There Is A Muslim Town In Manila Philippines!! | Maharlika

There Is A Muslim Town In Manila, Philippines!! | Maharlika. In this Philippines travel vlog I was told this muslim town Maharlika in Manila, Phillipines is not safe and I should not go. So i decided to take a visit and see for myself. This muslim town is located in Upper Bicutan in the metro Manila area known as Taguig. I came to discover that this place is not as bad as they say it is. Actually the people are very kind and welcoming. Also the food is halal because it is mostly Muslim people and the chicken I tasted was yummy. People said this muslim town in Manila Philippines is not safe but I would say that is untrue.

Who am I?
A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. Growth is not achievable without leaving your comfort zone, so just do it!

im a catholic filipino and i am angry when people commenting "Dont go into mindanao bcus terrorism. And islam and muslims are bad. " like i wanna slap them hard. Philippines, though a Christian majority nation, Filipinos are tolerable about what faith you believe in: christian, islam, buddhism, etc. And i am also. And i am intolerant to my fellow catholics who are saying something negative to other faiths. Philippine Catholic colleges and universities are very welcoming students of all faiths no discrimination.

Hi! Let me just kindly correct your statement, while it is true that Islam came to the Philippines before Christianity BUT the Philippines was not a "Muslim-country" during the pre-colonial times. There were a lot of religions practiced by other barangays in the archipelago, Islam was just one of those religions, the predominant religion that was practiced were the Indigenous Philippine folk religions.

@@bobblegang14Philippine folk religion is dying now in the province areas not previously Christianized, it's sad that it became that way and I wasn't able to experience what it was like... 20yrs ago they were still practicing folk religion, now they're all Christians and it feels like some sort of cult there... they treat Christianity very seriously...

In fact, a certain area in Tondo - Ugbo - is even famous now for its street food. Anyway, thanks for showing us that place.

Thank you for appreciating our culture, I can certainly feel your sincerity in everything you say about your stay in our beloved Philippines! Unfortunately, one month is not enough to see everything our country has to offer 😊 especially if you prefer the non- tourist areas where the real culture can really be experienced..you still have to see the different "fiestas" (festivals) being celebrated; each city or province has one they are proud of..I am from Bacolod City in Negros Island and we have the world renowned Masskara Festival celebrated annually in October. Maybe you can come and visit us too in the future. There are also a lot to see here.... Oh, don't be apologetic: we don't take offense from the downsides that you mentioned because we also experience that and, yup! it's SO frustrating! We still need to improve on those things (and more, sadly✌️) We say "it's more fun in the Philippines!" but now I can say " it's more fun to see the Philippines with family" as was in your case and you have a beautiful family. Stay safe in your travels. You may not know it but we learn from them too.

I am no Muslim, I am Italian, but have 2 muslim friends, one from Tunisia another from India, and they are so nice people and their families too. I also enjoy a lot to ask many questions about their ways and about the religion, because I am very curious and the more I know (very little yet) the more it seems amazing and gorgeous. It’s sad that many think Muslims are bad people. Maybe there are some bad people like in every group of people and sadly those are the only ones everyone talk about. I believe we can have different cultures, religions and views but if we want, as humans, we can really respect each other and learn a lot especially from those that have different ways. To this day I feel so blessed to have these two Muslim friends and I enjoy a lot listening to them explaining things about religion, celebrations or food, anything. It is very interesting and enriching every time.

Are you from Pakistan or America? You're a Muslim? I saw in one of your Yangon videos where you mentioned you don't eat pork.

I have noticed the girl who served you the halal was so happy you were talking to her out side, but after you were in side and eating you told her it was amazing but her reply was so cold. What happened? it was almost as if she was mad at you.

I didn't know there's a place called Maharlika in Metro Manila, I thought the Muslims were concentrated in Quiapo and Baclaran.

I found the title of this video quite Ironic since the city Manila is actually the watered down version of Min Allah. Min Allah is what the city was called when the Philippines was almost entirely Muslim, before the Spanish Conquistadors.

You should represent good muslim filipino in your vlog, it has been too long that these good filipinos had been exploited by some few bad oppurtunistic foreign terrorist, like ISIS from Saudis,, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Iran & Pakistan. "Inshallah sadique" 🇵🇭🙏
