Apparently composer Mica Levi (Under The Skin, Jackie) worked on the soundtrack for this film but Jonathan Glazer decided to not use pretty much any of the songs and instead just use the horror background sounds of Auschwitz (screams, shots, dogs, etc.). I love Mica Levi's work but what a magnificent call. The sound design makes this film go from a drama to a horror. That being said I really hope they release Mica Levi's work as a separate album.

I liked the film but was disappointed with the sounds coming from Auschwitz. They were not very noticeable, very muted and just didn't sound very real. To me it sounded like there were only a handful of people there at a time, it didn't give the feeling that there were thousands.

The final scene of this film really hit me like a tonne of bricks, incredible directors choice. It’s certainly not for everybody, people going in expecting a depiction similar to Schindler’s list are going to be dare I say “underwhelmed” given the subject matter. But it’s a very quiet and subverted take on the horrors. Phycological horror at its finest. Kubrick style imagery and a hard hitting topic relevant to today’s current climate. Will be certainly going to see this again.
