Not all fans were against the Havertz signing, at the time i was surprised and a bit underwhelmed because i wanted that killer striker. But i can honestly say on my life, i always backed him becsuse i knew the player he was a Leverkusen. I was gutted when Chelsea signed him and now he's a Gooner. He looks happy and at home, hence his PB goals and assits in the EPL.

Arsenal fanbase has different factions and views, these guys are picking and choosing viewpoints and lumping everyone into the same pot when it suits the argument. There are hardcore Arteta fans who think everything he does is genius no matter what, those guys will say things like he has never made a bad signing. Then on the opposite side we have Arteta haters, like Lee Gunner, who will pretend to support the team but are waiting for the next moment to scream Arteta out and will only truly support him when there is no other choice, ie we win the league. Those are the two extremes and fans are scattered all along that spectrum. So on the Havertz signing yeah some people are and were saying he is the next RVP and some are and were saying he is useless. Most people tho understandably were underwhelmed with the signing because he was average at Chelsea but are now delighted to be proven wrong by Kai and Arteta.

This is Arteta's first managerial job. By now he has your trust or he never will. If not for the juggernaut at City he'd be a winner twice. Am also happy there's a juggernaut to polish his skills to perfection and mould this team to a juggernaut as well. Let it be consistent 6-7 years of 86+ -100. Cobra Kai was bought to be a starter then stumbled out the block. He then had to prove his worth, coming off the bench many times. Its paying off now but still lots more to go to validate 65 miilly

Its totally different to use ramsdale as a example goalkeepers are different. A squad player can be used regular a goalkeeper other than a injury never gets subbed. With the amount of games now which alot of people are complaining about a "bench player" doesnt really exist most first 15 players or so in a squad get plenty of game tims over a full season.

Arsenal fan. Havertz has well exceeded expectations in terms of output and for his overall standards. I was expecting utter shit G/A. But let’s not get carried away. I still think he’s had 6.5/10 season. He took a long time to settle. If he could bag 15 PL goals by the end of the season I give him 7/10. He’s done enough to definitely play a part in the squad next season. Start some games and come off the bench but an upgrade in ST is still needed.

Tbh im an arsenal fan and i like havertz as a profile but he has had some poor performances and some good ones. I did mention to my friends who support rival clubs that this signing would potentially not work because he didnt hit it off at chelsea, but also at chelsea there wasnt a stable club with multiple managers with different styles to playing every time. We can only judge a player with a few seasons of play to see how he performs. Do i think he was worth 65 mill , no. But is he proving his worth now yes. But needs to be more consistent.

@@JohnEllis-le9ym it’s too easy to think goals are the only thing in football but actually the best I’ve seen Saka and Martinelli look is when Jesus was playing alongside. Supporting both while still dropping to midfield and overload. I’m not sure Watkins can do that. Ppl love to think if he is brilliant at Aston villa for 1 season he will be brilliant at Arsenal or Chelsea. That is not how it works. Not every midtable player can move to big club (different pressure different mentality) and fit in like Declan rice did. Declan rice is just special.

@@JohnEllis-le9ym I also saw the class goals Jesus scored this season in Europe. It’s also widely known he is playing this season with a knee injury. His injuries is the only reason I can see swapping him for Watkins. But his ability to replace Saka as he did when we won against city is invaluable. It’s not easy to find right wingers these days. They are going extinct. I think u r downplaying his ability to keep possession. Not many players have his close control. For a team like us who like to keep possession he is valuable. Also he is very good player off the ball. Pressing as an example is a big part of Arteta system. But seems like you are only here to see the surface and miss all the intricate reasons Jesus is a great fit for our system. I would not get rid of Jesus or Havertz for Watkins. Maybe if Watkins have a similar season again then i can risk it.

If you want to talk about a bad signing then Pepe was it . Kai Havertz is worth every penny he is young and versatile .. COYG
