These all sounds nice but i have come to a point where enough is enough! We are talking about opportunities for which we have to pay monthly fee to find and these opportunities i have to pay also a fee to apply, transportation for me and my works, accomodation, living costs etc. Why do we still call these opportunities? All these situation makes an artist to have to find a high payed job (which comes of course with lots of responsibility) so that i can pay for the "opportunities" the art world gives us. How does the art world expect to find great art when you have just excluded all artists with low income background? I believe today only people who come from money can be successful in the art world and that just makes me angry!

It also seems that it may be more important to "talk the talk" rather than "walk the walk". This may sound judgemental but I've seen pieces that I felt were not very good but when hearing the artist's interpretation it seemed to me that they were selling themselves or their point of view. Just my thought???

@@katt9402 No of course there are many artists out there that put more effort in the talk than the making itself! But my point was about all these so called opportunities that exclude people with a low income background.

Hi there, thank you for tuning in! I would focus on all different types of art opportunities. Apply to exhibition open calls, awards, residencies, and grants, as long as they are specifically for your level, as instructed in the video. Artenda provides additional online courses on how to apply for them as well. Hope this might help!

Hello! Thank you for sharing this informations. For the past 8 years I have been painting and creating portraits as an hobby but I fell it is time to give the next step and I have been watching all your videos. Looks like I hve so much home work to do.. it is true that an artist just spends 20% of the time creating and 80% marketing himself :(

depends on the quality / attractiveness / freshness of the work, artworks which are not standing above the crowd, will require more marketing effort.

I would say the balance is 80% art, and 20% networking. There is indeed a lot of information and a lot of homework, but once you get these things out of the way, great things can happen. I'll do my very best to provide a clear way to do this with the channel and the CAI platform. Stay tuned and wishing you all the best!

Most of the open calls in this video were without application fees. The €3,50 for the subscription means drinking one coffee less at a coffee bar per month, and it can greatly benefit your search for art opportunities. You can try it out for free for 30 days. If you don't feel it's worth it, that's entirely up to you. All I can say is I believe it is more than worth it!
