56 is insane, especially with how close Cole was shaving the paper too. Brilliant technique, excellent knife and clearly fantastic sharpness. That man knows his stuff.

If you can manage to not "run out" the edge, I think cutting closer is better. Because the cut off has less total weight, and thus sags less during the cut.
How to not suck at this: 1. Choose a knife with Thin blade stock 2. Also look for something Thin behind the edge 3. Sharpened to really high grit for enhanced push cutting 4. Cut close to where you are pinching the paper 5.Utilize a slicing motion through the paper 6. If all else fails ask to borrow the winners knife
Goes to show that it doesn't really matter if you have a $100+ knife to cut with, it's how you sharpen it and your technique. Great video Zac!

Proof you don't need to spend 100s of dollars to get a good cutting knife. The fact that he won with a $70 Chinese knife makes it even better. Love my elementum!
And I gotta GOTTA give a huge shoutout to Jamie and his creative ability to edit these videos..... its literally pure gold.......I didn't even realize until after it was over.... lol your videos literally make me smile and or laugh almost the entire time watching!!!! Loved this one Zac, awesome technique from Cole, but can't discount how capable the worksharp precision adjust is when used properly.
Great video, like seeing what knives ppl actually have instead of some type of advertisement to sale a specific brand.
it's all about how you hold the paper and orientation to the knife to the paper with straight knife strokes.
Dang, what a great commercial for the Precision Adjust 💪
Zac, thank you for the positive attitude and enthusiasm you bring to all the Blade Shows! This was such a cool challenge and you should do it every year 😂

It's not the knife, it''s not always the person. It's how you holds the paper.! Cowabunga Zac in the Wild.

That 27 guy knows what's up!
Is it just printer paper? How wide was it? Id like to know so i can see how well i can do. This is a great challenge because its a mix of knife sharpness, edge angle and geometry as well as technique. You can have a very sharp knife but if you haven't cut a lot of paper you won't do that well. Prop to the winner for getting 27 and then coming back and doubling his result even when he didn't need to. 55 push cuts without messing up is really impressive.

😂 Sorry to let you down. It wasn’t meant to be, I suppose! I vow to do better next year. I’d vow to do worse, but that would be impossible! 😂
I was watching this and you said its not that easy, try it at home. So no joke I pulled out one of my balisongs and was able to do it like 10 times before i was satisfied. Lol ill see you next year! I was at blade show and didn’t know this was going on
Now that's how you advertise a product !
Fun contest. It seems to be about paper grain and angle of attack. My nakiri kitchen blade would have been a contender! 👍 😃
funny to see the elementum do so well. hollow grinds are great and good geometry and thickness behind edge matter more than steel and polish.
That was a lot of fun!
Which Worksharp model did the winner sharpen on exactly? That's insane
Fun video!
Best I could do was 63 but that was after quite a few attempts and I can say it really isn’t the blade but is the cutting technique because I never actually sharpened it but still managed it. Attempts: roughly 6
If the winner already had the system, did he take that home, or did he do the bro thing and pass it down to second place?
Thanks for the fun content. I have to make it to blade show ( especially because I’m only about 4 hours away ). Maybe next year. Ps . Happy fathers to all the dads out there !
Brilliant 👏
should have done a training montage for the dude that came back 3 times, how is he supposed to epically win at the end without a training montage?!
Glad everyone liked the scissors!! I’ll be back next year for redemption!!!😉😁
Great!😃👍

scissors guy for the win lol
I’m definitely doing this next year
My buck 110 still slices better than all my other knives... Can't beat their hollow grind
I would've chosen the button lock elementum as well.
One is for sure, forget the factory edge! Find a really thin convex.
Pretty awesome the knife that won was sharpened on the precision adjust 😂
*best compesition ever i would beat all with my light sword* 😂

@@davidh9585 my Dad sharpened it for me on the original precision adjust elite. He used a 17° angle I believe.
Poor Harrison, but he have to know these striders are thick as a crowbar and the factory angels on them are 23-25 ° per side they are anything other than slicey

I take full blame for my performance! As you saw, I came back with the Big Idea Design Ti Pocket Knife on day 3. It’s got a thicker blade stock, too, but comes down to a nice hollow grind BTE. It was strictly technique that hindered me! 😂
