I'm in CT so valleys, slopes, and bowls are nearly unavoidable. I also happen to be hunting in suburbia. Scent control routine is good and really as long as my human stink is less than the area's baseline and I'm not upwind with a steady wind these spots can work. The hardest thing I find with this terrain is not being at deer eye level 30 or more yards out but being high above the spot I'm hunting!

Good informative video, stand placement is so important for mature bucks. I have 2 stands 30 yards apart. People ask why, because if a north or south wind I can hunt this hot travel corridor. I've shot some nice bucks in those stands but most people just want to hang a stand where they see lots of sign and not see how or why to hang a stand off the hot trail and get back in the woods a little to catch bucks scent trailing for does. Like hunting food plots, get back in the timber and hunt transition areas where bucks hang out until dark. Good video.

Same here. Each property I hunt has multiple stand locations to be able to hunt the spot no matter the wind. I have seen some interesting stand locations. One had the hanger right at the intersection. When I started hunting there moved about 20yds off the intersection and up slope so I'm only 15 up but about 25ft over the trails. Another was the ladder stand.. with the legs RIGHT ON THE DEER TRAIL! My fav though was on state land where the hanger was hung in the middle of a bedding area.

It’s definitely all about sent and getting in and out , i try to stay down wind with stands and paths to stands from deer activity

Thanks for the tips. Hunting for the first time on my dads small property (5 acres). If i can get a stand right beside his house that would oversee two food plots and some visibility of property line clearing path towards the neighbors man made pond. Also would not leave a scent out near the plots. 😆👍🏾, its all working out in my head but i know reality is something else lol.

I do unless there’s a stand that is super low impact that I can see pretty far. Then I’ll tend to hunt that more often then I would if I had to get much closer with my bow.
