Hey, Tokyo Blur is peak. It's an easy Top 10 for me. People just diss on Wave 1 tracks because they have skill issue on it and/or do not want to get better at it, cope with it before making a statement and then you will know how MK8DX really works.

@@pabloqp Paris is lackluster and hardly any fun at all, Coconut Mall is okay and while Ninja Hideaway is one of the better tracks too, I personally think Tokyo Blur gets more dislikes than normal which isn't fair. It's like having a starter's track but 100 times better with different laps and is still fun, short and simple overall. Tokyo Blur is still my favorite track from Wave 1.

Here's my stance on Baby Park summarized: When a track is more fun by holding the B button instead of the A button, there's a fundemental flaw in the track. Also, to those who say Toad Circuit is THE most boring track in the series, Figure-8 Circuit from MKDS looks at you.

at least in Figure-8 circuit you can try to snaking to gain speed, but in all the other mentions, no.... I actually hate Toad Circuit too, even in 7 I didn't like it that much, most of the time in that game it was choosen beacuse people just clicked the "a" button to play right away.

​ @martodila Yes, you can snake on the track. But that's something more to do with the mechanics of DS as a game engine, as opposed to the track itself. Because by that logic, every track in a game where you love its mechanics is better because you can play using said game's mechanics.

@@shadowmamba95 The only good thing about Figure-8 Circuit is the music but even then Mario Circuit is in, at least the better track got the well-deserved remix and is less of a reason for Figure-8 Circuit to have been added. Then again F8C has 8 in the name, so does MK8DX...

Y'know what track gets TOO MUCH hate? 3DS Neo Bowser City. I love how you're always millimetres away from a potentially race ending mistake by hitting the wall! It's exhilarating on 200cc especially! It also forces you to brake drift, making that mechanic far more useful than on other more wide tracks like Toad Circuit. Also pissing about with golden mushrooms and smart steering is hilarious!

See, you just answered your own question. Its worth noting that a lot of people who play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe hate actually playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Most people refuse to see this game as having any sort of skill ceiling, because "This isn't a game you should be trying to get good at.", or something along those lines. I could definitely word that in a lot more detail, but that's about the nicest way I can word that take.

I actually don't mind toad circuit, apart from the bad graphics that plagues most of the DLC. I never played the 3ds version or whatever, so maybe that helped me enjoy it. It feels like a mario kart track.

MK8D is definately the weaker version of the two. Aside from the bad graphics, its just plopped straight into the BCP as opposed to being the starter course of the game. Combined that with MK8D being centered around mini turbos and MK7 isnt means theres not too much you do on the track until the last 10 seconds of lap 3. Its just there for me but its a farcry from the MK7 version.

I think that it fills a niche as the only track in the game that is a regular NASCAR-esque speedway. Mario Kart Stadium and the Mario Circuits all have some sort of gimmick or theming that keeps them from filling that niche.

I agree on everything except Toad's Turnpike. Online-wise, it can be difficult because of item spamming and traffic, specially in the last section of the track. If you are able to go wide and cover yourself, you can exploit this track nicely.

I'll never understand why people say it's obvious Sky High Sundae was made for tour. I can see where they're coming from but I disagree that it's acceptable there, because honestly I think it works 100x worse there. Since Tour has autotricks there is literally no reason as to why a track like that should exists since you're literally just moving in straight line doing nothing with 2 turns. Wheras in 8 the low gravity gives so much freedom with rouets you can do to grab items, the crazy 200cc shortcut, the poles being spin boosts is weird but genius as it makes those sections far more interesting, none of this is in Tour. It's definately not made for MK8 either but I think they made some clever decisions that made it become an interesting track. Don't get me wrong, I understand why it's so unpopular. But I like it, and I just don't understand the "it's good in tour but not 8" argument in the slightest.

i feel sundae is made for tour the same way trick and r/t courses are made for tour and wouldn't really work anywhere else, since i'd feel they're meant for you to just endlessly trick, which while done automatically, also works with the scoring system of the game since you gain points for point combos so your main goal is to both stay on the optimal lines to maximize your combo and use the items to increase and extend the combo even further i still think sundae could've been a much better track and imo they could have done more, even if just by incorporating turns and stuff, since drifts also count towards the combo. also part of why i don't think them cutting like half of the turns in sky garden is a very strange decision, but eh. and besides, it still isn't excitebike (though it's cut from the same cloth of being trickfests) so it is by default far from the worst track in the game

Can't believe Alpine Pass / Rock Mountain didn't make this list. I'd also guess Rosalina's Ice Trash would have a chance of making it but it was still new and shiny when people were rating it last year

Completely agree with Rock Rock Mountain. It's SOOOOO boring. You spend like, 1 third of the track gliding (basically doing nothing), another third just driving straight (basically also nothing unless you like snaking), and the other third is actually playing (basically only the start and the big shortcut near the end)

Here's the thing, put Toad Circuit as the first track in the Shell cup and suddenly it's fine. The problem is that it's in the booster course pass over so many better 3ds tracks.

I can excuse toad circuit being what it is due to it being a first course in the mushroom cup course. But this isn't the case for the other tracks so there's no such excuse for the other 4, especially sky high sundae which is the last track of wave 2

I lose my faith in humanity whenever Sunshine Airport is in the voting but people pick Excitebike Arena instead

I still hate excitebike, but at least it's a little bit different each time

all of these tracks suck so i can't complain about this list but i genuinely don't understand how anyone could rank dry dry desert outside of the bottom 5

Four of the five of my bottom five tracks appeared in this video with N64 Rainbow Road being the only one that’s not here. I can understand it not making it here as there are a decent amount of people who put a huge emphasis on visuals and presentation.

I used to like N64 RR because there was a glitch route, but they removed that at some point during the DLC

Just my 2 cents on the formatting of the video if we're doing all 96. It took me a second at the start to figure out if we were counting up, starting at 96, or starting at 91 going down to 96. If this is a series working up to number 1, maybe next time just do tracks 91-80 and have them listed as such, and do it in blocks of 10 so the videos are longer than 5 minutes too. P.s. I voted Baby Park as the worst and I'm one of those weirdos who picks Excite bike arena online.

imo sky high sundae is a track with a ton of potential, they just need to stop spamming trick ramps, turn some of those into actual paths and turns and with the theme it's gonna be one of the sickest maps in mario kart also l1am is not gonna be happy with this video

I'm surprised Dry Dry Desert isn't here. Layout is boring, Music is uninteresting, Aesthetics are visually repetitive, and most of the road is very slippery which makes for the most unfun and unsatisfying drive ever. You can't even race through it normally cuz it's such a heavy bagging track. This is the only track I never wanna play on under any circumstances.

I was pretty indifferent to sky high sunday, but played with a group of friends the other day(which i usually dominate because i watch all the bayesic videos 😉) and i got brutalized with items, finally got passed by another player who is fairly good, it was then after my brain did a quick rundown of the track that i realized there really wasnt anything i could do to fill that gap 🤔. No small shortcuts or nisc i could take advantage of. Just completed the race praying for an item that never came. And thats how i came to hate sky high sunday lol.

I don’t hate toads turnpike. I don’t like most of it, but I like the shortcut at the end. It’s fun, and the only redeeming quality. Unlike some other tracks *toads turnpike*

I’m gonna be honest. I mostly play grand prixs, time trials, and with friends(no bagging or high level play), so I disagree with most of this list. I love baby park with friends and Excitebike is such a nice reference to the game it’s based off of. If I were playing online, I could see where the hate comes from

Where is SNES Mario circuit 3?

Welp I just added 5 tracks to my time trailing list

If the time trial is fun, I tend to enjoy the course. Online play was a low (if even existent at all) factor in how I ranked the courses, and I'm still not sure where to rank the full 96 courses relative to one another. For these reasons, I consider Excitebike Arena to be somewhere in the middle of the 96 courses overall. "Given how awesome Waves 5 and 6 were" I won't argue against Wave 6 being awesome, but Wave 5 is another story entirely. Admittedly, most of my complaints about Wave 5 are confined to one particular course (Los Angeles Trash, for which I won't bother listing my complaints because KZread won't let me submit a comment *that* long) and how the update screwed up the interaction of rotating triple items (which leads to my only complaint about Wave 6, which is that it failed to correct this issue), but Daisy Cruiser (which I still enjoy) relies on nostalgia and some small underwater sections to maintain interest beyond a single race, Sunset Wilds is still missing the #GroupHug from the Shy Guys (I never really cared about the sun setting from lap to lap, but that might have made the course better for several other players), and the physics for the tube section of Koopa Cape seem wildly inconsistent (even on time trials). Wave 5 is still by far the worst wave of the Booster Pass, and if anything, the wave has gotten even worse than it already was.

Guess I just gotta disagree on wave 5. Moonview sucks, LA and sunset are alright, but every other track is B tier or higher for me which is not usually the case for most waves

Personally I don't feel like there is really a significant advantage to bagging on baby park, there are always gonna be people a lap behind in my experience, and therefore the first places get hit as much as the middle and last places. I really like it, not as much or in the same way as some other tracks, but it makes my top 20. I never not have fun when playing baby park

Toads Turnpike(along with Cheep Cheep beach for some reason) it took me a good bit just to beat the staff ghost on 200cc lol. Was legit tough. didn't want to resort to some course specific build I would never use otherwise. Now admitattnly I say this as someone who is wayyy more casual than the typical Bayesic-trainee, but I personally like Excitebike and Baby Park if not for their uniqueness alone. They really stand out in a game with nearly 100 tracks in which some of the tracks are really generic and forgettable. But everyone for sure knows those two. I can see why someone who takes the game seriously and wants skill to matter as much as possible rather than moments of chance wouldn't like them, but just wanted to give perspective from the other side as to how anyone could like them. 😅

Toad circuit does not deserve this It's my favorite track.

Honestly of these only Toad Circuit is in my bottom 5 and it's only there because it just shouldn't have been picked for the BCP.

baby park is the worst track for me because it just doesnt work at all. it was a great track in double dash cuz getting hit in that game wasnt that bad which made the chaotic intent with the items fun and enjoyable. but in mk8d, getting hit makes u lose all ur speed which makes the chaos only frustrating. the physics in this game are also very tight which really helps remind u that u are playing on "14 drifts the track"

If you swap sky high sundea and with sunset wilds I would 100% agree. I acknoglege the flaws the track has but the theming and music just go too hard for me to really dislike it.

If we're airing out grievances, I hate Moo Moo Meadows. People keep camping for items and using lightning. Now nobody gets items for half the track. Plus, it's just a boring oval. Music's not that great, either. I'll take Excitebike Stadium everyday of the week! It's got tricks and a great song!

I like the fact that you can drive on top of the cars on turnpike. I'm thinking it's so low because it's a track good for inward & most players are outward which makes them do bad on it.

There's not enough inward players to affect the results of the outward players. It's just a really boring track.

I'll say it again, New York Minute and Baby Park should NEVER have existed. The two worst tracks of all time and absolutely belong in hell. Not fun at all whatsoever. Even Excitebike is better than both of them by lightyears.

Any of the Tour tracks are worse than these listed IMO. Changing courses each lap? That is not fun and not Mario Kart. Plus despite them all being different they all feel the same for some reason.

The bottom 48 should be the booster course pass in its entirety. Ugly, lazy graphics. Janky, lazy ports from Tour as a quick money grab. Inconsistency with the original maps in terms of mechanics (for example - if Water Park was made during the BCP instead of base game, you can bet for sure those early stairs would’ve been trickable). Tooooo many city tracks (should’ve been zero). Inferior music. Many tracks with long, boring straightaways. A crazy number of bagging tracks. That’s my take. People can like it, of course - their opinion. But even if someone likes it, they can’t deny it’s objectively lower effort than the base game. Even maps that could’ve worked well in Mk8dx - like sky garden - just had the ugly tour layout get added in instead. I’d have much rather had better online functionality than the 48 bcp tracks. The game lags like it’s 2002, which Nintendo should be genuinely embarrassed about, considering it’s a relatively basic 12 person racer.

I definetly don't think any courses from the original game should be on the list tbh. Some of the booster courses are just super lazy compared to the originals and its definitely a level down in quality overall. still happy that they came out though and I do enjoy most of them.
