much more than just that. Great job guys and hopefully there’s more to come! Now I’ve just gotta decide which boot I want!

@sinkonline I couldn't agree more my friend. As a watchmaker I don't recommend those types of watches and when people ask me what to buy, I always ask what they need it for. I'm just as happy recommending a Casio G-Shock, as something more expensive. In fact for a long time a G-Shock was my main watch. Just like with knives, watches have to be fit for purpose, not just shiny and expensive.

I couldn't live without my Buck 55. It's small, but it's just my fave EDC 😁
A bucket list boot for me .
Amazing as Always
There's nothing better than handmade!
12:01 I used to carry my first knife in my coin pocket too! 🥰 (It also hides well in there, in addition to having your other pockets free and not having to squeeze your hand into the pocket while scraping your hand on your knife lol. Nowadays I carry a lighter in my watch/coin/fifth pocket, plus my smaller and slimmer secondary knife, dedicated for more filigree tasks.) I kinda hate how small the pocket gets when you clip your main knife (not a small and nimble knife) in the regular front pocket. Every time I reach for my phone I am growling a little bit inside.
I’d love to have a pair of Nicks boots but between my size (15EEEE) and price I will keep admiring them from afar. Everyone at the shop seems super chill and a great place to work
Pretty awesome guy at the end there.

I like this pocket check because by and large the knives are no big deal. Really get a blue collar working people kinda vibe from most of the knife choices. At the end of the day it's just a tool to cut stuff no need for bling! Also... Nicks boots didn't know they existed now their on my list for next pair of boots!
