The Zeliang Nagas are one of the major indigenous Naga communities and they primarily inhabit Peren District of Nagaland.
The Term Zeliang refers to the Zemeand Liangmai tribes combined.
The Zeliangs belong to the larger Southern Mongoloid population and their language belongs to the Sino-Tibetan family of languages.
In the past, The Zeliangs worshipped the Supreme God Tingwang and other sylvan Gods. But most of them got converted to Christianity due to its wave during the 1950s.
Zeliangs have several festivals and most of them are communal though some are individual in character. The Hega festival is one of the most important and the biggest festival amongst the Zeliang community.
