It was sad watching this in 2023 knowing that some of the stuff listed towards beginning of the video probably still hasn't happened due to covid. Also now instead of the GMT being done next year, it's not estimated to be completed until 2029. As a space nerd this breaks my heart :(

Honestly, it's uncertain wether it even makes profit sense. The Amazon has lost to this date approximately 20% of the original land. By the time we would reach such a milestone we may have vertical farming, synthetic meat or brazilian agricultural productivity would be so high it is more expensive to increase land. Also, human population will peak and our food demand will stall. What IS truly worrying is that the Amazon may have a tipping point where it can't sustain itself and starts to die off. And we may be reaching this point, but that is a matter for futher study still

Im terrified, the arctic will probably have melted down, leading to the extinction of so many species of wildlife both there and in the rain forest, and if we reach 8.5-9 billion people there wont be enough supplies on this planet to supply us so we might start colonizing planets such as mars and who knows what else they'll find. If they create artificial intelligence we wont be the race with the upper hand, plus we know if they have a mind of their own they'll probably reach who knows what level of dominance.

Well because theres a balance in nature and every single extinct animal will cause a chain reaction because of it. And yeah we can START colonization but itd take way too long to get the necessary supplies in the mass quantity, and there will be no MORE trees. If we cut them all down and replant from seedlings well whats the point of anything being alive by the time they become habitable and if we replant big trees well there simply wont be enough for 50-60% of the rainforest, and yes salt water is drinkable but even then there still wont be enough water to supply that many of us. And no not always, also I didnt mean the white race Im not even white I was talking about the human race.

This reminds of seeing old Jetsons episodes where they predicted flying cars by 2000. Anyway, interstellar space travel is still theoretically impossible, which means even once it becomes theoretically possible we can still be like 100 years away from developing the necessary technology.

Someone from 2050 is going to watch this video back and be like, “nah, all we got is an upgraded version of the fidget spinner”
