The Zulu Cobra AH-1Z Viper

The United States Marine Corps (USMC) replaced the two-bladed AH-1W Super Cobra with the AH-1Z Viper, which features a new, four-bladed composite rotor system, performance-matched transmission, four-bladed tail rotor, upgraded landing gear and a fully integrated glass cockpit. The AH-1Z is equipped with an integrated advanced fire control system and the capacity to support multiple weapons configurations.

Always love it when I see these things fly over
I see a lot of these flying around my house (near Camp Pendleton). Every now and then I'll see a Venom or two, but not as often.

What a beast of a helicopter
When engineers want to see how many systems can be stuffed into a very small airframe. "yes really, we can fit that in." And so they will need more letters for the additional variants to come.

I hoped for the same thing for the F-14 Tomcat. Best fighter jet built period and yet retired.

@@Airman.. Helicopter - Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles. The Navy is already looking to fully implement these: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_MQ-8_Fire_Scout And the Marines are right behind them. AH-1Z's are already being retired and parted out. along with UH-1Y's , they are just over 10 years old. we spent some serious money on developing and implementing the 1Y and the 1Z, and its a total waste that they have not served nearly half the service life their predecessors served, and are already on DoD Chopping blocks for unmanned systems.

faster and more agile than the Apache, ive watched Viper Cobra's dance circles around Apaches maneuverability wise.
