Great bass solo!! I love that he keeps walking but goes in and out of the harmony making a lot of tension and the repeated phrase is also great !

He was the first Bebop tenor player I listened to as a kid. He is still one of my all time favourites. No one else sounds like him.

That ride cymbal sounds an Eb7 lol - like a pedal-tone for the whole piece, and the bass is more driving than Ray Brown - incredible rhythmic push and pull bs/drms creates a pocket wider than a clowns ...- incredible swing feel !! thanks BBC ! and super post... (btw i know the piece is RC in Bb..... duh)

Talking to myself: This session was miked up really nice. Drums came through nice and clear, the bass.. sounded great, piano and sax as well. Credit to the sound guys.
