There's Gotta be More to Life by Stacie Orrico lyrics

There's gotta be more to life than chasing down every temporary high to satisfy me.

@@calvinashworth6486 I felt like I was always chasing happiness.... My whole life.I was depressed all the time, I got addicted to pain pills pretty badly for awhile. I felt happy when I was high... Or at least I thought it was happiness. But I came to realize it was nothing more than a "temporary high" (just like she sings about) we are all searching for happiness and I feel like once I found Jesus Christ I didn't need to search anymore. 🥺💓 Nothing in this world has ever made me feel more LOVED or COMPLETE.

Millenial generation...I think is interesting how Stacie and POD, coming from diferent backgrounds seem to sing about something...That is missing or lost. This song and "The Youth of the nation" seem to talk about a void. Stacie, dear, what you are missing is an horizon, a narrative of progress, the void is the post-modern void.

That emptiness in your stomach will never be filled until you accept Jesus into your heart. This world is temporary. You were made for fellowship with the eternal God of heaven. We are not wired to die. Not wired to grieve. We never become immune to it. Instead we lose a little more each time. The only true reality is that God loves us and died for us, and only that love can fill that emptiness inside us. If you have never accepted Jesus into your heart let me lead you to this filling love that will satisfy your soul: "God I am empty. This aching emptiness is killing me slowly inside. Help me. I need help filling it. Nothing satisfies. There has got to be more. I am willing to believe that Jesus died for me. If this is true and you can make me whole then take this heart and life and make it yours. Take away the emptiness. It is overwhelming. God help me." If you pray this, from your heart you will feel a physical indwelling, like water being poured under your skin, down to the depths of that emptiness. The bible is true, 100%. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. It is only through the cross of Jesus Christ we are saved and raised. And yes, this also means those who do not accept Jesus as their savior and die with this emptiness wake up to an eternal life that never ends, permanantly seperated from the love of God. Comment below or tag me if you have any questions.

hi yes i have a question. my faith isn't all that amazing especially now, but how can i 100% trust a bible. it wasn't written by god nor jesus. but by people who claimed to know him. and hasn't the bible gone through many series of changes? we don't really know if we can fully trust that god spoke to these people can we?

@@nicoledeaquino4 Hello, I agree that Bible was not physically written by God, but He used His people as instruments and who also experienced His unconditional love and power to write His instruction that we need in this world. GOD used their life story so that we may be able to find that He connects to ordinary people (like us) and that His power, help and love were revealed through their story. I hope this helps. I don't know much about every verses in Bible but one thing I know is for sure, Jesus loves you. You just need to open your heart to Him and allow His amazing power work through you. It will not happen over night but I assure you God is worth trusting. 😊

@@nicoledeaquino4 Hi even if you have faith as Jesus had said about as a mustard seed which is very tiny that’s good! Sad but the word we live in today does not know much about or is not into God’s ways. One reason our schools and colleges some anyway are antiGod they don’t want the creator in their lives. They’re not ignorant of education but they are about God about who he is and that he has a good plan and is a reality. God spoke prophesied the Bible to ordinary men and those words aren’t just made up by men but are truth. It’s ok to question. People carefully worked with the scriptures for future generations. At the end of book of Revelation it says a warning about adding or taking away from the scriptures. It is by faith in God in Jesus however there are evidences daily about scriptures and God being real. Just look at life trees and babies the earth. Science alone isn’t all truth some is. But check the Bible for yourself and some are different translations of words but people were careful to do that. The Bible will bring truth and show you the way. Your life will have purpose and someday hope of heaven when you decide to make an important decision and follow him and ask him to come into you and help you.

Funny thing is that she keeps singing about there being more to life than she’s getting missing something she’s not getting but the more you miss and the more you feel like there’s gotta be more the more she’ll feel that way…it’s a cycle of wanting something you don’t have so you keep chasing you get what you think you want but it turns out not to be what you want so you start chasing again…

Mary_Pray_4_us a, Huh ? The song pretty clearly DOES talk about drugs, that's the point of the song. It doesn't GLORIFY drugs, but "Temporary High" & "The more that I'm tripping" are pretty obvious drug references. It's about not needing drugs to be happy, and wanting more from life than tripping out & being temporarily high ...

Good god, I'm ancient. I remember singing this to top of my lungs at 10/11/12. Now, I don't understand why this was played on Christian contemporary radio. It's not that religious, and Stacy Orico is not exactly a Christian artist. Her style is pop. This to me is kinda classic teen music. Lol. Nothing religious about it. Ya'll were duped. :P
