Theoretical Probability, Permutations and Combinations
What are the odds when you play the lottery? When you bet on a horse race? When you flip a coin? That you'll have a good day today? Some of these are simple questions. Some, more difficult. But most events involve probabilities that can be assessed and quantified. Let's look at a few, starting with easy ones, and then trickier ones, while defining permutations and combinations along the way!

It feels so good to have completed all of this. Never would have believed I'd have gone through a full algebra course so long after leaving school as I've always seen maths as a bit of a blind spot, but I feel so much more confident in going onto more complex maths now. I can't thank you enough Prof Dave. You are a hero!
I just finished algebra 1 and 2 and geometry this quarantine, (and also astronomy), time to head out to trigo and calculus. thanks a lot prof dave! I've learned a lot and had fun!

After the time I've spent on studying your lessons. I think I've gotten addicted with the intro. It's like a ritual that I need to watch first before the lesson starts. 🤣
My son is taking statistics got an 81% on a big test last night I’m very proud of him I didn’t think that this would be very applicable in real life but after watching this video I can see I was clearly wrong.
Thanks for this video :D I love the subject and hope you'll make soon one about Bayes' theorem.
Thank you and all those involved in the content, contributions, efforts and production of this channel. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all. May the new year bring you, your families and friends much health, wealth, happiness, safety, security, appreciation, respect and peace.

Is it only you who is handling all the work of this channel? Don't you ever get tired or something? Can't beleive it dude
these tutorials are incredibly helpful. thanks professor dave!
If this playlist was a book, I'd buy it.
Simply you are multi talented Dave😃😃
i love this video! thank for your passionate
we just loved Heather!! ❤️🤸🐬🙌
Wassup Dave. You helped me survive OCHEM. Thanks bro.
This is a good place for learning the basics and intermediate stuff.
Are you going to make a tutorial about the binomial theorem????
You're the best teacher ever 🥰
great vid, but just a small question: where are the answers for Heather's assignments (full house, flush, pair)? i checked the probability online and my answers were completely wrong.
kindly make a video on conditional probability, bayes theorem as well.
Can you explain why we are dividing the combination by extra r!
Love this dude. I have students use him as a supplement

Awesome video Dave!
When are we getting statistics?:) Sorry for sounding like this It would be just very great
Grazie mille Dave! Is it possible for you to create a series on statistics too?

Indeed. With the knowledge and expertise of Professor Dave. I bet he'll make an extravagant video about the explanation on all of those lessons in statistics.
Very nice video
Holy shit, this was great!!! Thanks a lot 👍
Thumbs Up for this excellent video from a German Math Tutor :D

About the example with the 2 dices there is something I don’t get. Why are for example 3&5 and 2&6, 3&6, 4&5, and 4&6 counted double and 4&4, 5&5 and 6&6 not. This does not make any sense for me.

Stat mech books be like "yea probabilities are obvious *throws coin flip example, dice example* okay now what are the total number of microstates of a quantum oscillator with total energy between E and E + dE with n quantum numbers and N oscillators?"

Hi Before studying algebra 2 should we study geometry or no

They can be studied independently until they can't.
This is so confusing but makes sense probably
I didn't understood a jack.
Hey guys im so lost with my assignment about probability (including combinations) so What if a player is given 2 rounds to pick a color? For example, the player must get a pink and a pink to win a game, a pink and a blue is a loss regardless of the order. Considering that there are 10 overall options 4 pink,3 blue, 2 black and 1 brown . 100 trials for example. Will I be using combinations with repetition formula (because colors can be repeated)? My working out so far: Based from the combination with repetition formula -> 11C2 = 55 Pink and Blue -> 12 Pink and Black -> 8 Pink and Brow -> 4 Blue and Black -> 6 Blue and Brown -> 3 Black and Brown -> 2 Pink, Pink -> 10 Blue, Blue -> 6 Black, Black -> 3 Brown,Brown -> 1 which all totals to 55, Am I on track or completely off track? or do I use the other formula? so for example pink and blue to convert it into percent its going to be (12/55) x 100 = 21.81 percent ish of getting it or is it going to be pink and blue example (4/10 x 3/10) X 100 =12 percent of getting it?? please T^T

For every trial: The total of combinations is 45. Good combinations are the sum of pairs: 6 + 3 + 1 === 10. Probability: 10 / 45 === 2 / 9.
