Nah here was his oops of not being adjusted to a disc, was newer or rather re-added a really overstable mid in bag.
There was no better timing for this than now. I have junior worlds and I'm like 8th lowest rated in the field with the goal of not coming last. 😂 Thanks for the content Anthony 👏

Awesome!! Play well out there :)
Just started playing. Found this by accident. I bought 12 discs (6 different), and watching this made me more confident that I have gotten a good selection of discs to practice this sport :) Will work on mastering those before I begin to add to my arsenal. Great video!
Playing leagues helped me a ton! I've only been playing for about a year now. My first few months were mostly learning the sport with a friend who plays MA1. By the time we decided to play leagues I felt confident enough to jump into MA3 and skip MA4. I'm winning often enough that I might be forced to jump to MA2 by the end of the year. I play league 4-5 times a week and am currently sitting in 1st place on 4 of them for the season! Videos like this have helped a ton!

Good to see you out there too!!!
Thank you for your commitment and time to make videos like this. In my mind, this is the most important message: Commitment and time. Second advice from me: Have fun playing disc golf! Why is "second advice" not my first advice? Because Anthony is at a high-level game. Not professional, but high. Same with these videos. Practice 8 hours a day and just have fun? You can do that when you are a child or a teenager. As an adult, it takes time and commitment. That's not fun all the time, but most of the time. If you are competing against the best, consider how much time and commitment it has taken them to be at that level.

Absolutely LOVE both 1 & 10
Nice tips. Thanks.
Great vid & tips! Most tips are things I just started doing a few months ago. Some big ones for me were playing g with people that would push me. I played my first MPO tournament in May - a normally MA2 player. The course fit my game so I figured I’d give it a shot. After round 1 I was in the middle of the pack, but had a big blow up round 2 and dropped to last.😅😂 it showed me that I’m not that far from being competitive in the upper divisions and it gave me confidence to play MA1. Another tip you shared that I just started doing was bagging fewer discs. It helped my mental game so much! Appreciate the hardwork you put in to get content out!
My two most helpful tips in tournaments that helped me. 1.Play against yourself not the competition. 2. Don’t let a bad hole get in your head, you’re not out of it.
Yaaaaaw. Perfect time for you to drop this video. As I understand it you have learned SO much the last year especially with the continuous form work, strength coach and playing with all those other pros. Thanks for not doing this video too early in your disc golf development, your tips in this video seem really good, and some of those "X tips to make you a better ..." are very misleading!
Thank you. Blaming the disc has always bothered me. These days people don't keep disc's long enough to even give it a fair chance.

I plan and research and then buy a disc...if it flies like I thought it would, awesome. If not, then it fills another shot shape for me. Sometimes it makes the bag, sometimes it ends up as a good backup disc. Other best case it gets given to a friend or a kid in the park.
I clicked on this with my Wondervu hat on. LETS GOOOO!!!

A simple tip I have for players is do have more then one use for each disc in bag besides putting putters as then you will need less discs and less weight in bag. If a disc I have in bag is only used for a specific use only and I am not using disc ever or only for one very specific reason, out it comes. Also putting mold can be different from a driving putter. No need to force a Driving putter for your main putting putter if you need a big beaded putter disc or a disc like a Magnet/Hydra in a concave rim for putting if you are one who can't use a big bead on a driving putter.
Yaya you beat me in Vegas we get it lol
Commit indeed. It's difficult for me to trust the process/training that I have done when I'm playing a round, but I typically do better when I do. It's a strange feeling for sure, I'm working through it.

#1 and #7 are underrated
26:15 This is something that I have been trying to tell myself to do, to make this easier though I need to get my hands on a smaller bag again, probably just end up buying a small one at my local Wal-Mart. I also have a lot of discs that I think are meant to do pretty close to the same thing.

if you have a lot of practice putters, fill the dead space with those, get some extra reps in at the ends of rounds!
Tip#3 at the 2nd putt blurry…..tell me you have adhd without telling me you have adhd 😂. I was telling some guys I was playing with the other day about how I’ll cash those 1st putts and always miss the 2nd one because in my head I’ve already done it and I don’t have to do it again and I just cannot focus up enough to do it twice in a row.
Curious if you’d like the new Discmania MD4. More OS than the old ones, but still holds straight quite a while. Reminds me of a very OS MD3

i actually just decided to move up after my first win in MA4. my rating is 788, but i did a form change and i shot an 855 and than crushed a 923. i dont feel like i should keep playing ma4 after shooting that high after my form change feels like im throwing a lot more consistent
I have been thrown into MA1 in both tournaments I have played due to the small market I live in. I have been playing 10 months, with 5 of those being sub-zero. I finished 2nd to last in both tournaments. My body seemed like it forgot how to putt. On the bright side, if I hit half the putts I normally do in my next tournament, i could be in contention 😅

Agree with everything except that you should lower your expectations. I think It's different for everyone, but the trick is not to lower the expectations, it's to handle the feeling of when you don't reach them every time. And if you can do that eventually you will meet them.
@BodanzaDiscGolf
Күн бұрын
I definitely think it’s individual. I think where I could have been a bit more nuanced is that u think expectations for outcomes should be low but expectations of inputs (each shot being an input, each round score being an output for example) can be kept high. to me it’s about staying present and in the process the
Be careful out there bro, that looked like a grizzly cub. That's probably the most dangerous sighting on a mountain because the momma bear is nearby. Sometimes it's not worth it to finish the round. You should probably carry bear mace for future mountain rounds. Keep up the good work, and congrats on being a future dad!
@BodanzaDiscGolf

I'll def look into getting some bear mace, I made sure to take it slow and head on a swivel for a good bit, it seemed to me in person it was more adolescent sized but still made sure to stay vigilant. SUPER cool to see, but also got the nerves at an all time high!!
This one disc I use I pretty much only use is so good for everything but I wanna use my other discs I don’t know how u could help with this but yeah

add more discs slowly! no rush, but see if you find something that disc you love doesn't *suck* at, but might be it's weakness. Try to find something to fill that slot and go on from there!
Love that Trash Panda hat
Cheers Anthony, great video. You’re really seeming like you’re enjoying yourself out on the course and have your confidence back. Love to see it!
my biggest issue with my forehand is dropping my back shoulder doing exactly what you're saying.. it's SO annoying because every time i do it i'm like.. yup .. wrong lol
@BodanzaDiscGolf
2 күн бұрын
a lot of what I understand (could be very wrong) is throw is in to out. Initial problems likely are at torso level, if torso is stable, it may be shoulder level, if shoulder is stable it may be arm... etc. So it could be you're not stabilizing in your core correctly and it's collapsing and causing shoulder drop. Could also totally not be that but an initial thought you may not have heard before. If you can keep your hips level and your torso engaged in rotation, shoulders and arms should fall more into place
You shot a 56 at WonderVu your first time? Eagle has the course record at 54 which was 1064 rated, nobody has shot a 55 to my knowledge. Just hitting 60 is a massive accomplishment there. 60 is almost always 1000+ rated depending on the layout.
@BodanzaDiscGolf
2 күн бұрын
yeah it was crazy, it's "My first taste of mountain disc golf..." from 11 months ago. Def want to go back and chase that record a bit since I def can see it out there you just have to play SOO clean!
1st tip and I'm already triggered. It was that AviarX3's fault idc if I "shouldn't have thrown that overstable of a disc over a creek on a scoober" it shouldn't have landed in the creek
So when we playing together haha
So I did field work for the first time about a week ago and I feel like my game has only gotten worse. Idk why... maybe it's just coincidence but super weird that that harder/more I do the things the pros and youtubers say to do to get better the worse I seem to be getting 😅 not that I was anything special before but starting to feel like I should save my self-esteem and give it up
@LuckyDogwood
Күн бұрын
You're going to get worse before you get better, especially if you're learning and undoing muscle memory. Happened to me too.
What do I do if I’m not even good enough to play my local MA-3 division? I get nervous playing around other players I don’t know, and usually play way worse than I would by myself. 😂

hmm... What is it that you're scared of? I think if you can identify that specifically, you can overcome it

The trick that has worked for me is just keep on putting yourself in these situations and eventually you'll get comfortable.

5:22 I'll have you know I use my soapbox to get down off my high horse. How dare you suggest that someone lower rated than me has something to teach me...one of my best buddies on the course is one of the most consistent players I know. He's not amazing but I think on our local course he's usually within 2-3 strokes of his average on any given day. I on the other hand swing wildly between my highs and lows as I tend to be very aggressive in my play which on good days works out amazing and on bad ones is just trash. I have a lot to learn from him around control and tempering my attitude and my performance in tournaments has gotten better for having played with him and starting to embrace a little of his more consistent ideology. Sometimes running the eagle is worth it. But more often than not, running the eagle can set you up for bogie where as going for the birdie sets you up for par at worst.
For tip 2, I criticize myself too much to care if others are criticizing my game lol
Come play putter only glow. Definitely that upshot practice.

all great tips, I like the play up tip, I played with the MA2 and Pro guys in a monthly and hot my best score -9 on a course i typically shoot -3, it helped me see i do have more game then I thought i did, and with confidence, dude, I do think i'm better then i am not sure why i'm prideful or i just have a ton of faith in myself, believe you can and you will.

I agree with the fewer discs tip. I realized that i would have discs in my bag that I really didn't use a lot. Having fewer discs allows you to focus on what you have and be able understand those discs more than worrying about the discs you rarely use (unless they are like utility discs).
