    I imagine the priest is aware that the confession could be for reparation as I have noticed the lines for confession and attendance at church are higher volume on the 1st Fridays & 1st Saturdays. I would say it to the Lord in prayer, that's what I am planning to do; since I don't know 100% it can't hurt to mention it to the priest as well. I only responded to this because I didn't see a response & don't want you to be discouraged or delay the devotion, which starts tomorrow, without an answer. He also has a talk on this "explaining the faith First Fridays & Saturdays, but I don't remember if that was ever mentioned. No need to be too scrupulous..Jesus knows your heart and your intentions. As I’ve gone through life, I’ve come to the realization that our minds throw out all kinds of thoughts and images. It used to bother me terribly until I read that it’s a problem when you consent to those thoughts. In response to a prior text, it’s my understanding that your sins are forgiven at mass during the penance rite at the beginning of mass. Whoever is responding to my text I greatly appreciate it. I’m hoping this is an answer to prayer. Because I’ve asked the Lord in the past to help me To know what to bring to confession. I have plenty of faults that I know.

    What do I do for confession if I can not get to a church? I am Epileptic, do not drive, and do not have supportive family. They are Protestant Christians but unwilling to drive me pretty much anywhere except to semi-annual dr appointments. My father has never taken children anywhere; that was always a woman's job. My mother rarely drives anymore. No one in community to turn to. I am pretty isolated. I am a new catholic convert, a year next weekend. I was just talking to a Parish about RCIA when Covid hit. I am a baptized believer and have been studying catechism and other resources. No income since March of last year when millions were laid off due to restrictions. I watch EWTN and do the best I can but I am pretty isolated. Any suggestions? Going out on my own is not an option for me at this time. I have no idea when or if I will work again. And while my spirit yearns to partake fully in the sacraments I do know certain saints throughout history have had to endure persecution or trials. And I am not a Saint. I have a dilemma. Should I believe Faustina and give back the Eucharist "Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world." ? Or should I believe John (6:56) "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him." and keep the Eucharist?

  • @idgafidgaf3059

    @idgafidgaf3059

    The latter still supports the former. Quoting St John is in no way contradicting St Faustina’s prayer. Why? Well, how are you going to do what John says by “whoever eats my flesh?” By receiving the Eucharist at Mass right? And what exactly is the reason for our priests celebrating the mass? to OFFER a living sacrifice to the father, which is Jesus Christ Himself in the form of the Eucharist. Just like in Judaism where animal sacrifice is done in the temple for sin

Our Blessed Lord said that the Eucharist is the most important if we want to remain in Him and He in us. The sacrifice of our Blessed Lord we offer to the Father for Transubstantiation - exactly for Eucharist. Is it more clear now?

    The Catholic Church is so complex with all of these man made rules. By contrast, Scripture is simple and clear: confess with your mouth and He (Jesus, not Mary) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. No rosary, no special days of prayer on Fridays and Saturdays, no 15 minute timer, etc. Given the choice, I’ll do what God commanded in His sacred and infallible Word.

  • @DivineMercy_Official

    Sorry Tom, they aren't man-made rules. They are called apostolic, which are God's rules given to the mankind through those entrusted to him, such as the patriarchs and Church Fathers. That is what the Catholic Church is based on in addition to Scripture. You're missing quite an important part of what God established. We have Scripture too, but we don't ignore that part as you do. God bless.
