These would be perfect without worrying my sneakers getting ruined from the water and dirt or my socks getting wet. Basically an everyday sneakers when going to work in rainy days and still having heat with them J’s.. Cus my 700 mnvn bluetint is already dirty af cus of the rain! Here in the middle of the US, we encounter wildly different weather conditions pretty much year round. Lots of rain, lots of snow (usually), so a shoe that I can wear without worrying if my socks get wet, I'm all for it. I dont consider it a gimmick at all, as people's daily sneaker choices do depend on things like weather. Now, the AJ1 "prototype" was definitely a gimmick. Lol

No gimmicks here…think it was very smart of them to come out with a waterproof jordan 1 as we know the drastic changes in climate that we see in the states alone and to mention the rest of the world! Weather and climate is so diverse from one state to the next that the gortex waterproof Jordan 1 elements make so much sense to people like myself who live in a state like MN where the weather can change drastically from one day to the next…..

@@makaveli1969 not sure what material the grey part is, but first time I got a little water on them, it left a huge water stain. May keep feet dry, but it clearly dirtys up the material. The entire sneaker should've been Gore-Tex.

Just have to say for the practicality of the gore-tex aj1s: I love in Hawaii, and rain is really inconsistent here. When it rains, it rains hard. If the school day looks rainy, throwing these on wouldn’t be the worst idea 🤷‍♂️

these don't seem a great option for long walks since the Gore-Tex material seems pretty stiff (I've worn mine twice for an average of 4 hours and the little walking I did was really uncomfortable)

It’s snows a lot here in the Midwest and it’s a pretty clean shoe and for being a waterproof shoe that’s amazing

@@michaelmastri651most pictures I saw before buying made it look like a true pine green and it pretty much is for the most part. Maybe a shade or two darker. The grey portion(heel panel) is your regular grey. Same as any grey sweats and the swoosh is a reflective grey material. Turns white when lights are on it. Shoe overall is straight fire and is probably neck and neck with the Bred Toe for me.

I so love the air Jordan craft which are on 18th December, but I live in Russia so I guess “gore tex” would be better.. btw are they warmer then usual 1?

I think these would be very practical for someone in my position. I work on boats and I love the aj1! And the boats I work on are usually high end boats and it is a lot of on water work so these would be perfect! We will see if and when I pick some up!

These are TTS, but I found the Gore-Tex upper uncomfortably pressing against my toes when walking (as opposed to regular-leather J1s, which are very comfy). I've worn them twice and feels like they're starting to loosen up a bit. On top of that, these are much warmer than leather J1s, which is part of the idea, being waterproof. I don’t think it’s a gimmick at all. Goretex is all over jackets and clothing in the PNW of the US, it’s only fitting Nike made a pair of AJ1s to deal with all the rain where their company HQ is.

Do the waterproof coat wear off? Here in Guatemala they're $275 so I wanna be sure they'll last for at least 2 years using them only on the raining season (2-3 months a year)

This is all well and good but what's really bothering me is, why didn't Tarzan have a beard? Why Roots? Why!

Saw these at Jimmy jazz in my size like two months after they released. Went home thinking I would see them again the next week and I’ll buy them but when I returned they were gone 🤦‍♂️ so I had to just get them on StockX. Luckily I didn’t pay too much over retail but the fees really inflated the total price. Jordan 1s are a really popular silhouette right now which is why I believe Nike is trying all the “gimmicks” with the model even though for me it doesn’t feel like a gimmick cause I’ve been wanting a stylish shoe that I can wear on a wet day without sacrificing style

I don't find that they crease as much, as it's not the same material you usually find on jordan 1's

In Washington it rains so much so these would be perfect

You can wash your car in them and have a nice high top shoe to wear while you’re doing it.👍🏻

I don’t get these tbh if weather is gonna be that bad there are far better options than Jordan 1s - esp in that light colour which will mess up fast
