Jetlag is no joke. I try to sleep on the plane, but usually, I can't stay asleep long enough to reset my time for my destination. This video has great information. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. I'll be checking out these apps for sure!

Thanks, Tammy! Trying to avoid jetlag is definitely a challenge!

IDK if I would use these to be honest, particularly the ones that are integrated and ask for travel info (location, dates, etc). Maybe I'm paranoid but I usually try to keep that stuff private and use as few apps (or rather just give any indication I'm gone) until I'm back. For me, I just use a simple Word document store on my phone with all the necessary detail info. Yeah it doesn't have the nice integration or planners, alerts as some of the apps, but it's also more "offline"). Plus some of these apps probably rely on you having access where you are, where as my Word document I can view and edit/modify without a connection (just won't sync with my cloud storage but that's usually not an issue or a big deal). Also keep in mind that some countries are less secure than others, and from a cyber crime standpoint, this can pose a higher risk (for example, you may say that the hotel has free wifi and it may, but you don't know if it's compromised so I would try to rely on apps as little as possible while traveling particularly to certain regions where crime may be higher than normal).

Hi Megan! Great video! Thank you for sharing your travel knowledge. It's been very helpful. Have been watching your channel for a couple of weeks and have been inspired to visit Da Nang. Going to Malaysia later this month for several months, then proceeding to Da Nang for a while. One question. Did you have any issues with mosquitos while there? If so, how did you deal with them? Were there more at night? Any info about those pesky flying creatures will be appreciated! Paul

Thanks Megan for sharing your vast knowledge with us for free. This video made me realize we’re all amateurs compared to you. I’m going to try using dayuse, flush, and grab airport, on our next trip abroad. Never heard of them before. I’m glad you included Google Translate in your notes because we find the camera feature very useful in Asia. It came in very handy when we had to use it fill gas in our car at the self service pump in Japan. Once again thank you so much.

In the UK there are some airlines that don't allow you to board your aircraft with hot drinks bought airside, so rushing to the gate with coffee in hand might not be such a good idea.

I'm pretty clued-up about most things travel related but the Dayuse app is new to me and sounds awesome. I'm in Bangkok at the moment and am planning/deciding where to go next tomorrow and this app could really come in handy.

Thanks for another great video. One tip I would add is to check you can get in to the apps you need before you set off. I have found that some apps have uninstalled themselves if I haven't used them since my last trip.

One of the other things I like about TripIt, is the ability to upload documents as a PDF. I always have access to my documents, with or without WiFi.

Flush - not sure the last time you went to france, but i find the bathrooms that cost a fee (a euro) to have an attrndant and are VERY clean. I dont like paying as an american, but you do get your moneys worth.

Which translation app do not know is good even if its from google? Do not want to hire a translator or only visit/stay in english speaking tourist areas. thanx.

I suggest entering the destination(port) that best describes your general itinerary. I have not used the app for a cruise but have used it when I have been on trips involving different destinations. Hope it works for you and have a great cruise!

The best thing for jet lag is Melatonin! I swear by it! Taking it for a few days when you get to your destination will greatly help! And also when you get home if you need it.

I don’t pick a flight to get a cheap flight . ✈️. If I fly I go on dates I pick no matter what . Family of six first class to Italy 36,000 Hotel in Italy for one month 14,000 Travel expenses 3,000 Meals , etc Just go and do it

A remarkable number of these apps provide simple yet dramatic approach to seeing travel endeavors to fruition, however, in their disparate assortments, utter absence of any truth to claimed functionality -- which in many cases these days---including in such flimsy enterprises, are as obtainable as light and shadow ---thus --for sometimes unwittingly incorporated glitches -- only result in jeopardizing one's entire flight or experience thereof -- after all, they have one's patronage---don't they? ---as one---their inaccurate or software package presently in passé...

When I travel with friends or relatives we never keep track of how much each of us pay. If I pay for a dinner someone else pay for lubch the next day. In the end it may result in someone payi ng af bit more than soneone else. But we are friends and money should not matter.

Slightly off topic, but I would like to share a bit of my very painful experience. Airlines in the United States are very strict about their non smoking policies. I was on a flight from NYC to LA and started getting a bit hungry. This is when I decided to get my BBQ grill out of the overhead and make some burgers. I have never heard that much screaming from the flight attendants in my life. They were shockingly rude. "How did you even get this past TSA? Are you trying to kill us all? Is that actually vegan fake meat?" I brought enough for everyone and have no idea why they were so upset. (Yes, I did use jet fuel to light the grill, but I got it from a different aircraft.)

All apps do that whether free or paid! Each user simply has to do a cost benefit analysis before downloading or uninstalling apps! It's no secret that Google, the owner of KZread does that! But here we all are on KZread!

@@adstix My employer just issued us HUAWEI MATE phones and l have a baseband monitor on it. I also have software that makes Apps look anonymous to each other.

It you need an app to plan a trip, you are not made for hard core travelling.
