    if she isn't stalked, taken advantage of, ripped off, mauled, assaulted, on drugs, develop depression and low body image, an eating disorder or suffer severe isolation from travelling alone and sleeping in hotel rooms alone...many things that come with modelling no matter how strong you are. It's not something to aim for. Oh, and don't forget seen as only good for one thing, smiling and looking young and pretty.

    I like to see black people make it. I'm broke poor and on section 8 housing as a black woman it sucks.😢 Is there an app that I can make fast money?

  • @amberjin831

    I had a black girl in my class with afro hair. One day some girls were having a role play with dresses and costumes, since there was only one tiara, I asked the girls to take turns to be the princess. When it was her turn, I used my own hair band and hair clips to fix her hair so the tiara would fit. being an Asian person, I had no idea about the symbolic meaning and funny relationship between a black female and her hair, nor did i have any idea how to treat her hair. Her mom came to pick her up, she watched her daughter being the princess and she was nearly in tears which shocked me as i thought something went wrong. The next day she came to me and looked me in the eyes and thanked me after her daughter told her how i helped to fix her hair so she can be the princess because she never gets to be a princess in a play. I was so happy and heart broken at the same time. She is no longer my student but the whole family became friends to my own and her mom is one of my close friends whom i learnt a lot from.

  • 2 ай бұрын

    Oh baloney that she never gets to be the princess. We're not living in the 1920's. Don't know if I can stomach this as I'm sitting on the toilet now taking a poop hahaha. Sometimes have to to put up with Stacey. She is a weird one

    Oh wow, I didn’t pick up on that. Good point. Looking at mom and dad, I bet Dior is going to be naturally svelte her whole life. She was eating chips at one point and their meal times seemed so relaxed and enjoyable. I’m betting she has a pretty healthy attitude about food going forward.

  • @elisemiller13

    Seems to me it sets an example of healthy attitude that Stacey Did comment. There's so much pain, for girls of all ages about food and fear placed upon us, & shoved into our minds from a young age. Yes! please talk about it and remove the stigma of a carb or a chip, so this b.s. suffering can be nipped in the bud at a young age! Leads to eating the whole bag & models (as well so many others) doing terrible things to their bodies otherwise.

    I love this family so much. Nothing about them seems forced or faked for the camera. I loved the moment when the dad brought the mom her tea, and she expressed so much appreciation for him, acknowledging that she meant to bring him tea and forgot, and that was how he responded. They truly seem to love and respect one another so much, and it's reflected in their children.

    So superficial. I didn't like that little girl saying she's on Instagram and has 10k followers. Not good. And how people comment about how cute she is. And how about the little boy saying he's glad he's rich.

  • @madebylexi

    @madebylexi

    2 ай бұрын

    The other little girl isn't the point of this episode, and it's obvious the boy meant that he was grateful that their well-off. That he has a beautiful house while others do not even have a shack. Being rich is a good thing to be thankful for because not everyone is in that position.

  • @annaf3915
    @annaf39153 ай бұрын

    What this episode showed me more than anything is that it's really all about confidence and personality because all children are beautiful, just like all adults are beautiful in their own way but with children it's more obvious. Dior looks like my neighbour's daughter and her little model friend looks just like my son's friend from school. They are both really confident girls but maybe not quite as extroverted and bubbly and most importantly they wouldn't like playing dress up for hours.

    Wish Stacey had asked more about if they think over compensating for self-esteem can be more harmful than good. It's good for kids to get a dose of reality. I don't agree that any of this is a good thing, regardless of how good the parents are about it. The young model friend of hers even said that she loves the attention. Did that not raise a red flag for anyone else? Reading the comments they all seem positive. I'm quite shocked. You can create narcissistic adults this way. Not saying they will be. But... better to teach your kids to be humble than "I'm the smartest person in the world and the most beautiful." Feel kind of bad for the son, too.

    Well good for you, hopefully now you know different people have different aspirations.

    @okayyy9740 yes people should but children should be children as long as they can. One day when you're all grown and paying those bills and getting up for work day after day, and hoping the car will make it with the gas you put in because you're broke until next pay. When all that sht happens. You'll wish you was still a kid.

    Stacey looked like she had her shirt on backwards, guess that shows how out of fashion I am.

    I would have loved for Dior to have been featured in Ebony, which was America's Longest Running Black Magazine that debuted in 1945 and went Bankrupt in 2020. I would have loved for Stacey to have interviewed Girls Aloud and how their lives have changed in the past 22 years. They were so much luckier than most Girl Groups especially the ones from The Video Age. Some ended up Homeless like in SWV (Sisters With Voices), Broke like TLC, or getting cash advances like En Vogue or put their career on the line lke Tameka aka "Tiny" from Xscape. The Young Man is so respectful. However Carribbean & African Parents make their children toe the line when it comes to discipline.

    The history behind cornrows is that; 1: When slaves were caught they used to hide gold in it. 2: The different styles were actually the slaves way of communicating escape routes and messages to fellow slaves without their slave masters knowing what it meant

    In 10-15 years the models will all be AI - not human. Beauty fades - I wish they would praise her for being kind and smart.

    She did actually - "you're the smartest girl in the world" not exactly helpful. Teaching your kids how to be humble is worth more than a million bucks. They don't seem to understand that.

    No, red flags all over the place! Odd how Stacey was so accepting and open with this family and so critical of others. That is to say, I love Stacey's critical nature while staying friendly and warm, and this episode was sorely lacking in that department.
