Coyote hunting is about the only method of controlling the spread of coyotes and their numbers far exceed the number taken by hunters. Trapping coyotes does not work well at all as they are usually too smart to be taken with traps.
Science has shown that coyotes take a heavy toll on whitetail fawns. At least one study found that coyotes can eat as many as 75 percent of the fawns born in a single spring and deer populations are declining in some parts of the country, possibly as a result of an increase in coyote numbers.

Great review and thanks for the tip on setting the rifle caliber in the reticle yardage settings. To get instant recording, just pause while your recording and when you hit the record button again, it starts recording instantly. Looking forward to the Adder 35 384 review, as that's going to be my new backup scope. Hopefully it'll have the ability to set the caliber yardage numbers to the reticle like you do with the thermions.

@@Theolddeerhunters What is the normal, high and ultra do? I pressed them but couldn't tell a difference. Of course, this was in the yard and not in the woods. Any info is greatly appreciated.

@@kennygates1756 Sensitivity enhancement levels (Normal, High, Ultra) are software algorithms that enhance the quality of detection and recognition in various observation conditions. When the temperature contrast decreases (fog, precipitation, high humidity), it is recommended to increase the amplification level. On a really clear, cool night, there may mot be much difference.

@@Theolddeerhunters Jason mentioned that this scope had a better senser for the conditions you stated but didn't tell me I had to select for the conditions. Great info and straight to the point. I greatly appreciate it and would give you three thumbs up if I could. It's pretty simply to operate and going to download the manual from Pulsar's website so I fully understand the capabilities of the device.

I was considering the Helion 2 XP50 Pro, but I'd like something I can hunt with occasionally. Do you think the Thermion 2 Pro XP50 could be used for dual purposes when paired with a qd mount like yours?

  • @Theolddeerhunters

I would not recommend using a Thermion as a scanner. It is long and hard to hold steady. But if you do not have scanner, there's nothing better than the Helion XP50 Pro.
