I am a roofer and see this done everyday. Had a good friend show me and it is very similar. Expect he welded more closely to inside for watertight and good seal.

Always tack weld . And please weld the middle . It’s not about the box moving it’s about water seals

Couldn't this of been done with a small patch heated and stretched to fit.?

Exactly, saved the homeowner money, lowers bid, and works just as good if not better.

Looks a bit maybe. But if Karryanne don't catch it don't matter. You just do what the last guy tells you. On any job. Even brain surgery.. You'll get by.

Good - not great. Use a tool like a roller instead of fingers for transition changes since they’re the weak points, as stated. Add full perimeter tack weld prior to fully welding.

Come on, who doesn't heat and mold with fingers??(not for EVERYTHING) Doesn't mean it can't check and be tight.you know how many times we pick up and put down that roller to do flashing? Any chance I can get to not keep killing my wrist and cause carpal tunnel worse than it is.....I'm doing it, it will check for, the inspector just fine.
