It’s such a shame too. They absolutely nailed the concept (the setting/s, the executions, the effects, the combat, etc.) but repeatedly fumbled the maintenance of the game. Such a shame. FH is without question one of my favorite games of all time, but I’m glad it set it down for good 6+ months ago

For honor is and will always be the middle child of the Ubisoft family. Completely forgotten until the last moment where Ubisoft cooks up a last minute character or season and acts like they been working on it for a year. Hell all these years later and we still don’t have a ranked dominion

Check your Nat type, I had to change mine and it finally started working. It would shut my internet off WHILE connected to Ethernet cable. It finally stopped doing it after changing nat type

I noticed that if you have a bot on your team if they don't get exchange by a player in the first minutes then the bots will stay the rest of the match.

I was playing a breach match and ALL of my teammates rage quit and left me to fight the most annoying ass team ever and they ended up spawn camping me and there was nothing I could do

For Honor will always be one of my most favorite games of all time. BUT I had to quit because the game just isn’t for casual relaxing after a hard day’s work. My main gripe with this is because the fun characters are just bad and the good characters are just bland and copy and pasted. And losing a fight isn’t fun, not because I just lost but because I lost because I want to play my favorite beef daddy Lawbringer and I get ganked by two characters with every option in the game. And it really just sucks

While yes, the current server issues are severe and should be addressed as soon as possible, I still believe that there are more contributing factors to FH lack of success in recent years. For example, while adding new heroes is great, the fact that it has taken years for them to add a new map to their premier game mode aka dominion, this coupled with the extremely slow process of balancing for the new and existing heroes (which can take months for basic balance changes) also in a more personal note, not having any meaningful QoL additions or changes also diminishes FH as a game, for example the current XP rates which feel slow, the steel sinks such as the high price for emotes or other cosmetics that at this point just feel frustrating, the fact that there hasn't been a single attempt to add a new phrases for the in game quick chat for more variety and customization other than the current ones (this can also lessen the toxicity by offering people other options) the SBMM in the game is bad and shouldn't be here (except for a new player section just like XDefiant) then there's also the map traps like the ledges and spikes which most of the community understands that is just cheesy and should be removed and finally the current dev team bad resource and time priorities, I might get hate here but I don't think spending months working on that Halloween event was the right move, sure it was unique and the best event the game has had but common you can’t sit here and tell me that all that time that was dedicated for a mode we will probably only get once a year is worth it simply because it could've been spent somewhere else like addressing/fixing some of the issues I brought up here. (I don't clearly remember how much time was spent making this game mode, but I know it was a lot)

Listen I love this game, as I am writing this, I just checked my current hours on the game and they are currently 1,250hrs. As much as I love this game, I also hate it simply because there's so much wrong with this game and I know just how good it would be if it had a better direction. It has always baffled me how there hasn't been any meaningful change for years when it comes to the single thing, I believe has kept me playing this game which is customization and fashion, really sit there and think about it how is it that we still have this archaic customization that feels like it's 20 years old? Why do we still have color wheels instead of a full color palette with all of the colors that we've unlocked through event and leveling up? Why do we only have 3 sections for armor pieces, those being helmet, chest and leggings and why don't we have helmet, chest, gauntlets, leggings and boots? Why is it that we can't have multiple material options instead of just choosing 1? Why can't we select specific areas to put colors and materials in? (Imagine being able to chest put your material on the armor edges/Ornamental design rather than on the entire piece or visa versa) Why can't we as a player decide where to put our ornaments? (Imagine being able to put your ornaments on whatever place within your playable character you would like rather than just ahead or the shoulders) Why aren't we able to design our own patterns and apply those patterns to the armor sets that we own? (Imagine rather than creating a banner and plastering it on your armor you could create your own pattern which you could use for any piece of armor that you'd like just like the regular patterns) why aren’t we able to take the rust off the armor pieces/put rust and dents on armor pieces? (Imagine having pristine versions of all armor pieces and damaged and rusted versions of all armor pieces) again this is just a small amount of bullet point questions as to things that we are able to do in other games that are older than FH and more recent than FH. Again, to some people this might just be too much, but then again, I ask you what are you playing for? The answer to this question for me has always been to look good in this game, because I've known for a while that no matter how good I get there will always be someone using lag switches, scripts, and other forms of cheating to simply bypass my skill so I've chosen to invest my time into playing the game casually and trying to look as good as I can which is why I'm frustrated when I'm faced with our current customization systems which we should all acknowledge that is outdated.

Ubisoft is kinda doing the same with Raibow six, its their reputation basically. Ubisoft with their poor developing made me quit R6 but rn im having the time of my life on FH, maybe because im still only rep 43 overall..

Last season was goated for R6 and now there's no content and everyone left. Ubisoft isn't giving enough ressources to their MP game to focus on creating other money machines like Xdefiant

Yo man i play 3-5 hours a day still and while bots do pop in from time to time I don’t feel it’s as often as you eluded too.. unless you’re playing early mornings 3am on weekdays or so is the only time I’ve experienced the bot epidemic as much as you’ve stated. For anyone that’s wondering this game still bad fucking ass and I’m willing to train anyone who’s struggling for free.

If ur good ppl leave deadass. When I'm solo it's not bad but when I'm In full stack we ga k everybody and then they all rage quit we have multiple games a night that end against 3-4 bots and it's so boring

100% agree. For me the main issues killing for honor: 1. Bad servers. I have friends across the globe whove stopped playing because of the constant disconnection and inability to accept game invites. 2. Really slow balancing and character reworks. They are finally moving in the right direction but too little too late, at this rate it's approx 2 reworks per year - at a 30+ hero roster (that is forever expanding) we'll never be in a fun/balanced state. 3. Braindead hero introductions. Pirate is OP but was genuinely fun to play on release. Every hero since then has been braindead with far too many options and far too much safety. 4. Pay to win - devs are incentivised to make new heros OP since people will buy them with steel to stomp on other players. Couple with toxic emotes whicb also cost zteel, the devs have no incentive to balance the game properly or focus on content that actually improves player retention (more reworks to being old cast up to date and viable, new maps, feat reworks, revenge rework, perk rework) 4. SBMM is non existent. Im a half decent player at 500 reps, im constantly carrying my team of randoms while being stacked against a 4 man premade with voice chat. There needs to be a solo q option and imho you should be able to filter who you want to play against with crossplay (id limit mine to just next gen xbox/ps5). Its not fun stomping ps4 and not fun fighting reaction monsters who parry everything on PC. Frame rate and input lag makes a difference - no amount of skill makes up for that. FPS should be capped to balance matches if they want to keep crossplay as it is. 5. Rage quitters - i understand why people do it if the SBMM is ass. But it ruins the game dor everyone left behind. Bots rarely get vackfilled in time to make a difference to the match. And in breach i think in my 500 reps ive been in less than 10 games where someone was backfilled before getting through rhe first gate. post rhe first gate, backfill is nonexistent and then its just 20 mins of C&BT until the match ends

As a console player what ruined the game for me is crossplay playing against a pc player that plays on 200+fps while we are stuck with 70fps with our ps5 is just stupid those pc reaction monsters is what ruined the game for me and if you turn off cross play you won't find a game even if you search for an hour

Bots reading your input is so real. I was playing yesterday and the shaman on the other team left so the bot comes in and i don’t notice its a bot. Because the bot is zoning and feinting into a bash for a wall splat. Heavy soft feint into bleed, everything you would expect a ACTUAL player to do. I only noticed it was a bot when i couldn’t win a single 50/50 with it. It also didn’t fall for unblockable feints, nothing

How would people feel if they gave conq his heavy counters back and feint to bash while removing his chain bash?

Getting dropped near the end of a match you're winning is so frustrating, double when you're about to complete like 3 orders at once and you had a great game... It's so frustrating. Never experienced this until recently, others have dropped but now, it's me it sucks. I hate quitters, I hate few things, people leaving immediately because they're stressed or had a bad match up is what "triggers" me fr. Rocket League comp, for honor a bit, siege and almost every game I play today has this problem, games like pubg, warzone etc have the die leave restart thing and that's fine if you want to quit because you died play a game where that's a mechanic, like pubg warzone dark and darker etc

Honestly, I was really passionate about this game, played it for several hours every day, and watched hours of content, but the content feels lackluster and getting disconnected got to me to a point where I stopped playing for months, now that I'm back I'm washed and I understand why a lot of newer players leave

Ubisoft doesn't have the talent, plain and simple. It has happened for years- rb6, the division, and for honor. Every single update on those games mentioned theres game breaking bugs that makes the game literally unplayable and they take their sweet ass time "fixing" the problem and i absolutely loooooved those games where it was all i played, but they have no talent and i lost faith in those devs years ago where a fuck up is expected with everything they change for "balance" and they fuck it up beyond recognition.

I haven't played the game in a while and came back to check it out again recently. It's been roughly a year since I stopped playing and the game is still pretty much the same. The content drought is definitely a factor to why the player base is shrinking.

I stopped playing For Honor because every character was getting dodge cancels, counters on whiffs and ridiculous recovery time making it hard to punish people for mistakes. The game seemed like it was just going in a direction I couldn’t stand. I didn’t want the game to become so fast either, but I could deal with that. But making it harder to punish people was just annoying.played it for a bout 6 years but that was it for me.

When it comes to bots i always say: that because its a bot. When youi kill/hurt them; you didn't outsmart or outplay them, the game just let it happen. People who downplay bots have no idea and never faced a max bot

The biggest issue is that this only a portion of what makes the game objectively bad. One of my favourite games of all time, but every time I play it, I struggle to find the positives to keep on playing that session, let alone play another time. Also, as an old-gen player now on PC, no cross progression is laughable considering other games that have gotten it implemented, not to mention starting fresh only enhances the incredible amount of issues it has. I hope for the day the game becomes playable again but I do not see that happening.

It’s the queue match making for me. I mostly solo queue and getting put on a team where you are slightly or higher than your team mates but on par with your enemies. Is tough.For honor is not fun when your losing.

When my team has two or more bots I usually just emote spam the rest of the match. I don’t leave because I don’t believe in it (unless I absolutely have to) and I hate it. I see it as a mercy to my enemies in a way because a bot that tries to play the game will make them stay in the not fun match longer. I personally don’t mind taking the L in this scenario (I actually hate it but it’s better than leaving) but there’s almost nothing else to do. I hope Ubisoft fixes this issue before the game dies out for good. I have over 5.5k hours in this game and the amount of times I have had my whole team quit after the first team fight is way higher than it should be.

I think that the indicator shouldn’t swap if the opponent switches which side you are on during a gank. Whatever the indicator was at the beginning of the attack will be it at the end of the attack.

How does a tournament game mode sound? Everyone starts off in their own little caged arena and advance when the other players finish their fights. The final 2 players have a battle surrounded by the other players and they get pushed in if they try to run away. The execution would give you a choice between your own or an honorable one.

I play Breach 9/10 times, and when there’s a bot on the team you’re absolutely cooked. It’s a near guaranteed loss. On defense, after the first breach, people just give up when there’s a bot. 6/10 matches halfway to the second gate if the ram has over 50% HP they just leave. I end up with most of my Breach matches with a bot ending with just me.

I have gigabit internet, plugged to the router directly, and have ports forwarded and For Honor constantly tells me I have “major packet loss” which is crap. I have under 10 ping in every game, including For Honor, and people are flickering like they are lag switching. I used to think For Honor had a massive cheating problem, but I think their servers are just shit.

i like playing raider from time time but there is this problem that he has i don't know if it's just me but every time i swing a light attack most if not all attacks does this lag thing where you cut through another blocking player making blocking raider mostly pointless

I stopped playing the game, because it genuinely feels like the entirety of ubisoft has some vendetta against me, specifically. I played for honor ever since it went free for a week the first time on steam. I played it for ages, took a break for a few months due to internet difficulties, and ever since I came back it was like everything had gone to hell. Inputs regularly not registering, block being ignored, guardbreak counters and parries being ignored, all that junk. it felt like 1/3 attacks would simply go through my guard because the game deemed it so. This wasn't a hardware issue on my end, as it happened on EVERY PC I used. I stuck around despite the issues, despite my not great anger management, only for ubisoft to begin disconnecting me at random from my matches. Usually it disconnected me from like 1 match out of every 5, but when I played with friends it turned into every single match. When I finally got my friend to hop on and ubisoft kept disconnecting me, I just quit. I had recently tried to get back into R6S with my friends, because they were playing it. Constant crashing, one out of every 2 matches I simply could not play through because of it. My drivers were up to date, the game ran perfectly, I verified files many times, reinstalled the game multiple times, my internet connection was perfectly fine, it was just another issue spawned out of literal nothingness. The same problem, again and again, for many ubisoft games. This kind of thing literally only happens with ubisoft games, as far as I can recall. It genuinely feels like they specifically hate me, for some reason. anyhow, that's all for my little rant. I really loved for honor, and I wish I could play it consistently, without having it boot me out of matches I do well in over and over again.

I just got pirate after maining warden for a while, i simply wanted a dodge attack silly quick moveset. But i quickly realized she is an insanely strong gank/antigank character. Her feats are not that strong except for her cannon, but really it barely takes skill to learn her and get good with her. I see why people get mad.

Every match people are rep 100 total while I'm sitting at rep 25ish total, it's not fun at the moment and I feel most fights are becoming repetitive with either lightspam or really difficult characters like hito

Tbh. I'm glad FH is focusing more on 4v4, that being said, I would LOVE to have ubi or another studio actually build a fighting game with the skeleton of this system. I love duels, I loved hyper focusing on just fighting the person in front of me and nothing else. Feels wonderful lol.

8:32 THIS, so many times players leave just because they cant win fights or theyre getting ganked, but that in many times is the fun aspect about the game being at disadvantage can turn into such a difficult scenario where it looks like theres no chance of winning and thats something very hard to pull off. Its sad that as game keeps moving foward a lot of that gets lost.

tell me if I'm wrong but a solution I found to help with not disconnecting a lot is going to graphics and lowering the render distance to 70 or 75 or even 80. I don't know how that works at all with the connection but it helped me but even at that I don't ever lag in games but I lag every 8 games so it's not to bad.

It’s not even just that it’s also the feats in general them making all these new ones and the projectiles killing me constantly makes you not wanna play the main mode they have to focus on maybe a ranked or a new mode completely

I picked this game up at the suggestion of my friend group while it was on GP, probably ‘16-‘17 or so. I chose Lawbringer as my first main and i was hooked. Played on Xbox, migrated to PC, had a blast. But over the years….things changed. I may have gotten older, but I haven’t played for a year. I became anxious and snappy every time I turned the game on. Disconnects, lag, and toxicity sent me over the edge many times. Hero balance, server stability, and getting emote spammed by a 2 stack in brawls first game every time finally drove me away. I still watched my favorite creators play it, as some form of proxy to enjoy the game I loved. I sometimes think about blowing the dust off, but videos like these remind me it’s like going back to an abusive ex.

Yeah same here I used to play on ps4 I only played for fun since frames were ass. Didn't help that controller drift is a big thing for ps4 controllers but I played night and day literally 33+ hours of just gaming straight. But I stopped playing for a year or so came back played for a bit then stopped. Then I stopped again for almost another year then recently got a laptop. So i been playing for honor on here and its playable now. I don't get disconnected anymore had to lower my graphics just so I didn't. But totally understand it's literally an abusive ex.

I’ve always wanted a 6v6 or 8v8 ,bc it give a more battle/bigger fight experience with real players ,but if they aren’t good or real players then it will be bad bc there is no challenge, but u got a point about the bots (they need to nerf orochi ,that constant storm rush makes me hate the game more then usual)

i wanna pay my respects to you solidsol. I pretty much agree with every singe point you make, and i really hope that they open up develoment to the community. I have no doubt in my mind that there is people out there who would create gorgeus armors and executions, and how many people in this community is not shaking at the chance to participate in the fixing of this broken game. why dont they hire more people instead of releasing more battleoutfits

When i see an Orochi spamming storm rush and kick mixup i cannot think nothing except look at his stamina bar and it is the same size of my HP bar

As a generally higher skill player, I can deal with a 3v4. 2 bots on our team is pushing it, but I think there could be larger maps and dominion modes with more players. I don’t know if the engine can handle that. Matchmaking in this game is so atrocious though; I think we can literally benefit from having no mmr in this game, which is wild.

Dominion upgrade: 3 teams and 4 points on the map to fight in for dominon. Would add for a lot more strategy and complexity evolving dominon and competativeness.

The servers can barely handle 2 people, how would you manage more with McDonalds quality servers?

I play for fun. So even if my team wins or loses, I don't care as long as I'm playing good. And even if I play like crap one game, I know I can do better the next one. What I do like is playing in a game with one or more bots because some joker left when we're losing. Then I might quit if we're before the middle of the match.

Can we talk about The high Ping Players? I hate nothing more to lose to a Player with a 60-200 latency and theres so Many of them

The bad part is generally, you're blaming the wrong person, a lot of the time it's the servers causing the latency. I average20-30 last night, I had 80 plus and then it would spaz out, and boot

​@@luciferfears8238I'm not happy with my bad iraq ping it's just toured me it's became rare to see it 40 55 when it's does the game become more playable. the framerate are nothing without low ping I have 165monitor and get full of it because of high ping

I think the biggest issues is allowing a reinforcement and rewarding uninteractive playstyles. When every salty runback in brawls is a varangian or other fullblock hero, with a large sweeping armor hitbox giver like shugoki, medjay, raider, highlander. It prepetuates two types of skill progression and not overall game sense as a whole. I'm a major player in the brawl scene with friends and its almost always a higher skilled player with high skill ceiling characters only using their, deflect,s superior lights, or fullblock counters, and a lower skill player swinging for the fences. With a few exceptions its always JUST THIS. It's a little saddening as I dont really play for the numbers but so many high level players with full gear scores and reps in the several hundreds rage at me over my playstyle. Meanwhile, I havent had a single fight I havent driven the tempo of in yearssss. I understand a strike first approach isnt always a good thing, but when a first interaction has to be so well formulated to even begin your combo game and exit neutral it just makes it incredibly uninviting to newer or lower skilled players. Imagine SF third strike to a new player and having to fight Daigo. It's just not a skill margin that can be closed or adapted from in the time a match has to play out for a newer player.

Isn't there a 20 minute matchmaking penalty if you leave a game early?

You reach a point in matchmaking where casual isn’t an option and it really sucks to be honest because that’s when the games faults start coming out - between a shinobi running across the map retaining a ready to pop revenge 24/7 and a Jörm who can forward bash you out of existence because it hardly feeds revenge [Had to watch one put 2 full stamina bars worth into my teammate before he got revenge (being in a gank with at 1st 2 and then 4 people)]. Honestly the leaving point for me is when I’m having to body at least 3 people to contest in hopes of my teammates doing something helpful in the background… [Revenge is whack as hell in this game]

My For Honor teammates like to let me 1v1 and sometimes watch me die and then get double teamed and die, and then do it again, so then I spend the rest of the game following them and hitting them with zone attacks

I just got off and I played for 6 hrs and didn't disconnect once.. nor did I see someone leave.. I also play on Xbox tho.

I think, as a community, we should be grateful that a 10 year old game is in the condition it is now. Is it perfect? No. Does he receive the correct amount of support? No. But we should thank god we still get to play for honor and receive updates. There are still a lot of problems to be resolved, but the correct way in my opinion is focusing on one at the time. Balance the game, then add maps, then think about disconnections/ranked modes, then add QoL changes.

Nah. They charge too much for everything.

Playing this game casually with friends is great because the matchmaker doesn't put 4 kiddie fiddlers on the other team, usually just one for you to contest. But solo queueing at a decent skill level and its just full of disgusting orochi abusers and people that know how useless revenge is. once you reach a certain skill level you really start to notice the glaring issues still plaguing the game. namely balance, revenge, and how useless/oppressive bots can be.

For honor is bad for so many reasons, but the worst thing of all is that dominion is the only game mode people play. There need to be new game modes or incentives to play the others that already exist

If any team is even remotely losing on Breach, expect the entire team to quit.

worst bot to deal with is the ones that flip from complete potato lvl1 to suddenly reading absolutely everything and then back to potato a few seconds later... wtaf???

Honestly, I wanna see a For Honor faction in XDefiant. Warden, Raider, Kensei the three free skins and an ultimate that makes you temporarily an insta kill melee only character with boosted movement speed and damage reduction

Ubisoft really struggles with (I was going to say competitive but seeing the other franchises) making games not feel like they're abusing you... Rainbow 6 Siege, Assassin's Creed, etc. all started out as good games or good franchises with lots of love deservedly given but I can't bring myself to play any of them after hundreds of hours in them, it's crazy.

I also think firing everyone on the team that balances or adjusts the game would help for honor. In my opinion, a hero should either have dodge attacks or Unierruptible attacks, not both.

I’m so glad you finally put this video up. I been complaining about this game and its inconsistent gameplay. I agree it’s a unique game and yes I try to improve myself but honestly this game is just…..will remain incomplete.

I love playing the game, i really do. But server issues. It's only for honor where i lag and disconnect the way i do. It hurts my soul

For Honor has a paradox situation. They need money to bring more people onto the team, that would allow them to update and advertise more. The problem is they need a bigger community and a larger casual audience to maintain that cash flow, but the only way to return that hype is by advertising more, and making bigger changes. The only way they get out of this potential death is by welcoming passion project devs onto the team who are more concerned about the game than the politics or money behind it. The issue is in this economy there are not many people who have the spare time and no lack of money to commit to such a task.

Tbf, the game is like seven years old, so i wouldn't be surprised if the dev team shrank substantially since the release.

In Siege, people who leaves are banned for like 1 hour and more they leave games, more time they're banned and with the reputation system, they will no longer acess to ranked games. Also, others players can cancel the game if a player leaves, beacuse it's too tough to play at 4vs5. In For Honor, sometimes there are games with 3 bots AT THE BEGINING OF THE GAME, the game shouldn't start until there are 8 players in my opinion

I dont think its disconnects. Its people quitting when they die once

all my games are me joining past half way then all my team leaves and its just me. soooo fun thats why I uninstalled cba having 100gb taking up for just that.

Yeah the disconnect issues are tough. Was playing with friends the other day and as soon as we get a match I would disconnect while they stayed. And if it's not me it's a friend who gets the issue. Then there's the issues with player reps. I like breach better than dominion but I'm around rep 1270 now! So ppl running away from Dominion because of the clans will find me and my team there. And when your picked character has more reps than the sum of total reps of everyone on the other side, you end up fighting way more bots than players. I know if I want to fight against more skilled players I'd better go to dominion but the disconnect issues in Dominion is insane. And even though my friends are pretty good their bot will be the most stupid available who can't decide if they should go up or down a ladder. On the other hand enemy bots will stomp you and gank you like they're players. Been tough to play this game but it's a drug and I'm addicted to it 8 years and 7k+ hours that I keep wasting in it wish it could be a better game lol One thing that would make the game better is removing FOMO being forced to rush in the game to try get one emote or execution for ate least one character because after that it's gone is something that pisses me off

i'd love to see a for honor revamp, or for honor 2 and just focus on fixing these issues

Revenge needs to drain after like say 8 seconds of holding and your time get reduced until zero. Then revenge needs super armor so you arent stagger and gb'd in the middle of chains.

Just started playing for honor again. I've had a ton of fun playing 2v2 with my friend.

I think zanny said it best, "there is always a bot, whether its join in matchmaking, someone leaving, or someone playing so bad they might as well be a bot"

Dominion ranked would be so much fun and promote people to actually play ranked.
