These Fathers Break Their Silence on Abortion

There are 55 Million forgotten men in this country who also bear the scars of abortion? These men need to share their stories so that they can show others there’s a better choice. In this amazing new video four men are stepping up to do exactly that.
As part of this #ChooseFatherhood campaign, we’re going to share a new story every day through Father’s Day, and we’re asking you to be a part of this!
If you’re a post-abortive father and feel like telling your story please use the hashtag: #ChooseFatherhood

My brother got a girl pregnant, he was so happy, but she aborted the baby behind his back. It devastated him. He's now 58, never married, & says there's not a day that goes by, that he doesn't think about that baby. It heavily affected him.

When my mother found out she was pregnant with me and didn't know if she'll abort me, my father said that if she didn't want to raise me, he'd raise me by himself. They married two months before I was born, and my father left his country to be with us. I'm now 26, and I also have a younger brother. I wish there were more men out there like my father.

My brother & his girlfriend both wanted the baby. Her parents would have nothing to do with it. Told her if she didn’t abort they were through with her. She couldn’t get past that & as my brother walked up & down the street banging his hands on his head his child was killed. Imagine how powerless a father feels when he can do nothing to save his child from unnecessary death. 💔 God bless the men who try🙏😇👶

I had an unplanned pregnancy 12 years ago while in college. I was unhinged by the news. I had no one else to turn to when everyone around me was pushing for a ‘quiet, easy abortion.’ One person said, ‘if I were you, I couldn’t give up my education for a baby.’ It was then I realised I couldn’t give up my baby for an education. Your life and your education doesn’t stop after kids - you take them along for the ride instead.

I took care of him after he was born Than gave him up for adoption. I'm so glad I had the courage to give him life. It was only four months out of my life when I found out I was pregnant. What always bothered me about the pro-choice movement is this: when a woman is not ready to have a baby she will refer to the life inside her as a fetus, not a baby, not a living being and she will abort; but when that same woman becomes pregnant again and she feels ready to start a family, suddenly the life inside of her is a baby, a living being, and needs to be protected at all costs. @Lacy Monster First off, let me start off by saying, I can't even imagine what that is like. I've only been told. But second, I know there is a merciful, sympathetic God who loves you very deeply. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. I know its very easy to feel ashamed, pathetic, broken and lost. Undeserving. I fail him everyday. But the amazing thing is that, nomatter how many times we come up short, he is ready and willing to forgive us and recieve us with open arms, we need only to repent. Yes he is a just God, but He also offers grace. Do we deserve it, no. But how amazing is he for still loving us the same. We will all one day be held to an account, and we will face the Lord for what we have done, which plainly comes down to is our disobedience/sin. But for those that know him as their Lord and savior, he has offered us the gift of eternal life with him. John 3:16. I hope you know that Lacy, nomatter what you have done, its never to late to seek repentance. We will always have scars from our past, but through Christ, our sin doesnt define us anymore. We are made new in Him. Again, I cant imagine what that is like, but I do know that He deeply still loves you. I hope this rings true to you. Just said a prayer for you. ❤ If you'd like to talk more, I am open anytime.

Amazing. You know, I’ve been in that position of a pregnant, frightened girl knowing the father would not stick around. I toiled with adoption and abortion (even though I knew abortion was wrong). The amount of fear I had was pushing me to consider it. My mother had also been diagnosed with terminal cancer shortly after finding out I was pregnant. At that point in my life I thought having a kid was the last thing I needed. I also knew that I would regret killing my child. My daughter is now 6 years old and her father never stepped up to help. I moved to be near family and with their help went to college and became an RN. Being a single mother is hard but not as hard as I thought it would be. God gives me enough strength each day to get through it. It is making me a better person. My mom passed away 1 month before my daughter was born and I would have never survived the grief if I didn’t have this little baby to get up and take care of. Instead of giving into fear I gave it up to God and He has never let me down! God is bigger than your worst situation.

He was visibly still very broken about it and wished he had tried harder to stop her. A few years later I saw he had written a letter to the editor about it, then a while after that I saw that he had died. He was only in his early twenties..... Men, please get forgiveness and forgive yourselves, you still have alot to give to the world, and your testimony can help others....

I have some male friends, at least three cases who experienced it... it was very heart breaking to hear their stories.. When people hear abortions, they automatically imagine “rape” or “men ran away” and “victimized women”.. But seems like there are some/many cases that men are the ones who actually want to keep the baby but women... Woman’s right.. woman’s body.. What about man’s right as a father of the baby? ...In japan, not mandatory but both men and women have to sign for abortions to prove both agreed to it.

okametiger you know I’ve been investigating and looking into this subject a lot more lately and this is the first video I’ve seen where it ever mentions the impacts it has on the fathers. I was actually caught off guard, it wasn’t something that had occurred to me yet. I’m so used seeing only one side of the story... but you are absolutely right. It took two to make that child and that’s where the entire argument about women’s choice falls short and is unacceptable. I’m so sorry about your friends and what they’ve experience, whatever the reason. Hearing these testimonies felt incredibly heavy I can’t even begin to imagine the pain this has caused..

A baby has a mother and a father, they have extended family, community and society. They are us, they are our society. Just because a woman might be in bad circumstances or simply not want that baby does not mean that it is okay to kill the baby. It is not merely her baby. It is the father's baby, it is someone's grandchild, someone's cousin, someone's niece or nephew, someone's future best friend and lover. Who else can we kill with no consequences? Who else can we kill to unburden ourselves?

an unborn child is a person and everything you said is correct about them being someone's baby, a grandchild, cousin, niece or nephew, etc. but i want to address the question you asked at the end of your post. the sad fact is that we can kill our loved ones who are sick. it's called hospice, and it is actually assisted suicide. back in the 1990s, Jack Kevorkian, also known as "Dr. Death," battled to change the law here in the U.S. to allow "assisted suicide." but most people did not agree with a doctor killing a patient, so to get around that, they started something known as "hospice." the evils of hospice are absolutely horrifying. unthinkable. people should research the beginnings of it and understand what it truly is. today, hospice is encouraged to the elderly who aren't even sick! a dear old man at my church, who was 83, was talked into going on hospice by nursing staff and social workers when he went to the emergency room for chest pain. they put him down. his daughter still suffers greatly because of his death. she is the one who told me that he wasn't even sick. but after they nagged him to go on hospice, he gave up the will to live. i worked at hospitals for 40+ years. i can tell you from personal experience how health care workers today are encouraged to kill as many on hospice as they can, as a means of population control. get rid of the sick or elderly or even mentally deficient, who are just taking up space and resources on our planet! i have very little doubt that both my beloved husband and my angel mother would still be alive today, had they not been started on hospice. the hospital social workers talked my husband into going on hospice because his heart and lungs were both bad, he would have needed a double transplant. he was only 47 years old. a Christian doctor begged my husband not to go on hospice, but he did anyway. where they overdosed him until he was dead. my precious mother had Alzheimer's disease. though she had had Alzheimer's for many years, she was still not at the end of her life. she had always exercised and took good care of herself. she did not smoke or drink. she was healthy apart from her poor mind... i truly believe she still recognized us, she just couldn't voice it. but she snapped her fingers to music. she smiled and laughed. but my sister had the 'power of attorney' and decided it was time to put my mother down, like a dog. i will spare you the horrifying details, but they put her to sleep a little bit every day, overdosed her until she was dead. that is the true, horrifying fact of hospice. do not ever start your loved one on hospice, unless they are ready to die and they want it... and even then, is it ethical for us to decide to kill ourselves, so we don't have to suffer until GOD takes us home? i suppose that is a question between the person and GOD. i don't want to suffer! but can i kill myself? i don't think i can according to my faith in JESUS CHRIST. but in our world today, you can decide to die by "assisted suicide," also known as hospice. i know there are many who say i am cruel because their loved ones are suffering greatly, and without hospice, that suffering would be prolonged and worsened... i understand all that, but because a person is suffering, can we murder them? it's the same as the unborn child. it's still a life.

The idea of any child related to me, such as one of my nieces or nephews, being sucked apart in a tube is appalling and deplorable. I would gladly pay thousands, even if it meant going deep in debt and selling everything, to stop such a crime. If an organization like Planned Parenthood was pragmatic, they could probably receive more funding through donations to pay and encourage women to choose life, and to give the child up for adoption if they don't want the responsibility. Not to mention, if the government didn't subsidize organizations like them, that money could be given to new mothers instead. The lies about adoption don't help. Just being born in America alone gives a child more opportunity than half the world.

And if you’re a father encouraging the mother to get an abortion, you need to step up and be a man. Raise that child.. I’d do anything to be a father to that baby. I’m bawling my eyes out in the parking lot right now waiting for her to get done.. I assumed responsibility for an unplanned pregnancy when I was a junior in college. I found out many years later that it was "planned" all along by the woman involved, and in her warped mind, her thinking was that I would marry her and fall in love and take care of her for the rest of her life. We did marry, but only to get her--and our daughter--out of a dangerous crime ridden part of the city she was living in. We soon divorced and I completely re-arranged all aspects of my life to the long term responsibility of fatherhood. I will be 60 in six months, and as I look back on the situation now, I really, really, really love being a dad. I learned that failure brought me to a faith I would have never had, and life is so good. Thanks for reading.

Finally! To hear the pain and loss that comes for men when they lose their child. I think there’s a social perception that the men don’t care. What a relief to hear the truth and for these brave men to share and genuinely express how they were impacted. I can see that their emotions in the video are just a fraction of their pain.

My girlfriend found out she was pregnant at 22 (I was 24), we were in a loving relationship and adored each other. She decided on a termination mostly on the grounds that her mother was pregnant when they got married and didn't want to bring shame on her family. At the time I supported her and her choice to have a termination. Shortly after she moved to another country for work experience, it was only meant to be for a short while and I was still in college but the distance was too great & she decided we brake up. That was in 1990 and while I married and have 3 beautiful children I am like the first guy, when people ask how many children I have I secretly say 4. There was some counselling before the termination and I was not included only my ex girlfriend, there isn't a day goes by that I don't feel guilt and regret that I couldn't protect all my children. One month ago I bumped into a mutual friend that I hadn't seen in over 25 years, she told me my ex girlfriend never married or never had children, still lives abroad and I have to say that it didn't make me happy to hear this.

Everyone woman I know who had an abortion when they were young are completely screwed up women later in life. One of my family members had three abortions and she became an alcoholic from her early 20's and never had children later in life. She still cries about it and that was 30 years ago. My boyfriend and my ex husband both had previous relationships with women who had abortions and they had alot of emotions about the loss of these children. They were both very young, but it's never left their hearts and minds. The girls made the choice in both of their situations...it was not a joint decision. People really need to think about what they are doing...it's a life...it's murder...it will haunt you in this life and for eternity.

Just as many men care others don't just like many women. My dad and I have met people, both men and women who have regretted having children and they wish they never did. They said they never found happiness on having children. So, I guess not everyone's born to become a parent.

  • @MistyEry

I think that is the issue. If people are seeking happiness and only live to please themselves above all else and at the expense of other individuals. There is a deeper root at hand. They are essentially selfish individuals to the core. Perhaps they had children for the wrong reasons ( appearance sake , etc) parenting is difficult and was never promised to be easy. However I will agree with you that not all People should have children. Narcissistic individuals should not have children. If they can make one good selfless choice, giving adoption would be it and ensuring they do not get pregnant.

@@MistyEry yes this did happen. He now has his beautiful teenage daughter and 4 other children. She did lose her parental rights. When they went to court to keep her from aborting the baby, her lawyer let her speak and she did the entire speech on how it was her body and she would do what ever the F she wanted etc. She had a history of going in and out of the the mental health home. The judge essential put her under house arrest and she had to be escorted everywhere. Before baby was born she told the judge she wanted nothing to do with 'It". He granted Brandon custody. He paid all her hospital fees, living expenses etc. After baby was born, her and her lawyer then tried to keep the baby and even had the guts to ask for child support etc in their court papers. The judge denied it, Brandon got full custody. And Bella lives to her name sake, she is beautiful, bright, extremely selfless and caring, she is a talented equestrian and skilled Archer. It was a huge deal when all of this happened, because in Illinois the mother is almost always awarded custody, even if she is not suited to care for children. I do believe It was the fact that the mother had a history of mental instability that helped the just initially deny her to terminate the pregnancy.
