Therapist reacts to Metallica - Nothing Else Matter (FIRST TIME REACTION)

Музыка

Therapist analyzes Nothing Else Matters by Metallica to discuss the freedom that comes from knowing what is important and what's not. She talks about how listening to so many voices and seeing so many potential paths can lead to a feeling of overwhelm, and the statement "nothing else matters" allows a person to move down their chosen path with a focus which allows for faster forward momentum

The singer (James Hetfield) actually wrote this song for his then-girlfriend. The song is about long-distance relationships and missing your loved one. But this is the genius of his writing. He can write lyrics to a song and people can interpret it very differently, because he is able to write it so universally.

I always say in reaction videos how james writes lyrics in a way that is very personal to him yet vague enough for the listener to interpret them unto their own life’s experiences! He is a master poet for sure. Hundreds of years from now people will be reflecting on how spectacular a writer he was!

Fade to Black is another that for me saved me the most It's sounds dark but the lyrics let me feel that I was not alone I'm not the only one going through what I'm going through. The build up through out the song lifts you up and bye the end of the song you are pumped and full of energy. Thankyou for reacting to Metallica I've bin listening to them since 1986 and I'm still here.

The song "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica is about how difficult life can be, but that we should always remember to live our lives and not let those things ruin us. It's about overcoming adversity and realizing that the tragedies of life are just something that happens to everyone, regardless of their position.

I like how you to dissect the song and meaning. Many just "listen" to the song and only appreciate that much of the songs. I appreciate the combination of not only the lyrics but how the music is composed to is collaborated to boost the meaning.

I happened to find this right after watching the Wings For Marie reaction, and my mother just passed away recently, I had a paper route at the age of 15, and I didn't have a driver's license obviously, my mother would drive me around at 5 o'clock in the morning, I'd torment her with Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, and this is one of the only songs she likes, she was 85 years old and whenever she heard this song, she'd start singing along. You've got me crying my eyes out today, but the catharsis is healing and is very much so appreciated. From a clinical perspective, I'd be interested in seeing a few different reactions, The Pain Remains Trilogy, this one is 20 minutes long, but you should do it all at once, the official video with lyrics, I've already watched your reaction to Only For The Weak by In Flames, there's a live recording of The Chosen Pessimist from the album A Sense Of Purpose that is absolutely gorgeous, and Fade In/Fade Out by Nothing More. All 3 of these are incredible.

Hello...I just came across this reaction/ dissection of one of my favorite songs growing up, and all I can say is, you're exactly right. I've dealt with Schizophrenia since I was 11, and I literally taught myself how to listen to the voices that matter most to me, and ignore everything else. it's been a struggle, especially when my depression kicks in...but, when I focus on my building voices, instead of my teardown ones, it gets me through, and I come out the other side stronger. 'Nothing Else Matters' is by far, Metallica's best blueprint for dealing with chaotic voices...and it almost didn't make it on the album! if not for everyone cajoling James to put it on the album, I don't know where the world would be right now. Again, great reaction, and think you for understanding what music, in general, has been teaching us from the beginning. Have a wonderful week ahead, and I look forward to the next Metallica reaction you do. Bye...

This psychologist asked different questions than the first one i went to, and it made me realise what has caused all the discomfort, all the dramatic thoughts, all the worries, all the suicidal thoughts…..it all started as jealousy and one step i took without really knowing how much of an impact it had on me personally was to delete my Facebook account, it helped me a lot to focus on what was important to me. My wife passed away just over a year ago at 54. This song has meant so much more to me in this past year. I still cry almost every time I hear it. 💔

From I-Am-Reclaimer: @scottalynch Hey friend, I'm terribly sorry to hear about your loss. That's a lot to deal with and a very recent thing. I'm glad that you have a song that you can go to as music is such a healing force and metal is extremely cathartic in its own rite. The pain you've got inside needs a way to be released and I'm glad that you have a way to release it when listening.

From tromboness: @scottalynch That is difficult to lose someone that you spent years of your life with. A year is not a lot of time since losing one so close to you. I'm glad that this song has touched you, and I hope it has also helped you through the grieving process. Hold Fast.

From Micro: @scottalynch I'm so sorry for your loss, friend. It's terrible to lose the very person you've been sharing your life with and partnering with. I can only imagine the immensity of your pain and how difficult it's been already to survive through this year without her. It is completely understandable to cry and to miss her when it feels like your very own heart has been removed of such an important part of itself. Your world has been changed so brutally and it's unfair to haveto learn to deal with the absence and the silences. I wish we could collectively give you a giant hug right now, and hope for the tears to help at least in letting some of the emotions out when they get particularly heavy. If you ever need to let things out, vent and safe people to listen, you are always welcome to do it here. If you are willing to share - no pressure from me at all -, I would also love to hear more about her, the kind of person she was and the impact she had on you. Sometimes it helps, even just for a little bit, to share found memories and the name of the person we miss the most, for the rest of the world can still meet her through you, and you can keep carrying on her voice. Sending much love your way.

Elton John said this song was the greatest ever written and it brought James to tears. James was embarrassed when he wrote this song to play it or even think about adding it to an album but his drummer heard it & told him it was so beautiful & it needed to be recorded.

You’ve slightly misquoted him here. He didn’t say it was the greatest song ever written, he said it was one of the greatest songs ever written.

Please do more metallica! Back in April I developed panic attacks ( extreme ones) , and bad anxiety. Music is one of the most important things that helps me get by! Rock music, and metal mostly! I love that I am seeing more people become accepting of it, and into it! Younger people too! I am 41 so it is pretty cool to see 18, 19, 20 year olds finding metallica! You can also check out In This Moment! Edit here... I am also a recovering addict almost 9 years sober! My favorite Metallica song is Called Bleeding Me! The Lyrics to it are so good! It explains Exactly how I felt trying to stay sober before I did stay sober.

He didn't want to release this song. He wrote it for himself when producer Bob Rock walked by and said he should add the song to the album, and suggested a change. James Hetfield shot daggers at him.

Just came upon your Channel this morning. Thank You! I'm Older, Been Clean Sober for, haha...lose count but 26yrs. I do struggle at times, not with a "Relapse" although always present but relating to people Less Now than I EVER have. Daily I don't understand the HEROIN Social Media is for people. It is in every aspect of their lives. I see the exact same behavior I had as an addict in everyone else. Social Media is THEIR FIX. I just lived in a time prior to Social Media when you Lived and You Learned, not being "INFLUENCED" by what may or may not be true, may or may not be beneficial, may or may not be acceptable. I QUIT going to Concerts, All the Phones recording, People Literally incapable of LIVING IN THE MOMENT. I am actually living the song The SOUND OF SILENCE. Keeping it short, that's it. smile Anyway It's good to listen to a Clear Mind. Thnx. No, the Irony of what I just wrote on a Social Media Platform is not lost on Me. 🙃Just Reaching out for Sanity.

Most people like to disregard the albums these songs are on but there is a lot to dissect on "Outlaw Torn", "Bleeding Me", "Hero Of The Day", "Mama Said", "Fixxer", and "Low Man's Lyric". Some of the best writing Metallica/James Hetfield has ever done is on those songs.

Metal isn't what the masses think, it's not just angry yelling (as you can see here). Metal is about expressing one's feelings, dreams or frustration. Go to most metalheads and we are (usually) more centered and happy than anyone else. There's even an KZread video on why metalheads are happier

Loved watching your reactions. ❤ I turned 13 the year this album came out and a close friend gave it to me as a gift. The next year I saw them live in my first concert. And while I related to many songs in this album it was their older song Sanitarium that was my scream at the Devil rage song. Love to see a therapist pov on it.

You should respond to Nightwish. Nightwish - The Poet And The Pendulum. It's a song about severe depression by the band's composer and keyboardist.
