Brennan is very good at switch characters. And to be fair to the character, she's clearly the only one of the family taking the duties and dangers of their position seriously, and has done for the past 20 years. And bare in mind the princesses are 18, not really kids anymore.

A non-Spoiler warning to all that gets to watch the entire season from someone who has been watching on DROPOUT. There is little to no healing magic, NO way back from death and the Challenge ratings are far FAR against them. This is the season where you get punched in the emotional guts a few times and 2 episodes have content warnings. It's awesome to watch and my favourite season so far but just don't go in expecting the 'pick me up' experience of previous seasons. Goodluck and enjoy!

I'm anxious to meet *them.*" Makes sense to apply the word to those who don't identify with either end of the binary. Also, even if that weren't the case, language is just a tool and it can, y'know, change. This is like hearing someone use the word "gay" and being like, "Why are you calling that person gay? Don't you know it means happy?" when you know what they meant.

I really like the way Ally plays Liam. His nervousness in an alien scenario is a really good portrayal of a young kid. I especially like the way he asks “Do you hate me?” so straightforwardly to the Queen. As we grow older, we come to realize that these fears are often unfounded, but to a kid, questions like “Do you still love me?” or “Do you hate me?” are very valid.

I never thought that I wanted Game of Thrones to take place in the "Candyland Expanded Universe" but this has shown me that I secretly always did

This is why I love D&D. It can literally be whatever you want it to be. People get so wrapped up in world crafting and trying to make a serious world with real conflict between this faction and that faction, and thats fine. But we often forget that we can have fun with it to. Why not make a whole world of candy? Why not make an underwater dungeon on an asteroid flying through space with orc/mermaid hybrids? It doesn't have to make sense. It just has to be fun.

Just discovered this. I love it! I feel like necromancy should be based on Sucralose. Sucralocy the dark art of false sugar that’s close to real sugar but just not quite as good. With zombies that are sugar free gummy bears and stuff.

I have a great hesitation to get another netflix. But, Brennan Lee Mulligan makes it so tempting to get the dropout netflix. As a side: you cannot abbreviate Brennan's name, without some level of misunderstanding.

I bought a subscription to DropoutTV just to watch this and I can promise you, you will not be disappointed!! A tale of heroism, political subterfuge, family bonds, and friends. Brennan and the gang absolutely slay, this season was incredible. It's $5 a month but you can pause or cancel anytime. Great way to support such an incredible group, highlighting how flexible D&D can be, and maybe even inspiring others to take their own spin at it ;D

WHY IS THIS SO DAMN ENGAGING? I've never in my life played something even remotely related to D&D, and now, after a measly two hours of listening to Brennan's superb worldbuilding, I want to find a group to play it. Kudos on the good work, you've got me to seriously consider joining the channel.

Brennan has to be fluent in Latin, or some other romance language. The first 10 seconds of this and I'm already like "oh this is someone who went through an ancient greek/rome phase as a child" Calorum, Ceresian, Fructera, Comida, Pangranos. 10/10 nice one dude although it is in fact killing me how they're pronouncing "comida", a real Spanish/Portuguese word, as "KAH-mih-da" and not how it's actually pronounced in the language, "koh-MEE-dah"

@@blammmed no - I know he said later that his mispronounciation of comida was on purpose to mimic how colonizers, specifically the british, bastardize local places names of the areas they colonize though - is that what you're talking about?

I love how infectious Brennan's laugh is. He just seems fun.

I started watching this after having watched Escape from the Bloodkeep - one of the rare occurences where an ad was actually useful! And I'll tell you, I'm not cancelling my subscription after the free week. MY GOD this is good. I've been roleplaying for years now, but I had no idea a campain could be that intense. The mastering is on point, the players are amazing, these are several hours of my life I would happily spend again doing exactly this: watching A Crown Of Candy. In Sweetness, There Is Strength!

Finally starting my rewatch while making certain I have a regular therapy schedule throughout, and I felt almost wild hearing two special names just in this episode.

The editing of 1:55:30 is applause-worthy

It's always so intriguing to see Brennan go "uuhhh" and "ehmm" when describing something, but not screwing up for a second when in character

Incredible, Brennan never fails to to deliver unique and interesting settings for these campaigns. Although it does make me wonder, I'd love to see some bts of the character creation side of things. Especially in a story like this one where everyone was already so connected. How much are the players told beforehand? How much influence do they end up having on the lore? How much story is written before and how much is made up after their characters are decided?

@@CalvinKool-Aid well, you probably also need to have the credit and be able to afford the fees on a credit card or be able to buy the smallest prepaid credit card which s a fair bit. Having very little money makes things harder even when you can technically afford something, I have an agreement with a friend with a credit card where I give them five bucks cash every month i wanna use dropout, and even then some months I just go without it cause I don't have a lot of money and sometimes theres other things I need to prioritize to the point where even 5 is too much. Also they could just be like, a kid/teen without access to a parents cash lmao.

@@CalvinKool-Aid For me, no not really. In addition to all of my bills, I pay for a few different streaming services. All but one of them autodraft every month, and I don't feel comfortable adding in another one. Maybe later in the year, but not right now.

Just finished watching the full series, and I have to say I’m emotionally drained in a way that should be impossible for a group of people playing D&D. Bravo to everyone who worked on it! You’ve sent me into a depression in the best way possible.

How is there such deep lore for candy land. Is this truly what is going to get me to sign up for drop out after 2 years of resisting?... ... Yes.

There is not a show on any television that makes me laugh as hard as these people

I think it’s because it effectively simulates hanging out with your friends, playing the game. And your friends happen to be practiced comedians.

This seems like it’s going to be better than every previous campaign. I’m suuuper excited.

OKAY OKAY. You guys finally convinced me to sign up for Dropout. I *need* to know how this campaign goes, and I can’t stand seeing spoiler animatics on KZread anymore.

I'm loving the fact that Amethar is coming across as someone bumbling, but well-meaning. He very clearly does NOT value being royalty, but is happy to delegate his job to people who actually know what they're doing, and does his best to avoid making mistakes that he KNOWS that he'll make.

No words, only Bravo, Brennan. Bravo for making the most ambitious, funny, and dramatic story of sweetness and strength. Props to the cast and crew as always! For Candia!

I just wanted to come here to say, if anyone sees this. You should get dropout for a month and binge this. It's so worth it. Yes it's all silly food stuff, yes it's still a cast of improv comedians and it's silly and zany and all that, but don't let that fool you. This series is the most intense, brutal, compelling, and addictive actual play I have ever seen. That includes all d20 campaigns, all 3 CR campaigns and all limited run CR games, all Spencer Crittenden campaigns, all Deb Anne wolle campaigns, and honestly only one campaign I have ever personally been involved in in 25 years has even come close. This one is Brennan's masterpiece and I don't know how it took me this long to give it a chance. I actually was a little bit non-plussed that Matt was going to do a crown of candy spin-off, but that was before I watched it. Now I'm insanely excited that this is the setting he's doing. (Tho I do think their cast choice will severely hurt it, aabria consistently makes things she's involved in pretty weak, and not including Emily or any CR cast was baffling. Tho Lou, Zac and Brennan are great choices for players.)
