@@vincent7674My high school soccer teammate who just started track in one month of traing ran 10.9 . Considering mbappe as a player is faster I think he goes faster with blocks and spikes. And mondo track gives better feedback than turf and cleats by far so I think he would open with 10.7/8 and with a full season 10.4/5

Apparently it was calculated with top end speed only, which makes him probably slower. Altho it still was on the field.

I'm a track and field fan but I hate how others in the community act towards impressive speed in other sports. This time was run in the middle of a 7 mile jog on grass when the primary goal wasn't to run as fast as he possibly could but just to get himself into the best possible position. In that context the time is incredibly impressive especially when you consider that Mpabee trains more for change in direction than he does straight line speed and trains more like a distance runner than a sprinter. He clearly is genetically gifted enough that if his primary focus in life was to be a sprinter he would have been competitive at a high level. I wish more track and field fans could be appreciative of the talent in other sports instead of gatekeepers of times that aren't even comparable. All that accomplishes is turning off other sports fans from wanting to engage with the track and field community.

It's so stupid of people to think Mbappe is "slow" compared to track people. He is literally considered one of the fastest players in the world in the most popular sport in the world and one of his biggest strengths is speed. The comparison might be inaccurate, but it is the track runners who take it literally who just don't get the point.

It was in a game; Mbappe can run upwards of 39km/hr while turning around and looking at a ball, keep in mind the length of a soccer field is approximately 105m, and he's not running from goal post to goal post. It's the media teams fault for not realizing a 10.9sec 100m is not super fast.

Shit man I gotta say as someone who isn't super into the track and field world and only really watched Total Running Productions, finding your channel has been a breath of fresh air. Every time I watch a TRP video I feel like I'm listening to a script written by a student trying to cram in as many words as possible to meet their word count. Just from his latest video: "Jackson and Richardson have raced over the 100m distance a total of 9 total times." And another one I noticed recently that was pretty rough: "Tebogo's power really comes from his ability to remain so relaxed and so powerful at the same time." Seems like every video has a few like this. Also his click thumbnails and titles are the worst. Don't want to shit all over the guy since I'm glad he makes running videos, but man he could really take a few tips from you and slow down the daily content farm in favor of quality.
