Themoacoustic heat engine (The rice engine) shakes my house

Playing around with my rice engine I decided to power it with my induction cooker instead of candles. Since the input power is much higher, the engine goes into crazy mode and shakes my whole room (exaggerating of course).
This Theoacoustic engine has a lot of potentials, and a lot of science t learn from. If I would have seen such a thing when I was a child, I would have become a super famous scientist by now.
Here is the link of the previous video, how to make the engine:

Several of my MSc students defended their thesis last month and only one is left. Jelle did it yesterday, congratulations Jelle. Ravi, Ashutosh, and Uwais defended at the end of August, they all did good work, so congratulations guys. Hassan is the last one which will defend next week on Wednesday. Good luck Hassan.

Hhehe is crazy how simple it is , I wish I could make one using one kind of piston instead of the rubber membrane , just to make it look more mechanical

Very cool and interesting! ! It looks like a car engine! Even I also want try this by myself at home. Btw, I am worry about your induction cooker😃. The shaking may broke the glass.

Hi Yiming, yes try it. It is fascinating how this simple design can actually work. And yes I tried to be careful with that glass top. They are usually very strong though.

Why did it stop? DOes the water last or do you have to keep adding it?

Probably because it got overheated. It needs a heat exchanger to keep working for a long time.
