The lost zone player basically bricked both games in the finals if I remember correctly. The chien pao player must have just drawn crazy the whole event cause that list is a bit insane

i ended up speaking to the chien pao guy. a couple interesting notes: -He was expecting snorlax and hated snorlax so went for the dudunsparce -The bravery charms and arven are to deal with going second into the chien mirror where you charm a frigi so you don’t need to worry about not having one in the mirror, as well as having a better time into miraidon and lugia

I also ended up speaking to the chien pao player and he said that the night before the tourney, he was smokin that zaza with a girl named roxanne, so he threw in the roxanne for her

I played against the chien pao deck on the ladder 3 times in a row, glad he got it to a place that worked

I tried snorlax, froslass, and greninja ex, and it's such a fun crazy mash up of different play styles, and I absolutely love it. It's like a stall/spread deck.

Some of these decks are super creative! Love the FrosLock innovation and Armarouge Luminous. Froslas is plus into Chien-Pao so maybe they're thinking no Bibs + fast Hands is the medicine?

Been playing a lot of arceus armarouge with luminous and its actually heavily underrated imo

The Giratina can’t attach with lost impact since it needs a psychic energy, there is no psychic energy in the deck. I most likely was used to use Abyss seeking to help with drawing

It’s for use in the discard pile by Regidrago VStar to use the attacks. If it ever ends up on the field it will be Penny’d back to hand to discard.

I prefer koraidon for shred on mimikyu because it's only a single prizer if it gets stuck on first turn. If stone mask ogrepon ever takes off mew ex can also handle it but it's a two shot still. I do like the idea of hitting for 280 on the vstar though. My only ohko option is bolt.

agreed, even if mimikyu has bravery charm, koraidon still one shots it with shred. and if it gets stuck in the active its only one prize. I wouldnt really justify using giratina VSTAR anymore. even to OhKO theres too many stage 2 ex decks that have too much HP and are performing really well. If you cant one shot them, you might as well rolling iron to stall an extra turn and you dont lose energy to the lost zone.

I’m a fire enjoyer so I really want to see that Gouging Fire ex and Armarouge in action!

That deck just has Goughing Fire ex. 90% of games is just spamming rad chard or iron hands 😂 You rarely use the fire 😝

Please play the Armarouge deck, it’s my favorite in scarlet and violet and I’ve been trying to find videos of decks for him 🙏🙏🙏

Getting into the Pokemon TCG, is it common to have this much variety in decks that can do well or is this current format just really healthy? I've tried out some deck lists I found from recent events and feel like a good number of decks can win when piloted well. Too used to other card games where there's like 1-3 decks dominating a format and there's a big gap between those and everything else.

Pokemon has had really healthy formats for like a year in a row. 1,5 years ago it was literally over 50% Lugia in day 2 of events 😂

one of the reason garde isn't really doing well is because day1 is a bo1 format with a 25min limits. since setting up garde takes time, most people just went for aggro deck that do damage and takes prize as fast as possible

My brother is the one who cooked up the chi-yu / armarouge deck a while back and I'm happy to see players pick it up and innovate it further :D I'm surprised that the newer version can manage with just one super rod. Even though it's called a tool box deck, it's basically a spam rad chard or iron hands deck 😂If you have to discard one of them or rod early with research or squawk the game isn't fun :P

I've seen my brothers deck featured on some japanese Twitter accounts as well 🤔 No way that dude just homebrew a deck that is literally 3 cards off my brothers list that has been featured on limitless and twitter 😆

@@Luugi Recognition does not equate to being a creator. I personally know the guy who played the deck and I know the amount of time and effort he put into putting the deck together but then again, if it's so important for you to believe what you said, then sure.

@@PokeAK555 Neither does putting in time and effort 🤷‍♂️ My brother has pretty much exclusively played that deck whole 2024 year so far. And since he is the first to make the deck known, it hard to argue anyone else has created the deck. I can give credit for innovating! He might be a awesome guy but same 57 means the core of the deck isn't his creation no matter what he tries to claim 🤔

Now that it's over, I can confess. I brought the wrong deck to the Championship. Had a very shit-faced day with a miserable Miraidon deck build. Played 3 games to get the stamped Arven promo and left. My real deck was Raging Pon

I dont see any reason to play either girantina V or VSTAR in regidrago. Koraidon shreds mimikyu already even with a bravery charm and is a single prize if it gets stuck in the active. and Girantina VSTAR was included as a OHKO option but has been replaced by Raging Bolt. Plus 280 lost impact doesnt OHKO stage ex decks(besides Pidgeot) so it isnt even good at its job anymore. Plus having to lost zone energy away isnt the best, even after most regidrago decks having little energy already. Yeah you could argue losing 2 energy for 280 is better than 4, but lost impact puts the energy in the lost zone for the rest of the game, energy used for raging bolts attack can be retrieved especially since both regidrago and raging bolt decks are being built with energy retrieval in mind.
