I remember when I was young and poor I would break up small rocks to place in the concrete forms as filler. It saved me a great deal of money during construction .

The end result of that plastic sheet roof surprises me. Its look quite nice for such a cheap material. But fire hazard is a big concern. Additionally, the use of cheap bricks for the load-bearing walls is clearly unsafe. A proper support pillar should be built.

They may not be the straightest of block columns; but he persevered with his dream. You have to give him praise for that.

This is awesome. I didn’t know the roof could be a concrete slab like that with metal rebar. Does that hold together? That’s better quality than these wood houses in america that get termites.

What an ingenious way to lay rebar within the walls to reinforce for quakes and to stabilize the wall in general!! And fill with stone +cement to give pillar walls the weight to stabilize!

With due respect my dear friend, this is absolutely ok. As a matter of fact, if you fill the block the damage cause by an earthquake will be great.On the other hand when they is a gap( block not fill with cement) the crack cause by an earthquake wont concentrate on the full structure of the house. Another reason why we dont fill the block is to trap heat,(whole purpose of that hole) thus making house still cold during summer time.(heat thermodynamics) Thank you Take it from me an experience engineer.
