We see the hard yakka of demolishing and building, but behind the scenes Dan has to do a massive amount of organising, measuring, ordering materials, getting permits, communicating with local offices including the mairie, water, gas, and electricity bodies, organising labour, scheduling tasks, setting up work spaces, getting structural reports, servicing tools. And this on top of being a father and a human being who has the normal needs, visit the dentist, shop for food, etc. Wow.

My thoughts exactly, every time. It's humbling and yet also like a work of art, in the eye of the beholder. both in physicality and also as a process. But when did art require so many different skills... we come full circle, can only stand and wonder, enjoy. Dan's project exists on so many levels, both ordinary and extraordinary, one day at a time and yet an effort that is history embodied. And yet always with that spontaneity and humanity. It really is special. These words sound incredibly airy-fairy (and yeah, not like me at all), but here we all are, so many different perspectives.

Two things: 1. I hope that bird nest is still active. 2. I'm still championing you building a utility / work shed on the property to store everything out of the weather. Perhaps including a toilet / shower / utility sink. That way more people can stay on site to help out.
