    I got a TM6 a year ago, purely because I am gadget mad and can't particularly cook, it's been a game changer for me. Just had a go at Seville Orange Marmalade and it was a revelation!! Expensive yes but invaluable.

    Thank you for your video - I'd been looking for someone actually demonstrating preparing a meal on the TM6 (not lemonade or honeycomb etc.). I imagine this machine is great for people who don't know how to cook and/or don't enjoy the actual cooking process. Although I've been hearing about these machines for years, I can finally say - It's not for me. I watched your video to the end but I must admit I got bored with all the 'next' stages and in real life I would have given up. I enjoy chopping / sautéing / simmering / slow cooking. I slow cook a ragu over about six hours - once it's ready for the slow cooking - I simply put it in the oven and go to bed... my oven switches itself off at the appropriate time. But thanks again - I'm sure lots of people will not only enjoy your videos but also enjoy using a TM6.

    @Anaderol - you’re very welcome. Thanks for watching, it’s much appreciated.. You made some good points in your comment. As I mentioned on my full review on this channel, it doesn’t really improve a good cook, it just saves time. An average or poor cook is instantly elevated, no matter how bad you are! 😀 I, like you love to cook traditionally, and I still do at weekends, it in the week after a busy day at work, I reach for the tm6. Thanks again for supporting my channel, I hope you’ll enjoy some of the other cooking content. 🙋🏻‍♂️👍🏻RTF

    Too be honest IM a chef, chef lecturer et of nigh on 50 years. Trust me I can cook. A Thermomix is about “critical temperature control” for sure….. for sure I can do this. But, and a big but a Thermomix does it “exactly” on auto pilot. Those who can cook (trust me I can) it’s just a tool in the box. Those whose cooking skills are “limited” will get better results than they could hope for. Tgat said, it comes at a price. For me? It’s just another tool in the box. Regards.

    Hey there - thanks for the review and this instruction. I think you mentioned in a previous video that it makes great rice. This might be a daft question, but how do you make the rice at the same time as the curry using the same machine? Or do you need to make it separately not with the TM6? Thanks

  • @RichieTheFoodie

    @RichieTheFoodie

    2 жыл бұрын

    @Luke Moscrop hey there, you’re very welcome, thanks for viewing. You’re correct, it does make great rice, and your question is certainly not daft 😀. The tm6 makes great rice, indeed. You can’t make rice at the same time, unless you purchase the thermomix friend, which is a mini tm6. I don’t have this as I don’t feel I need it. When I make this curry, I make the rice in the tm6 then store in the fridge. Make your curry, then follow my egg fried rice video instructions kzread.info/dash/bejne/eoOesJWBmdbeYbw.html or simply reheat the rice in the microwave ensuring it’s properly reheated. You loose some texture but otherwise fine. I hope this helps. If you have more questions, please ask. Thanks very much for supporting my channel, sir. It’s much appreciated 👍🏻😀RTF

    I think this is a gamechanger for people that are new to cooking. It will take them over that initial hurdle where they can go to the next level straight out of the box. In my eyes there is two huge downsides! Yes it replaces a lot of gadgets in the kitchen. That also mean that if it breaks everything stops (back to fast food). You don't learn anything while making the food on this gadget. No knife skills. No heat control of the stove. No knowledge of what actually goes on with regards to technique or process. I might be wrong but personally I would no have missed out on the journey through the cooking world while learning. At the point where I am now I am not interested in buying one. I might be a little slower making a Risotto but then again I can make a portion to 12 people as easily as to 4 (in the fall I make soup in 10-12 liter batches). Also chopping, cutting and preparing everything can be a very relaxing and enjoyable process.

  • @RichieTheFoodie

    @RichieTheFoodie

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Frank. You have made some very good points there, sir. It takes an average cook to the next level, no doubt about it! I hadn’t thought about if it breaks, to be honest. But I guess I’d still have my stove and my pans. Id only recommend loosing bread mixers, food processors etc. My Wife will be the first to admit that her cooking skills are not the best. Before we had the tm6, I did all of the cooking as she doesn’t enjoy it, but now we have the tm6, she’ll happily put dinner on if I’m running late at work etc. It’s more of a time saver and prep machine for me. At the weekends, I still prep with my knife and cook my food the traditional way, and as you say, I get a lot of enjoyment from this and wouldn’t change it for anything. Thanks for your constructive comment and for taking the time to interact with my channel. I really appreciate it 😀 RTF

    beef prepared before in a different pot, manually move the ginger-garlic paste after grinding, manually scrap the onion after grinding, you need to stay close to all steps showed on the display, press buttons and rotate knobs, in all this time you'll just cook everything in the same pot and can watch a series on a tv set nearby, or listen to a nice jazz :) I embrace AI and technology but this is a mimic and marketing trap, also you become the slave of a algorithm that is telling you step by step what to do :)) Instead you can simply measure everything in advance and put them on different plates, is that hard? :D You pay 1,4 k just to give you an impression you can cook like a pro
