And she goes on to add speaking on behalf of what she’ll telll her kids when they read negative comments about themselves “don’t let the comments affect you, it’ silly.” She herself goes MIA in their videos because she’s negatively affected by the comments. How the hell would she expect her kids to. It difficult for adults to deal with the comments, let alone children. I’d love to be a fly on the wall when explains to her kids that they, as children, worked to support there own ‘lavish private school and pretty things lifestyle’ that she deems important. Her children will stop speaking to her. Mark my word.

Laws are in place that limit the hours a child can work depending on their age - and regardless, they’re not shown in their home (which should be a private space) - they’re playing characters in a fictitious setting. That’s FAR from a violation of their privacy. The problem here is that these children have no guaranteed safe space. There’s always someone watching them - which has to be quite disturbing.

    * ~~ 2024 update ~~ * EMILIA 11 years. The dad started calling her a "preteen" when she was like 8 and then upgraded to "teenager" around 10, constantly clickbaiting with borderline inappropriate titles/thumbnails. The girl didn't want to be filmed then and she doesn't want to be filmed now. The dad said in the documentary he doesn't film the kids in compromising situations but in reality he makes a habit of doing so. EDUARDO 9 years. Is now a "trans girl" called "Edie" and the new favourite child to exploit (approx. 90% of their content). The parents have been blatantly lying to his face about really serious stuff like that he's an actual girl now and will be able to give birth to babies just like a real woman, and the sweet little child you see in this documentary is now a sassy Tiktok trainwreck dressed exclusively in crop tops and tight leggings showing off his parts. Both older kids have 100% free reign of the internet at all times. ALESSIA Completely ignored, might as well not exist. ANDREA 5 years old but still "the baby" because the parents can't be assed to raise him, to the point where he's wearing a bib(!), stays up all night, curses all the time and regularly hits his siblings - and the parents just shrug. The mum has made it her thing that she's a "toxic boy mum" who prefers her "only" boy to the other children and forgives him everything. Oh yeah, and mum got a tummy tuck and a boob job for the money they earned exploiting the children, because of course she did.

17:30 really showed a lot. If both children are saying no they don't like to be in the videos, then they shouldn't be. The dad said, "that's understandable," when the daughter said she doesn't like being in the video. So what he's saying is that he gets it, he understands it, he knows it bothers his kids, but that still doesn't stop him. And the silence after that statement is wild. The whole vibe shifts in this moment, it's obvious that dad is tense and trying to act cool like this isn't bothering him at all. You are forcing your children to provide for your family. Family vlogs will never be okay, you should not profit off your children. No matter how much these parents justify and minimize what they are doing, they are still exploiting their children for money.

Two things: With Jonathan telling Stacey that Edie says no to everything, it just felt like he was brushing off what she was trying to say, ignoring the fact there may be some direct truth to her answer. Jonathan acts like he’s doing his kids a favor, but he’s really doing them a disservice. I don’t care that they’re not my kids. I can’t help but feel sorry for them. What if they get bullied in school or the videos land in the wrong people’s hands? How are they ever going to be taken seriously? How will they get a job? Even if they do take everything down, people retweet, repost, screenshot, screen share, etc. They will never live normal lives. They’re people, not content or property. There’s this whole new generation of kids out there being introduced to a new kind of trauma. Point two: It doesn’t matter if the video is an adorable toddler building a sandcastle or that same toddler parading around in their mommy’s crop top and high heels. ANY video posted online of a child currently under 13 is exploitation, no matter how wholesome or sweet it may be. Unfortunately creeps can sexualize anything nowadays, which is just flat out weird. All I can do is sit back and wait for the tell-all’s in twenty years.

I miss the Anna I used to watch years ago, when she started her channel about beauty, food, traveling etc. She used to be so happy, creative and bubbly. She was my mood booster. She was my inspiration, when I felt lost and disliked myself. She taught me how to be happy and creative with fashion, makeup and in the kitchen. But then it became awkward when her, then boyfriend, took over her channel. She stopped smiling and started to cringe-smiling. Years later... I have not seen her smile for real for many years. She looks drained, emotionally disconnected, chronically tired and depressed. She has bags under her eyes, like she cries a lot, and she really looks sleep-deprived and heavily drugged. I was like this, when I was taking pills for anxiety, XANAX. Like a zombie or a robot. It is so saddening to see her "trapped" in an unhappy marriage, with an abuser, who isolated her and brainwasher. I miss the old happy Anna. I hope that one day she will be able to leave him and put her kids in therapy, because they already need it. The sooner the better for all five of them. Her and her kids too.

ALL family vlog channels (with minor children) should be directly monitored by CPS/DHS. Random home visits included. The mother admits they utilize manipulative tactics to get the children to "agree" to keep filming to continue the MATERIAL lifestyle that the KIDS provide, not the parents. If it was the parents' channel, then the parents could start a couples channel, excluding the children, but we know their BUSINESS would fail under that model.

I'm a former employee of the Child Welfare League of America, the people that provide the training materials for the Department of Human Services. It is not the job of the DHS/CPS to decide what is right or wrong for someone's children. They are there for when it is obviously destructive to a child.

Family Vloggers should be banned! They all say that if their kids decide they don't want to be filmed anymore that they will quit, Then they ask the kids and the kid says no but still the vlogging continues. Almost every child says no if they are asked if they like or want to keep vlogging, their answer is ignored. I have yet to see a family actually respect their children's rights and wishes completely, and I mean completely and stop filming them. The children are told that they will not have all the money and nice things if they don't do vlogs. That's forcing them to do something they don't want to do! These parents know their videos and other social media would plummet if they stopped showing their kids. That should tell them they really aren't that great and people don't actually want to see their daily life. It doesn't matter how pretty they paint the picture, they are exploiting and living off their kids. It doesn't matter how careful they are of what they show, perverts aren't picky. They think if they never share their address that they will never be found. If someone wants to find them, they will. It is unbelievable that they risk their kids being bullied, wellbeing, lives and safety for the sake of being social media famous. It's disgusting! They think that if they delete all the bad comments that the kids will not have to see them or deal with negative consequences of being exploited by their parents. They are very wrong in that assumption. With this family, the wife is miserable and the husband is addicted to vlogging and doesn't care what his wife or kids want. He doesn't pay attention to negative comments because there's a lot of truth in those comments and he knows what he's doing is wrong. Their fame and fortune won't last and then what will they do? They should be putting most of the money into trust accounts for their kids when they are adults, the kids are the reason why they have that money.

They definitely wouldn't have the following without their children and they see nothing wrong with putting their children in danger because who knows what weirdos are watching. Plus what they're doing to their son Eduardo is absolutely terrible and bringing in so much money

Earlier on she claims they are very careful about what they are filming, "we've never shown fights, we've never shown tantrums, we've never shown potty training..." when they literally had social services called to their house because they were punishing one of their little ones for poop smearing with cold showers, repeatedly. That is how they respect their children's privacy. I won't even get into how Edie will feel in a few years about having been KZread's and Tiktoks most famous trans preteen, or Emilia who has recently been labeled neurodivergent by Jonathan (and himself, too, of course. Not like there's a pattern)

You should do a segment on The Dougherty Dozen. This woman has 4 bio children and the rest are adopted. She has told the internet and everyone else all of the kids medical problems, where they live, go to school, some of them have FASD and her and her husband drink. She spends over $2000 a week on food and throws most of it away. She is one horrible mother and she lies about everything. She has a manager who is a convicted felon. This family you are talking about are angels compared to the Dougherty Dozen.

I think the issue with saying 'my kids are happy doing it" is that they're just kids - they don't understand what they are doing. They can't give an informed consent because they simply cannot comprehend what imact this might have on their lives. I also stronly disagree with what he said in the end that all kids might looks at something they parents did in the past and be embarased - but that's different. What parents did in their past has nothing to do with parents making their children do things. There are so many examples of children being exploted in the past that are now grown ups and all are saying it destroyed them. There really has to be some form of regulation of family vlogging, I really think so.
