    😅 "just iron deficiency" Left untreated can lead to dizzy spells, lightheadedness, passing out, comma, & death. I was experiencing lightheadedness, dizziness, fatigue, & absolute exhaustion by the time I was finally tested. Next level would have been passing out. 😐 I now take 130mg of iron a day.

    Anaemia happens with more deficiencies than just iron. E.g. Folate deficiency can be responsible for megloblastic anaemia, where red blood cells don't mature properly and end up being extra large with a diminished capacity for carrying oxygen resulting in extreme fatigue amongst other symptoms

    For anyone who may be curious, the red/dark spot under the nail, if not melanoma, is called a hematoma. Put simply, it's pretty much what you'd probably assume it is if you got one (since getting one usually involves slamming that nail pretty hard), it's literally a pool of blood under the nail. If it's severe it can cause you a little trouble, but generally it'll just harden in there and slowly get pushed out as the nail grows, until eventually it's back to normal.

    your nail is sick you aren't giving it enough time to breath with that "alot of nail polish" if you always have nailpolish or somehting on your nails of course your nails will get sick eventually, and it being yellow isnt a good sign im someone who does use dark nailpolishes black burgundy etc and never have i seen my nails become yellow after removing them probably cuz i only keep the nail polish for a week and then for the rest of the month i dont put anything on it

  • @lillyjoyce4194

    @lillyjoyce4194

    Жыл бұрын

    @@unknownoblivion2417 nails don’t need to “breathe” in this case yellow nails aren’t a sign of health problems, it’s just the pigment staining after using a lot of nail polish which isn’t going to case any harm, there’s even base coats that you can use to prevent the pigments being absorbed by your nail if the yellow bothers you. If anything it’s recommended to keep nail polish on because it acts as a barrier from being dried out by water so they won’t break. Of course you’re not going to have any stains because you don’t always have nail polish on, it does matter that you wear dark colors or not.

Many people with the disease have the "signs" and medical testing, history taking is required. Whereas most people with the disease might have "symptoms" obviously there are symptoms that are more common for a lot of diseases like short breath- heart failure, lung failure, blood clot etc.

    Typically black spots in the nails are either from trauma or possibly some type of skin cancer. Heavy metal poisoning will cause Mees lines. They are white lines that go across the nail but don't cause any kind of indentation. Lupus can cause some red or brown lines in the nails.

    I went through a really stressful couples of months last year and about 3 monts after everything calmed a bit, I was looking at my toes and noticed a horizontal line going a cross the nail. It was on both big toes a little more than half was to the tip of the nail and it looked like a raised seam. Like a little speed bump. As I was looking it up and discovered Beau's lines somewhere it said high stress levels can cause it too. As I touched my toe and thought about the possible stressors in my life, my blood pressure immediately spiked thinking about those previous months. So fun fact that happened. It was just the one bilateral line and eventually it grew off the nailbed and they're normal again. Life lol

    Fun fact- HBP is a classic symptom of a potassium deficiency and low potassium can cause your body to not be able to manage stress properly. Eating lots of leafy greens and salads can help raise potassium levels hpwever the first thought for most people is to eat a banana, but you would have to eat 12 bananas a day to get your daily alotted amount of potassium. You can also supplement with potassium citrate and if you plan on doing it long-term, make sure you take magnesium with it because they both work together and if you take too much of one or the other, it can cause heart palpitations from the imbalance

It’s already grown out on my toes except my big toes, and it’s almost grown out on my pinky fingers, but it’s going to be a while on the rest of my nails. I think it’s interesting. To me it shows how the sepsis affected all of my body, even small processes that you don’t normally notice. (I also got a couple white hairs afterwards. I didn’t have any white hairs before. But I’ve since found 2 or 3 on my head and a couple under my arm. I plucked them simply because I’m curious if they’ll grow back white or brown.)

At the time I just knew that they were coming in every 4 hours to take a lot of blood and that that wasn’t normal. Except I have rather unusual skin. I don't bruise, I don't rash, and when I sustain an injury of any kind I'll redden/bleed for about 5 minutes and then stop completely, even if it is a deep gash. The problems have been slowly increasing with additional symptoms like swollen liver/small intestine, decreased vision, with hair loss/headaches/tingling radiating out from my sinuses (I almost exclusively breath from my nose) leading me the believe the issue is airborne but toxic specifically to me as I have chemical sensitivity to certain things like tobacco.

    I've always had the "half moon." My Dr's as a kid told me it was the next nail lining up in case the top one was damaged. I have it in my toe nails, too. As well as the "white spots" or "clouds." All my life.

    Funnily enough i was super anaemic for a long time (Hb 35) and the one thing that wasn't affected was my nails 🤷‍♀️ my hair fell out, my teeth went grey, i had restless legs, tinnitus etc etc but nails were fine

    I already knew I have anemia, but the half moon just kinda confirms it. It's not severe, just as long as I have iron and protein in my diet, I do just fine
