Then And Now Photos of 100 Year Old People | Faces Of Century Vol.1

► Then And Now Portraits of Centenarians
► Hello everyone and welcome back to Mystery Scoop.
A photographer captures the faces of a century and the results are truly fascinating. Ageing is a natural process and people's appearances change with the passing of time. Spotting the difference isn't always easy in day to day life though. On the other hand, Czech photographer Jan Langer, photographed over a dozen centenarians and compared photographs taken while they were young, to those taken when they were over 100 years old. The comparative photos explore the similarities and the differences in appearance. The effects of time become apparent and there's a profound sentimental aspect to it. Please check the video, to see these incredible photos, with a touch of AI animation.

It's very interesting how our noses and ears keep growing, as our lips and eyebrows thin out. I am also reminded of a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: Beautiful young people are accidents of nature; beautiful old people and works of art.

I couldn't help but look at their noses and ears, but I never previously thought about the lip factor. They don't actually grow. The rest of the face loses volume- the combination of loss of facial bone mass, tooth loss, buccal fat pad loss and loss of the collagen frame work beneath the skin that leads to wrinkles, hollowing, sagging and inelasticity, so it only appears that the more cartilaginous structures of the nose and ears grew larger in contrast.

One of my favorite memories is being able to enjoy my great grandmother who lived to 102. The stories and history she would tell me was better then any book or tv show. I could listen to her for hrs. I live in a very large farming community now and take fresh produce and eggs to our local elderly. They to have so much knowledge and stories, they absolutely love telling and teaching. It's ashame many elderly don't have anybody to tell their stories to. We should consider our elderly as priceless possessions. And cherish them.

The saving grace is as we get older. We are more ready to accept moving on to the next phase. I know there is Heaven because of my faith in Jesus. I am not afraid of death. Aging is the hard part. And seeing loved ones pass. I’m more afraid of what leads up to death, but I know He will be with me.

Did you just skip 3 and 4? Nr. 3 looked so scared, already when young. Nr. 4 looked hopeful when young. But my, did her heart get crushed over time. She looks angry and bitter in old age. I felt very sorry for the both of them.

Beautiful! Thanks for that video. Please show us more. Ageing is a privilege... doesn't need to be hidden by beauty interventions. There ist so much dignity in the older faces, you never reach this dignity after interventions.

I wonder why people of "yesteryear" looked so much older than their ages when they were young? It seems to have stopped being that way perhaps two or three generations ago.

Yet they don't look old for their ages at 100, in fact they look younger than many modern 80 year olds. Perhaps it's just the hair/ clothing styles that we associate with older people.

It’s wild to think you have all day or even all week to do something and before you know it you look in the mirror and the look on your face says where has time gone to and before you know it your time is up . Don’t blink just like that your six years old and your taking a nap and you wake up and your twenty five and high school sweetheart became your wife is the truest part of life . Thank God for length of life these wonderful people has lived. 🙏🏻

Most of the people shown in this video aged very gracefully. I live in one of the countries which are considered of ¨Blue zone¨ (Costa Rica) for the number of centennials. But aging is a brutal process.

Numbers 3 and 4 brought me to tears after reading about them. I don't know if I'd want or like to live until their age...I think I'd be content with a happy rest of of Life and knowing that my adult kids continue to grow and mature with time - not revert back to adolescence. Happy to say that both of them are doing just fine right now 🤗 These were beautiful, Mystery Scoop...Thank you!

You can tell the person through their eyes such beautiful moments of their lives caught on camera they still look beautiful in their old age ,feel for the lady whose wish is just to die y she feels her life has come to its end and is just waiting for some peaceful rest 🌸

What would be really interesting would be to take the youth photo and have it aged by the computer, then compare that version to what the person actually looks like today.

As always your videos are amazing but this one, also a little sad. I have photos of my Papa age 15, and he passed age 84. But look the same in his eyes. Age is a blessing, and I hope we all cherish our elderly. Thank you.
