While strategically speaking, Magyar is still living in 2012. Mechanically, Magyar seems to still be the God of Old. This game, Magyar showed vintage mediterranean strategy, perfect archer ship control and incredible understanding of what it takes to win.
There are some other games he has played so far where his mechanics could not pull through. If Magyar is to be able to compete with the new experts he will have to learn new strategy and go from there.

6:16: I did find out why Magyar's micro is very strong he can consistently micro his Triremes move back a little bit to bait Eric's Triremes to chase it forward and it also consistently disrupt the attack tempo of Eric' ships and then Magyar keep hit the baited ships with the untargeted ships, PoG
Magyar is my fav player. Can´t believe this is a new game. No way he is back. Its like batman coming back. Holy shit. Hope we see much more from him. Used to be such a huge mista fan and would always annoy me when Magyar would beat him, until I just embraced and admitted just how good Magyar is. Now he´s the most fun player to watch. Combine Kimos obessiveness with upgrades + magyars strategy and we got the best player of all time. I always felt Magyar could benefit with some armoury ups, even if he relies on micro at least the weaponry upgrade could help him.
See, THIS is the kind of beatdown we like to see!
At the 10 min mark, I think you were actually remembering KING beating Magyar with double tox locations on each side of a Med battle ftw
OMG old AOM is back!! This is what was talking about! This is what I remembered of aom strategies… what a player, what a match… KING Magyar
You can see Boit knees shaking in the beginning of the video, then you see that micro (it's like, in a millisecond he sees and moves the targeted boat but nothing else moves, then he does it with toxodes!!!!! WTF)... then the ultimate pressure comes and all this goes in the blink of an eye. Then you realize your knees have been shaking all the time - you just witnessed greatness.

Magyar was housed for almost 1,5 minutes from 8:00 until 9:30 though. nevertheless, his micro is near-perfect.

I didn't know what to expect from the legend. The game was a beauty, I love this style, the same with the Seth game. I love these games, please more of these!
I remember playing Magyar on Bloodsport AoM. First round, i got massacred and he had like 20 units left. Dont even know what happened GG :D RIP, i noticed also a couple of games 1v1 his micro so strong pick off one or two units early and the advantage is his immediately. will be fun to watch some more new games from him

Reliability is underrated. :D. I think also eating all those pigs can be dangerous if your opponent sees you doing that and knows you’re basically all in on water doing well
