Hi Greg, great work as usual. They were definitely more generous with the minced meat on your Hakka noodles!! They used to be more generous pre-covid, but I’ve realised they give less now, sometimes wayyyy less. I’ve gotten maybe half your amount on several occasions. But they are characters and I love the meatballs (although inconsistent, as you rightly pointed out), that’s why I still visit them. I also quite enjoy watching them dish it out to unfamiliar/new customers who don’t know how to order “their way”. It’s like a rite of passage!

thanks again Greg..i always wonder if this stall is related to the wonderful Special Chili Yong Tofu in nearby Jalan Berseh Hawker which in my opinion is v v v good. I eat in Special Chili Yong Tofu rather often but always forget to ask them if they are relative coz the style o niang tofu is very similar

Have you tried Pang’s Hakka Noodles at block 2 Jalan Bukit Merah? They have Hakka Yong tau foo, Hakka noodles, abacus seeds, Hakka meatballs and Hakka radish balls. The soup is very radish-sweet. Quite unique.

Hi Greg, I loved this stall's soon kueh. Are there similar or better Hakka-styled, more chewy and flavourful soon kuehs in SG? Most of the stalls around Singapore these days are the Teochew, white skin, less flavourful versions.

Easily the best, beef noodle stall in Singapore . The balls are flavourful with whole lot of beef taste. No where in Singapore can u taste the sliced beef which is wholesome and tender, unlike most stalls which are chewy almost like chewing card board. The Hakka noodles beats all other noodles. The niang Tau fu is almost the real stuff ...much much better than any stalls . Their abacus and soon kueh taste homely...made imperfect ...overall it's worth taking the trouble for all their food. As authentic a Hakka dish as can be. Can't find any better...
