This film is scary as hell and unfortunately, very timely. I don't know how people who can commit heinous acts like these are able to sleep at night, or even look at themselves in the mirror. Compassion and empathy are human characteristics, yet so many are utterly devoid of it.
I saw this film yesterday, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. It may be the first movie I've seen where the Nazis are portrayed as "real" people, not as stereotypes or caricatures which makes it all the more unsettling. You cannot see what is happening behind the wall but you can feel it through the characters and and the symbolism. Brilliant piece of cinema!
The shot at
This trailer is terrifying, I love how the atmosphere is created to make me feel extremely unsettled without knowing why. Looking forward to seeing it.
I don't think I've ever waited to see another film as much as I've been waiting to see the Zone of Interest. There ain't another director like Glazer working today, a true master of cinema.
Trailers should be like this, showing just a glimpse of what the story is about without giving away too much.
Brilliant use of mono in the sound design to increase claustrophobia.
This film couldn’t come at a more appropriate time. Never again means never again FOR EVERYONE.
I just saw "Under The Skin" recently and absolutely loved it. I went looking for Glazer's other work and saw that this is coming out. There's a good chance I see it in theaters more than once.
Glazer does not miss. See this in the theatre while you can. It’s a huge film to witness and you want full impact.
Saw it at Cannes Film Festival last may... it never stopped to wave inside my head.
It's what Claude Lanzmann would have made if he had made a drama instead of a documentary. Incredibly excited for this dark and important film. And with Glazer and Huller (utterly superb--she should win best actress for her role in Anatomy of a Fall this year), this film is in great hands.
As a German I´m very excited for this one. Our school really educates us about this topic, and every student usually visited a concentraiton camp- but to see a movie about how the vast majority of german people lived WITH it is going to be very interesing.
I read the book a couple of months ago. It had a great impact on me. We should never forget this time.
A24 THE BEST PRODUCTION COMPANY IN THE GAME HANDS DOWN. When you see that A24 logo, you know it's gonna be different than any movie before.
The actress that played the mother who stays with them really deserves some awards. Said so much with body and facial expressions.
This might be the greatest movie in a long long time. I don't want to hype it up but ive had nightmares about it since I saw it at nyff.
Jonathan Glazer has always been vastly underrated and under appreciated. It’s criminal. He’s one of the top filmmakers of his generation but never gets the love he deserves! So here’s some ❤❤❤
Can I just say how amazing it is that this is filmed in the German language? Very immersive.
Saw it yesterday. I don't how to recommend this movie to others when it's such a distressing experience. It's also an experimental arthouse film unlike other holocaust movies in the past. When looking at it at a cinematic level, it's definitely the best picture of the year.
