Tor'ture methods and equipment was NOT unique to the Medieval period. This is a Misconception. The Spanish inqui'sition was to do with the Roman empire weeding out it's critics (mainly protestant Christians) and labelling them as "Heretics" and putting them to Dea'th under the worst of conditions.
