    Thanks a lot sir..i was finding this kind of video in internet. At last i have found it. Thermal stess numericals are a bit tricky to get understand. But u taught us very clearly. Sir it would be better if u conduct the whole class in English. Sometimes i Couldn't understand u. And it would be also helpful for us if u make more video on solving tricky problems of thermal stress..

    Thank you sir for this topic. However, I still have confusion about the analysis of thermal deformation and the deformation cause by the force. Here's my question, What if the second problem you presented is subjected to weight and we assume that we transfer the copper rod above (same position with the brass ) with some distance at the support, we also assume that the copper rod is shorter than brass rod. Then the weight is near the end of the bar. What will be the changes? Are you going to add the temperature deformation and deformation due to force? What will be the best approach to establish a compatibility equation?

    Thank you for watching my video. The best way to establish the relationship between the deformation due to forces and the deformation due to temperature change is to make an assumption or estimates of the final position. Then show there the deformation due to temperature change. The question on whether the deformation due to the forces shall be added or subtracted shall be determined as the difference between the final position and the position due to the change in temperature. Then finally equation of compatibility can be established by using geometric relation between these combined deformations
