Thank you for your services I’m a witness that not all officers (whites) are bad!! They really do feed you, cause one fed me at a fancy restaurant on his way to take me juvenile detention center, one stopped me a gave me a ticket lol for my 1year old not having a car seat but also told me to follow him to Walmart so he can get my baby a car seat, one bought me underwear, socks, and t shirts when I had to spend 15 days in the county jail…. There really are some great heros on the force…. I was a juvenile delinquent during my youth and it was the white community who saved my life !!!

I wish it could be like that for everybody. That's one of many, many things I admire about the black community, the personal connection with God, its just on a different level. I know plenty of white people who go to church, who lead service, but its not the same. It just feels different like there should be more. I think that's one of the reasons I enjoy listening to Steve speak, because he's so open it's not preachy, its just his love of God in its purest form.

He did say that he started walking from 11:30 pm the night before so the police did give him a ride for the few miles left but I feel like he would have made it there still with his determination but just maybe at like 7:30 -8am instead of 6am

Just for clarification, I don't think the police officer gave him a ride. A friend of the officer that knew him came and gave him a ride the rest of the way. The officer was great to check how he was doing and call a friend to give him a ride though.

I live in the Birmingham,Al.area.I remember this story when it happened from local news.What an amazing story about this young man Walter Carr.I am glad Steve took this story nationally to inspire others--young people and the whole world

Like I always say, "Good comes to Good"

I could not afford a car until I was in my late 20s. I used waitress tips for driving lessons. I had to walk for over 4 hours a day to work, grocery shop. When you need to survive, you just do it.

Exactly! We need to unite in this country no matter the color when you see other countries that hate us and will wait for an opportunity to take us over. As a law enforcement officer, I applaud Steve for illustrating that we do have great officers.

Walter's determination and dedication is most admirable and the lady that offer him a room to rest is one the kindest things I heard

He's her son. They both share a kind heart.

Two years ago I went to see my mother in hospice care two days before Christmas, I hadn't seen her in years. We talked, said goodbye, my ride didn't show up and I began to walk, and then my phone died, and it was cold, dark, and I was lost. Then..., I heard the bloop, bloop behind me, it was a state trooper. Oh man, I did not need that, a man of color in Maine walking on the side of the road at night. Then three more officers showed up, it was a sea of lights on the side of the road, yeah, I was understandably a bit nervous. I told them what was going on, they called the facility, my mom was there and they verified that I had been to see her. When the Trooper heard that he pointed at his car and told me to get in. We rode in silence. That man drove me 65 miles and litterally dropped me off at my house, he doesn't know I saw him but he wiped his eyes as he drove away... My mom died a week and a half later. Not all cops are bad.

Faith in humanity restored

I had heard this story before and decided to watch it again. Yes, and where we are as a country (us) , we can always used a good story. Over and over again. He didn’t walk to get attention, he was just a good kid trying to make it to work. One more thing, if ups wouldn’t have let him go, we wouldn’t have been lifted up from this amazing story .

Good people doing good things. You can see in the ladies eyes she is so proud of him. And his boss giving him his vehicle is just off the chart. Steve is a good man too. His eyes were getting pretty full by the time He was done. He cares about people.
