Idk if anyone can help me but I bought one of these and opened the box (on the box it’s say “includes 12 hour refill”) and the refill is empty, has no wick with it just the cartridge. I’m so confused, like did it not come correctly or am I missing something?

If you have a breeze you should place the thing up wind from you so the gases emanate over or around you.

In every review they say a 20' radius. That would be a 40 foot diameter. The Thermacell product description says 314 square feet of coverage. Area= π r² which works out to 10' radius (20 foot diameter) I think the lanyard is for hanging it from a tree. Any air movement causes the vapour to diffuse. That aside, you can see that it works if you watch your son in the background!

Yes, true. Coverage area varies a lot depending on the wind conditions. They work best on calm days, however, on those windy days the bugs aren’t that bad anyhow I guess. Lol, yeah he was just a swinging at those mosquitos, they diminished quickly after turning this on. This model works so much better then the ones that use those blue pouches, I have both and this is my go to. Enjoy the outdoors this year!

Can you use it indoors? Believe it or not last summer I got some mosquitoes in my home office constantly they were biting my ankles and I live in an area where we normally don’t have mosquitoes at all. I’m in Phoenix. But they were driving me nuts need something like this that I can have inside. I’m just wondering if the smoke would come off and get all over the furniture and my electronics.

According to the Thermacell website, these are to be used outdoors only. I would contact them for more information. You could try an electric mosquito zapper, looks like a tennis racquet, for those that get into your home. Good luck!

I would got an oscillating fan and put it on high, if possible in the office. Mosquitoes hate strong wind.

Theoretically wouldn't you still get 15-20 ft if you go down wind?

I think it all depends on how strong the wind is. But i guess if the wind is too strong, you shouldn’t need to worry about mosquitos any way.

What is the purpose of the 4 white lights? They don't seem to have anything to do with either the amount of repellent remaining or battery status. Your thoughts?

They are indicator lights to let you know that your Repeller is operating.

I tested it out, you can charge it while it is on. Turn on the unit first, let it warm up until the four corner lights are solid, then plug it into the charger. I'm not sure however, if this would affect the battery life over time by charging and running it at the same time.
