My wife came up with a fun way for me to use more of my palettes. We pick a new one for me to use every week - so I should at least use around 50 this year, and I get something new to play with every week! She doesn’t wear makeup but has fun picking my palettes with me ☺️

This is a good idea. For me, I tend to dip into multiple palettes in one look. Maybe I should challenge myself to use them each a week at a time.

That is utterly adorable and so cute that she's gotten involved in your interest!!! I wish my partner could be a trusted palette picker but he would totally, unintentionally, pick the autumn palettes for spring and the summer palettes for winter lol

i haven’t used most of my palettes in a while either. i think complex eyeshadow just isn’t the vibe these days and we all know our favourites in our collections. it’s okay to not use every single thing you have. but good to be mindful of why that may be and to use that knowledge to inform declutters and future purchases ☺️

Funny that Kelly Gooch literally just posted about the "eyeshadow is dead" "trend" just as you post this! Just use what you love.

I've stopped buying pallets for this reason. I would need it , use it a few times, then only use it here and there for one shade. I just try buying singles in shades i will actually use .

I wish it was practical for me to do eye looks more than once a day. I love my collection and 365 days is not enough to give everything the attention it deserves.

I love that you're concious of this. I started recording my usage (inspired by you) & so far there's only 1 l haven't used. I have 20 & wouldn't want any more than that. Even with that many most have only been used 1 or 2 times as l favour singles. I'm going to start pulling one out a week to focus on. I want to get more use out of what l have, otherwise it's nothing more than wasteful.

I think I would like to bring my collection down to 20-25! That sounds like the sweet spot.

I’ve found that I don’t wear eyeshadow everyday anymore because I really like just putting my blush on my eyelids for everyday, but I’ve been having a super fun time recently getting back into fun eyeshadow looks. My favorite thing is matching my eyeshadow to my outfit and I feel like that makes it more wearable as well! Love your videos.❤❤

I've been keeping track of eyeshadow usage this year and I'm happy to report that I have used every one of my palettes at least once! There are 3 single shadows (2 liquid and 1 potted cream) that I have not yet used. I currently have 17 palettes, 6 shadow sticks, 3 potted singles, and 2 liquid shadows in my collection. I'm pretty proud of myself!

The first look actually really came together! I think the greens would be great as a shadow liner color.

I only have 10 palettes, and I still dont use them all evenly/consistently. Ive slowly pared it down to only colors i love, and I am super happy to only have colors that I feel beautiful and creative in ☺️

Same here....5 premade palettes and a few palettes of singles, this is all that I need, more than I need actually. I prefer having a small collection, there are many palettes that I almost bought but ultimately decided I didn't need. Really glad that I made that decision now, I would be too overwhelmed with too many eyeshadows.

I cycle through my neutrals. Yes it's all the same different shades of brown. 😂

One way to use the Flower palettes is just to throw your bronzer in the crease as your “matte” transition shade! Or pick an all-matte palette to use with them.

As a seasonal makeup girl, I really do use a lot of my palettes solely according to season, so not using it for a period of time, like winter and spring, wouldn’t phase me one bit. Would probably mean it’s a summer/fall/holiday palette to me! But you do seem to keep track all the way through, so that’s good. Drives me batty to see people do a declutter and not take into account what season they’re in! (although as a collector, I don’t watch declutters LOL) A suggestion: maybe store your Flower Beauty and other all shimmer palettes with your singles to help remind you to reach for them more often? Sometimes, my all matte/all shimmer palettes can get lost in the shuffle. I usually pair them together.

you should totally depot the flower ones! then you can use them like single shadows!

I always miss palettes after I declutter them. Like I don’t want the shades till I can’t use them

All I seem to want to wear lately are neutral and rich, milk chocolate browns with some lighter, shimmery shades.

Both looks are pretty. I'd be all over those palettes, except for the massively glittery one. Those Ace Beaute brights are all the brights you'll ever need, I'd be reaching in for one shade all the time.

Since I have a really old palette that I intend to keep only until December, and I’m working on panning the majority of the shades, the way I found to play with my other palettes is to literally…roll a die. It’s fun and I can keep using my dnd dice, so win-win, I guess

To make sure I’m using all my palettes this year, I’m doing a “no pan left behind” project of my entire collection. I have to use every single shade at least once. At a quarter of the way through the year, I feel good with where I’m at. 🙂 And props to you for being able to use mine shadows in a single look. I had an anxiety flare up just thinking about it.

I have about 15 palettes. I started pulling seasonal palettes and setting a number usage for them. This has helped me to rotate through my palettes and make sure they are getting used. Once I finish this round, I'm going to do a 1 week, 1 palette for my 2 new palette, this way they get used too!! Would love for you to check my Spring palette video on my challenge for inspiration!

I’ve been a stay at home mom for the past 7 months, barely started go back to work this past month and I’ve only used 4/35 palettes this year. I’m just not naturally gravitating toward eyeshadow these but don’t want to declutter my palettes. I just need to get back into it and reach for them more

I understand this, I had to do a declutter a couple of years ago and more recently also. Now I only have 7 pre-made palettes plus 2 palettes of singles. There's tempting color stories this year, but I'm enjoying what I have so much. 😊💚

The first side reminds me of the Destiny’s Child Survivor music video and the second side reminds me of the Sims - both fun looks!

Every time I see that Mystic Forest palette I absolutely love it, I am a dark autumn according to color analysis and those shades are perfect for me! 😍

I think I would also benefit from keeping track of my palette usage with more intention, I'd like to be making good use of everything but I feel like that might not be the case! I have more than I *need* for sure, but I would like to be making good use of what I have if I've already got it yknow

I have a no pan left behind project going and working on using my singles as well and I think it really teaches you to appreciate what you have. I know I am going to be able to touch all my palettes for sure and using singles with certain looks as well has really meant that I am no longer neglecting them. Both looks are gorgeous and I really hope that you can play with more. It also means that you don't want to buy as much.

With Begonia I feel like mauve would be a good crease color with the greens or berries. I hope that helps. I don't own the palette but I did admire it for some time and that is how I always imagined using it.

Oooooh I buy lots of stuff based on your recommendations and I am obsessed with the flower desert eyeshadow, palette such perfect colors for the summer with that coral theme.

I have the Ather beauty citrine quad. I bought it at TJ maxx for 6.99. I like to use it in the summer, we're taking a trip soon, I think I'll bring it.

I was keeping track of the makeup i used a couple months ago but then i got lazy with it.

The only one that I have that I would declutter is stone cold fox from colourpop.

When you have a colour story that you aren't quite sure about, you should break the palette down into colour stories that make more sense. For example - in the begona palette there are two four pan palettes. One with berries, one with greens and browns.

Great video idea 👍🏾. I declutter regularly to family, friends and schools. Truthfully, I'm not a colorful shadow wearer, so I'm getting rid of more. I'm not planning on buying any new ones either.

I only have one palette I haven’t used yet this year, and it’s a bright pink palette so I feel like I’ll use it in summer. I also have a yellow and orange palette I’ve only used once that I think of as summer. I tracked my makeup uses last year with free rein and it showed me what I use and what I didn’t need. I know I have a couple of bright palettes that I keep for occasional use but the rest I let go.

maybe you should declutter your eye shadow palette more frequently. you can set a number that you can handle, then keep "one in one out"rule to make these palettes work better
